Here you will see all the reviews of real people who know the products of Stillwater Spa (Spa) in Alberta (Canada).
Currently the firm gets a rating of 4.5 over 5 and that score is based on 102 reviews.
As you can see its rating is virtually the top, and it's based on a large number of feddbacks, so we may think that the assessment is quite faithful. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they've done well with the service, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to put tatings when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Spa belongs to the category of Spa.
Great people felt relaxed and rejuvenated
Me and my girlfriends come here every few months! We love the jet hot tub and sauna- it's very nice and classy inside and they give the best facials! Well worth your money!
One of the best spas in Calgary. Very professional staff and clean facilities. It can get very busy on weekends so if you have a flexible go during the week for a more relaxing time.
First class experience. Had a manicure, pedicure and massage. I also had lunch here, it was delicious. I had a relaxing day, I'd recommend if you wanted to treat a loved one or yourself. Staff were professional and pleasant and always knew and called me by my name. 5 stars, I'll be back
Man this place is a beauty! Looker room has a nice shower with body wash and hair cleaning products. It has a 2 person steamer and a 2 person hot tub. Worth every penny for the massage. Make your way down here! They also validate parking.
I booked a 90 minute therapeutic massage and it was awful. I've had only good experiences at Stillwater, but was appalled at the poor quality massage I received. I specifically said that my problem areas were my shoulders, and yet the massage therapist barely touched my shoulders. And a therapeutic massage is meant to be deep tissue massage but he barely applied any pressure. He literally spent 30 mins slathering oil on my back. I was so confused. It felt like a completely untrained person was just improvising. It was a total waste of money.
The massage was amazing! My wife and I did a couple's massage and the therapists were professional and skilled. Highly recommended it if you have endless money. In regards to ambiance... This place is outdated and ugly. I'd have loved to order a snack or a glass of wine but the 'eating area' is a windowless room with Ikea furniture. Why?
The best spa location in Calgary.. they get it right every time. Amazing customer service and cozy environment..
Simply the best. I absolutely love this spa and I have been to many around the world. The locker room is well stocked with many essentials that someone like me tends to overlook. We had a lunch paired with our services and it was an amazing way to spend a special occasion. I will be back and highly recommend it.
Amazing service and treatments. Always a wonderful relaxing experience.
Very nice, clean and well maintained spa. There were about 8 ladies all in robes in the waiting room when I arrived, were waiting much longer than I would have expected and were VERY loud which took away the calmness of the spa...it kind of felt more like a public pool changing room. The massage service itself was absolutely fantastic but again, very noisy in the hallway taking away full relaxation possibility.
Prices are very high considering all of the spa amenities like the hot tub and steam rooms are closed due to Covid. People pay more for these types of spas because of those extras and if they are not being offered then the prices should reflect that. Also the first spa I've ever been to that didn't offer any refreshments or snacks of any kind in the lounging area. They also don't direct bill to insurances for massages. The massage I received was marginal at best. I understand if certain things can't be offered due to Covid but again, prices need to reflect the major drop in service and luxury. Will not return to this spa in the future, not even a chance.
I love to spa. My favorite is the Still water spa, it is so serene and comfortable. I went with my sister for her birthday for a full package (Massage, Body wrap and Facial). The massage and Body wrap were divine. I had a less than stellar facial. When it was done, I spoke privately with the manager who took care of the situation above and beyond what I was expecting. I am thrilled with the continued service I get from the Still water. STILL my favorite.
Loved the manicure and pedicure!
Amazing! Great staff, atmosphere, and massage therapist! Loved it!
Called 3 weeks ago, to book for my girlfriend and her sister (I'm buying them a spa day for her birthday) confirmed the times and services and my phone number for a credit card. Tried to confirm everything again today, 3 days out from the big day of. And they had totally wiped my reservation. (And are now booked up in those time slots) I had a limo booked ($350) to take them to the spa, which I don't get money back for. And her birthday plans are now shot. Management did not offer retribution or a discount in any way.
