I have been going to Exige to get massage and acupuncture treatments for some shoulder and back issues I've been having. I have to say that the quality of treatment is top notch and very effective. I always feel great coming out of the spa. Plus it's a beautiful facility, very classy and comfortable. The staff are all highly professional and very friendly. I always recommend Exige to my friends without hesitation because I know they will always get great service.

I ve had the pleasure of visiting Exige twice. The second Time I came in for a Thai massage , and I had some accupuncture done. WOW. I had been through a very stressful event, and I needed some pampering and healing. I left feeling like I died and went to heaven. I had the best sleep in weeks that night. The massage was amazing. The ambiance of the fascilities adds to it. So clean , and calm and relaxing. Dr. Amanda is consistently professional and knowledgable-her energy is welcoming and trusting. Best Massage Therapy Lucy is a miracle worker. Hands down the best massage therapist I’ve ever had. Excellent technique and very thorough. Her experience shows in her attention to details and understanding of anatomy. Perfect pressure throughout the entire massage. I would highly recommend Lucy! I'm pleased that this establishment has confirmed what many have been saying. I love that health and well-being forms the basis of the services they offer, but the spa-like ambiance is definitely appealing; it's the best of both worlds! Dr. Amanda's team of therapists are professional, pleasant and are focused on making sure you leave satisfied with the treatment. Dr. Amanda herself is very down-to-earth and knowledgeable; I appreciated that she took the time to sit down with me and discuss my concerns. Looking forward to my next visit!

My partner and I went for our first couples’ massage at this spa. We were new to the establishment and the reviews gave us high expectations; the facility and amazing massage therapists fulfilled every one of them; they truly lived up to all of the 5-Star ratings! They knew where the pain was and could intuit how to fix it. Furthermore they used techniques and offered massage options that were different and unique to anything I have experienced before. They also greet you with a hot towel infused with orange and tea tree and provide you with slippers so your feet don’t get cold. I could go on...but my best advice would be to try this place yourself! We are definitely coming back for a second heaping.

I’ve been coming here for a couple years with friends and family and everyone loves it! Clean, peaceful, respectful, and all around a wonderful experience! Their latest addition of the massage chairs offer incentive to show up early for your appointment and they even had a little snack waiting for me afterwards. Everyone seems to operate with a sense of pride and ownership. Booking appointments couldn’t possibly be easier, I usually do it via text message, how simple! That k you guys for being amazing!

Awesome service and super friendly staff. I visit Exige a couple times a month and I have to say this is one of the best if not the best place in the city to get a massage. The spa itself is super clean they give you a hot towel upon arrival and not to mention you get a lot of value for the price you pay. I would totally recommend this place!

My husband and I regularly have had couples massages for the last year in Edmonton. We moved 6 months ago and up until now, we have been driving to Edmonton, once a month for our massage. We live 2 hours from Calgary and 4 hours from Edmonton, but we enjoy an escape TO the city every so often. We decided to spend the day in Calgary and I ventured out to find a new massage place that was a bit closer but also gave us a reason to visit the city. I didn’t have high hopes in finding a couples massage on a Saturday with less than 24 hours’ notice but decided to try anyways. Luckily, the Calgary Stampede just started and Exige had some openings that worked great for us. The client service was wonderful! I chatted through their website and was able to book the couples massage right then. The Spa is located in Chinatown, so it’s very accessible. In this area, it can be hard to find parking, especially on the weekends, so be sure to arrive a bit early so you can find parking. The new client process is very smooth and they have online intake forms that speed the process up. If you choose not to fill out the online intake forms, be sure to arrive early so not to cut into your massage time. The process is very clear and precise so it’s at no fault of the Spa if you fail to arrive early and end up with less massage time. While you wait, they provide you with slippers and a hot towel for your hands. You then fill out a card that provides you with a bunch of options for your massage. Choose all the extras you want! – It’s worth it! For our couples massage, our massage therapists were very welcoming and helped us every step of the way. The massage was amazing! They continued to maintain good communication throughout the massage, making sure the pressure was right and that you are accommodated along the way. After the massage, they meet you in the waiting area and give their insight to your massage and recommendations between massages and also what you should focus on next massage. They also give you the opportunity for your feedback to ensure all of your needs have been met. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a wonderful experience. We already have our next appointment booked and plan on coming back monthly.

