After booking a week in advance for a mother, daughter spa day and receiving 2 confirmation calls the day before, I get a call 1 hour before my appointment time, with someone telling me that they do not have a message therapist available for the time I booked. Hello everyone, Please read this before even thinking of going to this place If you love your skin... please DO NOT go here. Kaya Kama is not a place for customers with delicate skin or too sensitive skin. They don’t have different products for different skin type, specially waxing. Waxing is suppose to be done with concentration on the temperature of the wax and only thin layer should be applied. But these details are ignored by the beautician. I want to attach the burnt skin photo, but didn’t have a place to do so please consider this before going. Plus the soothing sound which is always being played is for relaxation purpose but instead the beautician just keeps talking, so it’s hard to relax. If that was not all, when I told the owner that I am getting red spots on my skin, she replied that I might be allergic to gluten .... after 25 years, I have started having allergies. This was the most dumbest answer from the beautician. Now there is an add-on to this story- The owner called me today and apologized for the burn that I got as I had sent her an email of the details with the picture. So I asked her whether she genuinely had a cream wax for sensitive skin, Guess what she said??? Yes!!! She had it but had told her employee not to apply to me because I had bought the Groupon voucher !!! She actually discriminates between her customers. She wants me to give her another chance.... how can I trust her again with my skin ??? And whether she will not do such things again?? And one more thing the people who have given her 5 star rating - just before mine is actually her employee.... so please don’t go on the ratings . Not at least for this salon

Recommended by a few people to try their facials. Found a groupon and decided to take advantage of it. Called and they were able to get me in same day (which was great) at 3:45pm. Arrived at 3:40 and was asked to wait 10 mins. No problem. They ended up bringing me in at 4:15. Everything started ok. The lady did a glycerine mask on me. It ended up dripping into my eye and started burning REALLY bad. Sat up and had to flush my eye out with water for a while. Didn’t stop burning for quite a few minutes. Ended up having to peel off my contact in that eye due to irritation. Eye slowly started swelling and wouldn’t close properly for rest of the facial. Ended up having to get my husband to drive and pick me up, leaving my car there until I was able to properly see. Spoke to a few people about it- didn’t even get an apology OR some sort of compensation. Only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is because I liked the products.

I bought a coupon for this establishment through Team Buy for a steam, salt scrub, 1/2 hr. massage and 1/2 hr. facial, price was $ 99.00 which would have been good if I got what I paid for. Since I had been at the Sherwood Park location before they closed I was expecting the same service. My steam clock was set for 30 minutes after 13 she took me out and started on the salt scrub, your not covered. Then I was taken into the massage room and was told to get comfortable and she would be back in a couple of minutes, 20 minutes later she came in and gave me a 15 minute massage, was told turn over and I received a 15 minute facial which was nothing at all. What I did receive was good, but I was told these services would last approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. The service was 1 hour for everything and when I complained, it was not acknowledged at all. I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!

Well, it's been a full year since I made the mistake of getting a face wax here. My eye brows, which I asked only to be tidied cause I loved my shape, have never fully recovered. The lady took a massive chunk out of the lower portion of my left eyebrow, and it never grew back in. I do not recommend this salon to anyone. Everytime I look at my face without makeup it makes me incredibly sad. They were nicely even before.

I just had a hydrating facial at Kaya Kama and it was hands down the best facial I ever had. My ears, neck, shoulders and arms were massaged and it was amazing! The best part about it was that I could visibly see improvements on my skin from the time I walked in to when I walked out!

Terrible customer service. The owner doesn’t even know how to use a laser machine and has burnt me and my fellow colleagues several times. Does she have certification?? Is she allowed to practice with this machine because she is not good at all when she is burning me. Also, she seems to be using the same disposable razor to shave the skin before laser. My friend had gone before and I had gone after and she had used the same razor I SAW HAIR ON THE RAZOR. This is unacceptable and should be reported to Health Canada. They need to be audited ASAP

The Day before Shiv called to confirm my appt. He was wonderfully informative checking to make sure that I knew how to get to the Spa. Offering to send me more detailed instructions if I needed them.I thought....:"What a wonderful 1st impression...someone who really wants my business". When I arrived the next day I was greeted by Shiv and told him how impressed with the service so far. The great service continued with Nusrat giving me a Hammam Gommage exfoliation treatment. She was very informative as to how/what would be happening. She treated me with friendly professionalism and she has a wonderful smile.The decor of the business is very impressive and relaxing. My only negative criticism would be that the mirrors and baseboards needed cleaning. But I have seen worse at other establishments.Good Job to all that looked after me!