Small issue with booking the full time (namely the person answering the phone ASSUMING what services I wanted) but was quickly redeemed when I called a second time to book and the lady on the phone was great. My services were with Fiona and not only was she personable, but she was great at what she does :) would return.
It was fairly pricy but oh so worth it. Went in for a 90 minute therapeutic massage and I am so relaxed and feel good. The place was very lovely and the staff was friendly and pleasant. Got a gift certificate from my surrogacy agency from a set of IPs and I can not thank them enough. I highly recommend to everyone.
Amazing spa. The amenities are great, service is amazing and the facility is very clean. Private area is great to relax after the massage.
Outstanding experience and massage experience
Terrible Experience! Went to this spa on two separate occasions for massage and both times was very disappointed. The first time went by myself. The lady at the front desk was rather brisk (borderline rood) making it look like she was very busy, except there was no one else at the front. She did not bother to show me around, given that it was my first time visiting the facility I though it was strange. Indication of poor customer service in my opinion. Inside, the whirlpool was out of order that day and the steam room was very cold. I asked about it and the stuff told me I had to turn it on and wait for it to warm up. Massage was ok, but I was put in a double occupancy room which was very large and did not feel very relaxing due to its size. Also, because it was a bigger room it was quite chilly, again not making it comfortable for a relaxing massage. The second time I visited with my friend (I don't think I would have come back to the spa after my bad experience the first time, but my friend had a gift certificate, so I gave in, thinking it would be better...). This time we were both disappointed. The whirlpool was still out of order. In the lounge area the snacks were all gone when we got there and in an hour and a half that we spent at the spa they were not restocked. Again massage was just average. For the amount of money that this spa charges one would except exceptional customer service and fantastic facilities but all you get is just average at best. Spend your money some place else. Personally, I would not go back to Stillwater Spa, nor would I recommend it to any of my friends.
Had a massage, manicure and pedicure. Loved my experience here.
I have been to this spa for a number of occasions and generally really enjoy it. The changing room has all the amenities you need to shower and get ready for the day after your treatments. They provide snacks and drinks which is a lovely touch. The hot tub used to have a waterfall on the wall which was nice to look at but they took that out and now it's just a bare wall which isn't as appealing. I have had many wonderful therapeutic massages; however, at my last treatment, the massage therapist had.a cold and tried to discreetly attend to her congested nose throughout the massage which was not hygienic. I would recommend that therapists who are sick do not provide massages. Other than this experience, I would recommend this spa.
The best spa in Calgary. My husband got me the new mom spa package for Christmas. I had a therapeutic massage, pedicure and facial. The massage therapist was great, she listened to my concerns and was able to relieved my back pain. Pedicure was so so, the lady was shaking while applying the nail polish so it wasnt a good outcome but it was okay. Facial was really good even though it was the express facial and only 30 minutes, it was the best facial I had. Will definitely come back.
I'm a little late with posting this, but figured better late than never! :) My sister's wedding was in June, so as the maid of honor, I decided to organize a mani/pedi appointment for all of us (my sister, the bridal party, our Mom, and her future mother-in-law). Although my sister lives in Calgary, I live all the way in Texas. Despite the distance, Marcela (the Spa Reservations Agent) made planning this event so much easier. Marcela was incredibly sweet, professional, organized, and accommodating even though I had to keep changing the date/time of our appointment (our group kept having changes in their work schedules). I'm truly grateful for Marcela being so patient and flexible with us. Marcela, if you're reading this, you're the best! :) From the moment we stepped foot into Stillwater Spa to the moment we left, we were greeted by friendly staff and treated with the utmost respect. As for the manis/pedis...HOLY COW, this was the best shellac mani/pedi I've ever had in my entire life!!! My French manicure came out perfectly and I received compliments on it for literally a month and a half! (Yes, it lasted that long without chipping). It looked so natural that even when my nails grew out (my nails grow pretty fast), it looked natural. I attended 3 weddings within a span of 4 weeks, so I didn't even need to book another manicure or pedicure for the 2 weddings after my sister's! (My pedicure turned out amazing and lasted 1 and 1/2 months without chipping too). I have super sensitive feet, but the nail technician was very gentle and I had no issues during my pedicure. Everyone in our group absolutely loved their manis/pedis too! The amenities were wonderful! The area with the hot tub, lockers, and steam room was spotless and had an elegant design. I thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub with a steaming cup of tea and granola from their complimentary snack bar. The steam room was a great way to end this amazing experience. Next time I'm in Calgary, I will definitely be returning! Thank you Marcela and Stillwater for making our visit such a memorable experience!