Thank you very much for everything!! I visited Exige medi spa recently for a 1 hour deep tissue massage and 1 hour reflexology and left feeling excellent. The physical demands of my work coupled with my athletic pursuits leave me feeling rigid to say the least, but as i got off the massage table i instantly felt rejuvenated. The staff were friendly and wonderful and i was amazed how my therapist zeroed in on my problem areas, muscles i have been trying to un knot with a foam roller for months. I also had the opportunity to meet with the owner Dr. Amanda Deip, who impressed me with her genuine passion for customer service and health in general. I cant wait for my next visit.

My wife and I were in town visiting family and Exige Medi Spa came highly recommended. We had a couples massage and it was exactly what we needed. The massage therapists were knowledgeable and the massage worked out our tight knots from the long work week. It is a bit hard to find, but was worth it in the end. It will be added to our agenda whenever we are in town. My only advice it to call and book in advance so that you are not disappointed.

Highly recommend Exige Medi Spa. I have visited Exige over the years, and their service is top notch. From the moment you check in and up to when you leave, they will take good care of you. Nice little touches like a warm hand towel awaits you, when you arrive for your appointment. A bottle of water just before you leave. Getting add ons to your massage, such as hot stones at no extra charge. Over the years I’ve tried their traditional Thai massage, relaxation massage and various other massages. Exige Medi Spa is a wonderful location for a Zen getaway in the middle of downtown Calgary. My favourite was having a grand view of the Bow River while having a foot massage in the middle of lunch hour! I've also had acupuncture treatments from Dr. Amanda Diep to help with some cosmetic imperfections and pain in my upper back and the treatments have helped tremendously! I have recommended Exige to many friends and they all continuously go back and have great things to say. Thank you, Exige!

My experience has been excellent so far. I am pretty fit (biking, running, lifting, yoga) and I use massage and acupuncture for maintenance. Dr. Amanda and her team have been excellent at helping me repair and maintain my body so that I can continue to be active. Exige Medi SPA!!! It is a wonderful place that you will always love to go back to get a thai massage, deep tissue massage or acupuncture. Because I spent most of my day sitting at work in front of a computer I often get pain on my back and neck, so the first time I went for a massage (3 years ago) I felt really relaxed and the pain was gone. Since then I always recommended it and until today I keep going without a doubt. For example, I convince my girlfriend to got a massage at Exige after she ran a full marathon and she said that they did an amazing and she felt the benefits right away. Overall going there is always a great experience because the people working there are very kind and very helpful, every time I go there they know how to work the areas where I felt pain and the results are very noticeable.

My sister-in-law was visiting from Vancouver where we always visit Big Feet for amazing and therapeutic foot massages. We have been trying to find a place equally as good in Calgary for quite awhile but most of the places that we google end up being high-end spas that are very expensive rather than therapeutic so you know it couldn't become part of your regular routine. Dr. Amanda's place, however, not only practices traditional eastern reflexology but provides you with a very Zen environment that leaves you feeling pampered (much prettier place than Big Feet). Extremely friendly and reasonably priced, I would not hesitate to recommend EXIGE. Can't wait to go back!