I went to this Spa because I bought a promo package coupon to have 4 services done. I upgraded two of them for a discounted price of 40$, the facial and a pedicure. Both upgraded sessions were really nice and relaxing. The service was good and the products used left my skin extremely soft. The hammam &Gommage Treatment I did not upgrade but it was a good experience (you are completely bare during this), the steam room is really nice. The threading was just as good as anywhere else. I would return if the pricing was not so expensive, that is the only reason why I would not.

My experiences were very mixed. Booking conflicts: I experienced multiple conflicts with booking during my multi-session laser hair removal process. They had double booked one time and left me waiting there for over an hour past my appointment time before starting my appointment. The blamed the other lady saying she came in and didn’t have an appointment but decided to still serve her?? They did buy me lunch for it though. Issues with touch up appointments: I was told I could buy the sessions (in my case, I purchased 6 laser hair removal sessions), and use whatever I wanted on a 6-8 week schedule, and whatever services I didn’t use I could use for annual touch ups in the future (laser hair removal often requires annual upkeep). When I advised last year that I was done with the schedule, and I would be back for annual touch ups, I was given flack. I had to physically sign a paper stating why I am delaying treatments. Note that you cannot be tanned for laser so winter is your only option for sessions unless you are a hermit anyways. Here I am, a year later, trying to get my touch up services, and I have been BLOCKED by the owner Riti when I reached out to ask what I had left for sessions. I contacted her on messenger (this is where we have communicated since I have been dealing with Kaya Kama) to find out how many sessions I had left, she read it within a minute of me sending it last night, then promptly blocked me so that I can no longer message her. I would also like to note that these services are quite pricey, AND PREPAID!!!!!!!!! Aka, they have my money, and are choosing to ignore me. They beg people to leave reviews and tell their friends, but service is really just not great. Riti was very sweet and kind, but just doesn’t seem to have business sense in terms of customer service. I would not recommend pre-paying for any long term services at this establishment. It’s a nice spa, if you are in and out for a day treatment, you might have better luck.

I don't typically review places, but "Kaya Kama Hammam & Day Spa" is definitely an exception. I'm very particular about how my eyebrows are shaped, and they do an absolutely amazing job. I have extremely sensitive skin as well, and the estheticians/staff are very knowledgeable about working around my needs/low pain tolerance. I've never had an issue with having to schedule or reschedule appointments and management has been very understanding and willing to accommodate. Everyone is super friendly as well! I'm definitely going to be come back here, for years to come!

The first time I booked a couple massage at this SPA, I submitted the claim to my insurance company ( I usually pay and like to submit my claims myself), my insurance company did NOT approve my claim as one of the supposed to be RMT ladies, wasn't RMT! So my insurance approved one and didn't approve the second one. I called the store and left a message to the owner three times over three weeks. No reply and no one answered. I let it go! It hurts to love a spa and want to go back but receive poor conflict management or problem resolution when you are faced with an issue.. Even if they offered an apology I would have been OK!

We booked Kaya Kama for a office/team event. Riti was so accomodating to what we were looking for and booked us all in on such short notice. When we arrived they had drinks and appetizers set up in the lounge for us and made us feel so welcome. Everyone (8 people) enjoyed their services (massage, facials, pedicures, manicures) so much. We left feeling relaxed and totally pampered. Thank you Riti and your entire team for the amazing experience. We will be back!!!!

It’s the best place for getting services done. Hemali the best person for waxing & pedicures/manicures. I personally had Worcester experience for Brazilian waxing other places but after seeing Huma - I can get my Brazilian from her any time. The best person for massage after Miketa (I personally miss her. She is the best. Currently away on her maternity leave) is Sangita Shaw. I would recommend her to my friends anytime. I use to go Courtyard Laser & Day Spa when Naila was there but the best place for me now is Kaya Kama. ????????????????????

I advise the owner to take some customer service courses because clearly you do not have any skills whatsoever! Very rude owner and no customer service skills. I would not have come here because the owner is bad but I only come because Huma is very kind and has lots of experience. But the owner is rude and has no customer service skills. I had an appointment scheduled for 3:00pm today and when I went to the spa they said that I didn't have one and instead it was tomorrow. I was originally going to have my appointment with Huma to do my underarms and face but instead a different girl did my underarms while Huma did my face. When I finished I went to pay and schedule my next appointment and the owner was at the register. I told her that I would not pay because a different girl did my underarms but I would pay for the face. She said she wouldn't charge me and I left. After two minutes later I got a call from the owner saying that she cancelled my next appointment because I didn't pay but she lied because she said she wouldn't charge me. When she cancelled my appointment she thinks that this is the only place to do waxing but there are so many other better places that are cheaper and have better service. I feel sorry for all the people working for her.