First time at Stillwater spa. I had a 60 minute massage, a facial and a pedicure. Great service and very thorough and relaxing. Everyone from the receptionist to the change room attendants were very professional and detail oriented. Too bad i forgot my swimsuit for the whirlpool in the ladies changeroom. I will return again.
Went here for my fiancé's and my anniversary and boy were they accommodating and flexible! Amenities here are amazing while you wait for your next appointment and everything is so relaxing! Would come here for our next anniversary!
By far one of the best spas in Calgary.
I got a gift certificate for this place a while back, and after using it a few times, I will never come back. The hot tub water inside the mens washroom is never warm, it's lukewarm and I'd even say cold. And then I got a massage from a lady whose name I won't mention. Then a day later I get a call back later from the supervisor saying the lady was uncomfortable and that I cannot get a massage from females anymore... and all I did was lay there while I got massaged? And these are issues I have never had at any other places like Massage Heights, The Fairmont Palliser Spa. and others. And I've been massaged by multiple females, multiple times each and still... had never had issues. I have no words for this place, and definitely do not recommend it to anyone.
Ashley was amazing , therapeutic massage but wasn't to intense . Very clean , squared away would be back again for sure.
I was reading reviews before I decided to book here for our 90 min anniversary massages. I was very disappointed at how small this spa was and that there was no special couples room for us to use the whirl pool and steam room. It was not private enough as there was a group of 8 ladies chatting and laughing and there was no way I was gonna get naked and sit there while they had a party. The food/tea election was pitiful. The actual massage was decent, I got a guy-cant remember his name but he had dark skin but amazing strength to work out the adhesions on my shoulders. After they brought us to a room that had another couple to relax. Ummm, That's a no no. It was soooo awkward, we just sat there staring at each other. It was nothing special and no special service considering it was a $500 massage. Wont book there again. Sante or Riverside. More personal and amazing elections of beverages/snacks. Was expecting so much more for this price range!!!
Warm welcome, clean facilities, lovely selection of snacks and beverages, with professional staff providing high quality service and treatments. I felt pampered in every way. Will most certainly come again!
likely the best spa in town.. great massage.. staff is friendly and the ambiance is very cozy and quaint
Nice spot. Really don't know where some of these comments are coming from, seems like people set the bar super high for spas. the steam room was almost 50 deg C when i went in. Didn't even overtly ask for tips which was much appreciated.
Amazing service and treatments. Always a wonderful relaxing experience. Prices are reasonable also. Can’t wait to go back
The best spa in Calgary without question.
Love this spa… the best in Calgary in my opinion. I treated myself to a birthday pedi. The locker room has so many amenities, very clean and luxurious. The staff are all very friendly and attentive. The spa waiting room is very relaxing and still includes delicious homemade granola bar bites and teas, water and coffee. Overall a fantastic experience. I’ll be back very soon.
I was at Stillwater and was treated like a queen. I honestly did not want to leave. The staff was warm and friendly. From the moment I walked through the doors I felt welcomed. I had a fantastic experience from start to finish. I loved the body treatment, the massage and the facial. The cosmetician and massage therapist were very knowledgeable, professional and with a great disposition to answer all my questions. Rest to say I left Stillwater with a huge smile on my face. I can't wait to go back.
Fantastic as always, eucalyptus steam couple massage cant be beat! Always a great relaxing time here.