Had the most amazing foot massage (reflexology) ever in Calgary. The RMT was very good at finding the various knots in my feet and calf. When all said and done I felt like I was walking on a cloud. What is short in stature, light in weight, as sweet and cute as can be yet can take your body and put a beat down on it? Amanda's massage "thugs" at Exige Medi Spa - Natural Healing Spa. ???? I thought the bamboo sports massages we had there two days ago were brutal (effective) but we were wrong. Today Pete had a 90 minute combo (deep tissue and Thai) and I had a 90 minute deep tissue massage. We both came out of there saying the same things. "That was the most intense massage ever" "at times it was almost unbearable" "we've been beaten up". You don't need to go this intense, but for us, were not interested in anything but a highly therapeutic massage. We both have extremely tight muscles and relaxation will do nothing to alleviate this. This is a 5 star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ review for Exige and all their staff. The ambiance and the unique special touches do not go un-noticed and add so much to the experience. ❤️

I've been here multiple times for therapeutic body massages and each time has been a wonderful experience - Eric is amazing, along with the entire team that I've dealt with during booking and checking in. I have TMJ in my jaw and experience pain with the muscles in that area for many years. I've had intra-oral massages before, but its honestly very difficult to find therapists who will do them. Dr. Amanda made me feel very comfortable, kindly explained why I'm feeling discomfort and provided me with immense relief at the end of the massage. Even if you don't experience tightness in your jaw like I do, getting this type of massage by her would also help to alleviate migraines or headaches since there is so many muscles in the face alone. Many people would benefit from getting this done and there is no better place in the city who will provide high quality service such as this place. The staff here are all extremely professional and the overall decor and atmosphere is so relaxing. I highly recommend going to Exige!

Endured a RUBBER GLOVED foot reflexology (1 hour). Yes, the massage therapist used gloves the entire time and seemed at a loss as to what to use the hot stones for. Earlier in the day I had endured a rough back massage from a therapist who ignored my instructions to focus 100% of the time (1.5 hours) on my upper shoulders (muscles at base of neck to shoulder - the owner is not in a position to comment on the appropriateness of the service requested vs. performed as she was not privy to my discussion with the therapist). Catalina would have known what I was asking for, but sadly she has left the establishment. This service request has been honored in the past - in fact, in December 2018, Grace provided an exceptionally good massage of the same area, with a recommendation for a repeat session to ease the tension in the area. After the most recent massage was done (where the therapist did whatever she wanted) , she proceeded to recommend that for the next treatment I request for 30 min massage on the right shoulder where there was lots of tension. Wasn't that why I asked for neck/shoulder massage - because I knew what needed to be worked on? I would not recommend Exige go forward. I have one more appointment to go (to avoid being charged for a no show or late cancellation) then I'm voting with my feet! I have already cancelled two other previously scheduled appointments. Using a pseudonym for this review and the review on TripAdvisor but happy to provide details if Exige is interested. In fact, I have text mesage conversations with the owner where I raised all the issues highlighted here so no fake review here. The reviews on Google and TripAdvisor are intended to be anonymous...a right I exercised. I did not hold Exige hostage to a one star review nor have any discussion with Exige about posting any negative reviews online prior to doing so. I have text messages to prove it. The experiences I refer to above occured one or two days prior to the posted review....so I am lost as to Exige's assertions of being held hostage to a one star review for "long".....????..and the fake relief! In fact, Exige violated the Alberta privacy act in management response to the TripAdvisor review. I was also overcharged for three appointments and a refund was issued on the 4th appointment (retroactively) only after I expressed concern about pricing. In response to the owner's comment on the usage of gloves to prevent the spread of infection, perhaps Exige should go the extra mile and issue disposable slippers to clients, as recommended on the AHS Be Spa Safe checklist. Currently, fabric slippers are shared from client to client exposing clients to transference of nail fungi, warts, etc. Beats the purpose of using gloves for the foot massage while the infections are still prone to happen to EVERY client as every client has to wear the shared fabric slippers! Rather than be defensive and defiant, Exige should admit they dropped the ball on this one and move on! With over 15 hours of satisfactory massage therapy with Exige, I hardly count as a challenging client. I don't know where to begin. Dr.Dee got all the right places. She was able to explain to me why my shoulder was in such pain and what was truly wrong with it. She took her time to make sure all the knots were out, she checked to make sure the pressure was good throughout, I went in sore as sore could be, but left feeling like a million bucks. You can tell by the time she took and the technique she used that she's got the experience and love for her job that we all hope our therapist has. The environment is calming, welcoming and clean. A very clean and calm small place for getting massages. Very well skilled professional massage therapists which is most important part for me - their technique is more than 5 star for sure. They don't charge any extra fee for providing hot stone massage, steam towel, cupping, etc. They also pay back your parking fee which is great. The parking area is just in front of the massage shop so it's very convenience. Their online booking system and chatting services are great. They quickly answer your questions via email as well. One star off because they did a mistake from my last visit. I have contacted them before my massage day and make sure that I don't need to fill out medical form so I arrived there just right before my booking time. But they required to fill out the form again and I explained but they couldn't find my file. I ended up to spend some time to fill it out again and I was late almost 15 min to get my massage session. I hope they improve their customer's data management system and they need to effectively communicate with their customer care admins/front-desk staffs. Some additional info you might want to know is that they don't do direct billing with insurance so you have to pay up front.But they quickly send an email with invoice attached so you can claim it by yourself later. It's a open space with closed the curtains around and you can't really speak when you get inside. So you better communicate and explain your needs with your therapist before you get into the room. Overall, a good place for relaxing massages and I am considering to visit there soon again.