It was my first time here. While the website didn't really prepare me for what to expect from the Hammam Gommage (naked steam for 20 minutes, naked full body oil, exfoliation, and finished with a body clay mask) the whole experience really was wonderful. My skin was exceptionally soft afterwards. The facial and pedicure were equally soothing and fantastic. The relaxation massage I received was more therapeutic (which I appreciated) rather just some light touches that don't seem to do a thing. Nor was it a cringe inducing deep tissue massage. It was a perfect relaxation massage. Bravo to all of the ladies I dealt with...superb!

Rarely post reviews, but this place deserves one. We had hammam, massage and facial package, and not only it was more reasonably priced than most places, but the level of service was at par with all the swanky spas. I know it doesn't look like it on the outside, but the hammam and massage rooms have such a pleasant ambience with all those authentic bowls and decor details. I wish they had the pictures anywhere, so everyone could see. All in all I would say it's a great place if you value the contents over a package, because the people we've had a pleasure to deal with were all very caring and attentive, no unnecessary talk, just great service.

I arranged a day of treatments at what can only be described as a true gem of SPA. As a local I have many choices as to where to visit and I can honestly say when it comes to a 5 star experience in spa treatments you will find no better. The staff are welcoming, professional, and provide a service that is second to none. The Spa features beautiful decoration and relaxing treatment rooms.I would be coming back soon for another relaxing treat.

I usually do not post these types of review but have an excellent experience at Kaya Kama. After having a fabulous deep tissue massage, I decided to book a facial appointment.Staffs are incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to skin care. Had facial done here for the first time, the products used for my sensitive skin were high quality, It has been two weeks now I do not have any rash. What an amazing result! I am defiantly going back and would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Not a good experience at all. When I wanted a refund because I didn't have the time to come back and fix their mistake of putting uv top coat over regular nail polish on a subpar pedicure (it took 2 hrs for it to dry and it softened the polish and it just peeled off). . The owner Riti was rude, and inappropriatatly yelled and said NO!! No refund! Before I could even talk, and she just yelled overtop of me. Was a strange experience there and with the owner. She eventually agreed to refund ($60.00 on over priced, no 'milk bath' as stated and just not done well). Also just a warning that she might ask you to sign a 'waiver' that states you cannot post negative reviews. Lol totally not legit and was not signed. I would not recommend and will find a nicer professional spa like experience for my bd next year!!

I would highly recommend Kaya Kama if you are looking for the hair laser removal service. Only after first treatment I started seeing the results. Laser tech is very professional and I was explained everything what to expect during the treatment. It was very fast and painless as I was told during the consultation. I would highly recommend it.

Everyone is so professional and accommodating.Recently I started my Laser hair removal treatment.Only after first treatment I started seeing the results. The machine they got is very effective and really pain free and fast.I would highly recommend them not just for laser hair removal but for other service like Facial and Massage. Even though ownership has changed I still recieved the exceptional service that I have grown accustomed to over the past few years. I have been seeing Nursat for all my threading, waxing, mani, pedi, and facial needs. She is amazing at what she does. I highly recomend this spa!

I booked it because I wanted to experience something different, and boy was I pleasantly surprised! I loved how authentic it was. It reminded me of my trip to Morocco. While waiting I was able to get my eyebrows threaded and tinted super quick and they look AMAZING! Our massage was the best we have ever had in Edmonton and we will most definitely be going back to try some of their other services too! Afforable, clean, friendly, and super great vibe!

I would recommend that anyone go to this spa. The staff were professional and extremely welcoming. My esthetician went above and beyond what I would expect for my services. The products they used were gentle enough for even my extremely sensitive skin. My eyebrows were perfectly threaded and tinted. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and I will be going back.

They are similar to spas in Europe. One of a kind in Edmonton! Bring another set of underware if you don't want the thong they provide. Lose the vanity as you will be totally naked.

No owner calls a customer and cancels an appointment and tells them not to come back to their salon again. I was shocked when the owner called me and said that. You are just a big liar because you said that you wouldn't charge me for the service. Can you please provide me the email address that you used to confirm my appointment. I bet that you don't have it because I never received such email from you. I don't blame you. You are a new owner with a new business. You don't know how to run a salon properly and treat your customers in the right way. I told my friends and co workers that the owner called me and canceled my appointment and said to not come to the salon again. They were all shocked and thought I was joking.