The facilities were disappointing, only one shower for the mens room, the steam room and hot tub were warm at best. During my 90 minute massage there was a very audible, intermittent buzzing noise coming from the ceiling. It got to be so annoying I cut the massage short. After being told by the therapist that she would talk to front desk and have them issue a credit, we got our heft bill and there wasn't even a discount, let alone an apology. I would recommend steering clear from this place.
????
Amazing fantastic service and a serene experience
I love this spa, it is the beautiful place to relax and rejuvenate. I had the body wrap, message and facial package, it was amazing, only compliant will be the price, could not find any deal or coupon to save, only can come for special occasion then.
I love the relaxing environment here. Adrienne gave me an amazing 90 minute massage.
Probably the best spa I have been to in town. I find the staff to be welcoming and efficient; the women's facilities are always clean and super enjoyable; and the treatments themselves are worth every penny. Also, their pedicures are the absolute best! My aesthetician gets extra points for being patient when I accidentally kicked a whole pile of towels in a foot bath... The only thing lacking is better spa snacks.
Really nice facilities, nice hot tub, steam room, complementary snacks, tea and lemon water. Excellent relaxing massages I would go all the time if I could afford it!
My massage therapist Nicholas was great, super deep as I requested and was not afraid to get stuck in. The downside to this spa is that it is more like a day spa. It’s not a place you’d go and hang out because there aren’t really any facilities. You go, get your massage and leave.
Beautiful interior. Women only steam room and whirlpool within the changing area, which is a huge bonus. Lounge is comfortable with tea and healthy snacks. Massage itself was wonderful, polite and responsive staff. It is more expensive than most other spas, but it is inside the Hyatt. Overall wonderful day of indulgence.
I've been going to the Stillwater since 2009 when I moved to Calgary and going pretty regularly. I went with a friend on Friday and I have to say that it has gone down considerably as it relates to the front office staff. The facial and pedicure I had were wonderful as always - but the three newish folks at the front office were disappointing. They seemed not to know what they were doing and were less than friendly or professional. It also seemed that they didn't understand their own policies and procedures. I am disappointed considering that I know what it can be. I really hope they get the cashier and appointment booking people that you encounter first more training and to have a smile and to be welcoming. Disappointed.
All service Spa, very relaxing.
This is amazing place with amazing staff
Fabulous attention, steam room, massage and facial. The tea and bismarks were truly decadent.
I came here for the first time with my wife. We got a couples massage. I must say it is a really nice spot. The change area’s have a steam room and hot tube that you can utilize before your treatment which really relaxes you. They have a sitting area with healthy snacks, organic herbal tea’s, cucumber and lemon water. I would recommend showing up 30 to 60 mins prior to your treatment so you can use the amenities and get yourself in a truly relaxed mind and body state. Our massage was also great. The shower has everything you need with body wash, shampoo and conditioner. They also have spray underarm deodorant, hair gel, combs, q-tips....etc Basically all you need to do is show up with a bathing suite and enjoy your time there. I would recommend this place.
I got a manicure and a pedicure here. The staff is very kind and I really like that this place uses health-conscious products! The locker room is also very spa-like. Getting to use a locker which allows you to use your own code is a huge bonus, not to mention the luxurious robes you find inside! Only bummer was an annoying, weird beeping sound while I was getting my nails done. And clients aren't told to keep their voices low, so I can only imagine what people getting a massage might have been thinking.
What amazing day of relaxation. I took full advantage of using the steam room as well as the hor pool. My massage therapist Valerie was amazing for my 90 minute hot stone massage. I cant wait till go back. ????❤
I recently enjoyed some pampering @ The Stillwater Spa in Calgary. Both Tina ( Spa Mgr.) & Sylvia ( Spa Coordinator) were most helpful in booking my services & arranging for lunch between my services. I had the best Therapeutic Massage from Liz & the best Gel Pedicure from Lisa that I’ve ever had! Professional & engaging. I’ll be requesting both for my next appointment. Gabbey at the Reception Desk was also efficient & courteous. A cohesive team! The whole experience from on-line booking to the services were seamless. Highly recommend.
Amazing!!!