I've been to Exige Medi Spa many times in the last 2 years and have benefited so much from the Deep Tissue and Traditional Thai massage. Gary has been my therapist - his technique is exceptional, as is his communication. He checks in several times to ensure that the pressure is just right and makes adjustments if required. I love all of the extras - warm towel, slippers, coconut oil, the spa setting and the view of the river. I also recommend the Acupuncture treatments - I've never been to a place where massage is part of the acupuncture treatment - before, during and after.

I have given an average 3 star for the following reason 5 star for therapist Nyui 2 star for therapist Judi 1 star for the unhelpful front desk Since we moved to Calgary in 2019, I have been a regular client to this place for deep tissue massage. I love this place and therapist Nyui. But this time they told me that she was completely booked until end of july and suggested therapist Judy. I was a bit skeptical, but the lady on the phone assured that I can stop anytime within the first 30 minutes and walk out with no charge if I am not satisfied. Since my past experiences have been good, I took it anyway. Judy was rushing through the entire time. She spent a quick minute to check through the form to decide how much time she would spend on each section of my back and legs depending on my markings. When I was on the table, she wouldn't let me talk to her if I had anything to say regarding my pain. All I was allowed to communicate was if the pressure that she applied was fine with me or no. When she was about to massage my shoulder and neck area, I told her that I have a herniated disc and she should keep that in mind while working in that area. She shut me out and said I cannot say anything other than if pressure she applied was good By this time, it was 45 minutes through the session and I lost my chance of refund. Overall, I walked out with a swollen neck and more pain. And they have given me an appointment with Nyui for July 14th now. I don't know how that happened. As of yesterday, Nyui was not available until the end of july, and suddenly now that they messed my back up , they have a spot available mid july. They are taking advantage of the COVID situation and ripping off clients with any random therapist. This was completely unlike a Calgary experience, where people are always looking for ways to help. There was no word of apology or refund or discount for next appointment. A word of caution, do not take the appointment with a new therapist unless you are new to this place.

One of the best massages of my life. I saw Binxiang Wang (she goes by "Dee"). I have been super sore in my upper back and shoulders and requested a sports massage with a bamboo stick. It's been so sore that I have had to adjust my workouts to avoid the area for a while, and I have had pain when I sleep on my side. The whole experience was fantastic. Dee was lovely and professional. The extra services that you can add on to your session are fantastic. She also recommended and performed cupping to help loosen things up. It was intense but worth every second of it. Dee was polite and consistently made sure that the pressure was good. Really thorough and addressed all of the spots I asked for. I will absolutely be going back and would recommend Exige in a heartbeat.