Went there for the first time today, the service ambiance, cleanliness and hygiene is absolutely amazing. From the outside it looks small but when you get in it's so spacious. The owner is very sweet and friendly and Priyanka the lady that waxed me is absolutely sweet and good at her job. They don't double dip their wax sticks. My skin is sensitive and the wax they used was amazing. It's definitely worth the money

I've tried many spas in Edmonton but Kaya Kama is my favourite to go to. I am very picky with my services so I'm being truly honest when I say that for aesthetics they're the best. The spa itself is really clean and the waxing services are very sanitary (i.e. no double dipping). The pricing is fairly standard too. The owner Riti is super sweet and always willing to take me in on short notice. She's also a talented makeup and hair artist!

I am very sad to say that the quality standards have dramatically decreased with a change in management. I used to love this place! We arrived to a mess on a Monday -- the floors were in serious need of a vacuum, small white garbage bags were stuffed into corners and shelves, the makeup area was unkempt, staff belongings were strewn on chairs, and all the dirty hand towels from the weekend were piled in the bathroom bin. The RMT used what smelled like baby oil and was not careful with the sheet placement (exposed lower area if you catch my drift). I previously worked at a Massage Therapy clinic and this was not therapeutic massage quality, or safe for that matter. The face hole in the bed smelled, and the massage room was very cold. The reason I am giving 2 stars and not 1 is because of the esthetician. She did a wonderful job on my toes and was polite. Still a bit unsure about the hygiene of the tools and foot baths given the cleanliness of the rest of the place. :-| Overall very disappointed and sad, too. I remember coming into a little spa sanctuary in the past. They used to offer Ayurvedic treatments, and gave you tea and treats after your sessions. It was also immaculately clean from what I remember. Will not be returning.

Sadly, Kaya Kama has new owners and the place is not the same. The lack of professionalism is apparent from the moment you walk in. The “new owner” is too busy running around advising everyone that she’s the “owner” (who cares) instead of demonstating any form of customer service or skill set. The place isn’t as clean and no longer feels like a warm, welcoming spa. I will not be back.

To begin with the ambience is so soothing & relaxing. The 60 minute Kaya Kama personalised facials has been so relaxing. I have no idea where the time went, as the gentle hands worked upon my face. So relaxed, & love the glow. Very Professional. I am definitely coming back for more & I shall recommend it for sure.

My hubby and I had a wonderful day at Kaya Kama. It was our first time trying Hammam and we were both pleasantly surprised at how much we loved it. We followed up with massages and facials. All the staff were amazing. Can’t say enough about my massage. Tristian Threefinger’s massage was perfect! We will definitely be back the next time we are in the city.

This was the best massage I have ever had. Sangita Shaw wad a phenomenal massage therapist. She combines both traditional and modern techniques to give a style all her own. She makes sure that you leave feeling like a while new person. I highly recommend Sangita. Best massage therapist in edmonton.

Awesome staff and awesome service! I came to Kaya Kama 34th Avenue location three times three years back and again on Saturday, 6th October 2018. The first time I came, I got relaxation massage from a lady named Marina who seemed to incorporate elements of Russian or Ukrainian massage. She was good. Then the second and third time, I got relaxation massage from Sangita Shaw, who did an excellent job. Both the times I got massage from her, I slept for three days after. She was amazing! Then I came again yesterday and I met Riti Jain, who is often dressed up as a bride. Yesterday, I got a half hour pedicure from Manbeer, who was too funny! When she was starting my pedicure, she suddenly asked me if I needed my toenails colored! It was hilarious! Then after the pedicure, I got a half hour relaxation massage from Kiran, who also did an awesome job. She was so kind to advise me that her hands may be cold for me. But it was not bad at all. It was fantastic! I will surely come again!

It is an unbelievable experience, I just could not believe how neat and tidy the place is. Staff are extremely professional. It’s a very upscale hygienic environment to get yourself relaxed. Would suggest to take their signature Hammam/Gommage followed by massage and facial.Can't wait to be back

Everything from beginning to end was executed beautifully and flawlessly. This place is hidden gem. Manbeer, did a lovely job with my facial and pedicures. I received the best massage ever .it was beyond expectations. Carol is very smart and professional. Riti the owner is so friendly and charming. I can't wait to go back again! Highly recommend this place !