Amazing! Kind, efficient staff, one of the best massages I've ever had and the steam room and hot tub were delightful. I also really appreciated the Rocky Mountain Soap products provided
Amazing service. Fantastic amenities.
Absolutely amazing! Give them a chance.
Nice, clean professional. Great options with scheduling that works.
Lovely place!
I had a facial, a lovely lunch, a body scrub, and a pedicure. This was by far the best spa experience I have ever had. I have very sensitive skin and as a result I do not typically get a positive treatment or result. Every treatment at Stillwater was done very well, by a professional person who cared, and I didn't suffer any "after-effects". I loved my experience at the Stillwater Spa and I am just in the process of booking another similar day of bliss! I recommend Stillwater to everyone within earshot.
Nice and clean.
My boyfriend gifted me the refresh package (massage, manicure and pedicure with lunch). The service itself was lovely as was the facility. The issue I had was when I went to remove the acetone soak of shellac polish it wouldn't budge. I went to my nail tech who said it was gel and need to be filed off. So I opted to return to the spa, thinking they had a special substance specific to their polish to remove this cement from my hands. When I arrived the staff a the front desk were rather rude and did not want to accommodate me in any way. I managed to get in a few hours later that day to remove the shellac. As the Stillwater nail tech was working she also couldn't get THEIR product off! She was very pleasant and sympathetic and did her best but I still had chunks of whatever was on my fingers left that WOULD NOT come off. I left with damaged, thinned and lumpy nails and raw, stinging nail beds. I had come in with long healthy nails and healthy nail beds. As I was leaving I asked to speak to the manager and was told they would call me. Well they never called, they never returned any of my messages and when ever I did manage to reach a person I was NEVER directed to the manager. It's been three-ish months since my visit and I am still waiting for the cement polish to grow out. I had to cut my long nails because they were so thinned and damaged. Overall I was disappointed with their response (or lack of) to this issue and their dishonesty about the products they use (I have never had such an issue with shellac before). The way they treated me when I came in to get the shellac removed was very hurtful and honestly left me in tears not only from the pain from my nail beds but also because I believed they were a reputable establishment where I would be safe from this kind of treatment.
Love this spa
Best place ever if you want a day off to unwind and treat yourself. Can’t wait to be back
I have been to 5 star spas that have the full hydro therapy, clay, ice rooms and more so this one you can't compare. My husband bought me a Signature spa package. Overall good value but once you add grats it's very expensive. It comes with lunch. So I came ahead but the facility is limited so I was done that within 15 mins. Woman's area clean, lots of ladies always cleaning. The jacuzzi is small, maybe 3 persons. The steam room was nice, they should add some aromatherapy. I did a custom salad, well presented and fresh but my chicken wasn't seasoned and for such a big salad only came with a mini saucer of dressing. They just need to check up on you and I would have requested more. Lisa did my pedicure and manicure, she was amazing and very professional. One of the best pedi's I ever had. My massage after was lovely and my gal was very nice, the timing between those 3 appointments was all perfect. Overall I had a lovely afternoon. I would come back for a spa pedi for sure.
Best spa in the city!
Decent environment. Decent facial. The girl got a glob of mask in my hair that hardened and it was a nightmare to remove. Expensive for what you get for sure.
Good lunch time package
The still water spa is pretty good. The atmosphere is very nice, however, they seem to be a little rough during my facial.
Ok, this is the best spa in Calgary, hands down. There's a steam room, hot tub and steam showers. In the covid free world, they have the best spa snacks and spa water. In the covid-19 world, they have nice bottled water upon request - pelligrino, if you ask for sparkling! The massages are ALWAYS top notch. I've never had a bad massage here. If I could go here every other week, I most certainly would. Oh,and the front of house staff are SO kind. Some of the sweetest people in the world! So yeah, definitely 5/5 stars for this place!!
Great service and massage!
The facilities were great. I had a body treatment, facial and massage. There was lunch included which was delicious. It was pricey but worth every dollar, I'll be back for sure.
Been to this spa three times now and love! I highly suggest the body wraps, every one I got was incredible.