My fiancé and I absolutely love going for couples massages at Exige! Nui is my preferred therapist, as she really pays attention to the tough spots in my back, and has the right pressure for me. I love the hot stones and the cupping! I always feel like a new person after her massages. That being said, all of the massage therapists are wonderful! Everyone is friendly, caring and incredibly skilled in their practice. We have made going to Exige a monthly tradition and always get lunch in China Town after. I'm a picky person for massaging... This place has exceeded my expectations. I tried 2 different therapists. Both were very good. I like a very defined and detailed massage and I like it very deep. They were able to deliver without any problems. They also have a neat feature where they get you to fill out a card showing where your trouble spots are or the spots that you want them to focus on. They also sit with you before and after the massage to discuss what you want and and to review the service. I would strongly recommend EXIGE, they make you feel very safe, and relexed. The spa experience is really nice. My only complaint is finding the spa, it is inside the building on the main floor. It does not have a front entrance to the street (go into the building and then find the spa, kinda feels like going into a mall - very easy to find when inside)

This was my first time at Exige, and will most definitely be going back. I have been to a few different massage places because I just cant seem to find one that makes me feel good, I seem to be in pain after I leave, so I found Exige and thought I would give them a try. I have arthritis in most of my body, work at a desk job and am not an overly active person (mostly due to pain). I had my second treatment last night and this morning I can honestly say was the first time in many, many months that I felt like I had energy as my pain level was down about 75% from the day before. I’ve had the pleasure of watching EXIGE Medi Spa grow since its conception, both in patient satisfaction and demand. When I am in Calgary, there is absolutely no other place I would ever consider going. I keep petitioning Dr. Amanda to open another location in BC, but I know she takes a personal interest ensuring every experience at EXIGE is perfect every time. Not an easy thing to do, but somehow EXIGE manages to pull it off. There is simply something about the energy at EXIGE- I feel relaxed just by stepping through the doors, even before my session begins. The entire staff is consistently professional and sincere, seemingly difficult traits to find in tandem. Recently, I heard that Anthony Pettis visited EXIGE! I have to be honest, it is kind of an awesome feeling getting a massage at the same place (by the same practitioners) as a world class UFC champ! I wish I was there that day to get his autograph. Traditionally, I do not give out 5 stars…but EXIGE Medi Spa is a rare exception. Well done and keep up the good work. Oh, and please open a location in BC!

Given the price point of services, my expectations were high. I was expecting the best foot massage of my life, but instead I left feeling very disappointed. I would not recommend and will not return. I requested a light pressure relaxing foot massage and received a therapeutic deep pressure massage which left my feet sore for 3 weeks. I did not care for the open air environment which discourages open communication. I appreciate the front staff, Heather, was very friendly and welcoming. Suggestions: masseuse should check in with their clients during the massage, clearly communicate details of where to park for validation ahead of the appointment, and include a booking confirmation link clients can click through to confirm their appointments so we don't receive 6 different emails and text message reminders.

I was recently referred to Dr Amanda by a friend in early July of this year. In short, I was experiencing a painful breakout of hives for no apparent reason (at least to me, that is). I was feeling pretty miserable to say the least, and as much as I like and appreciate my family doctor, I was at my wits end – unwilling to take any more pills and lotions. I was desperate for a solution. After a couple consultations and a lot of questions, Dr Amanda believed that I was experiencing Adrenal Fatigue. I was shocked. First, I'd never heard of it! Second, how could it happen to me? I'm young, 44, strong willed, strong minded, positive thinking, ex-military, ex-athlete, former personal trainer and now… a professional business coach and speaker with a thriving practice. How could I ever have an issue with something like Adrenal Fatigue? I looked it up this “Adrenal Fatigue.” I read a lot... and realized very quickly, Dr Amanda was 100% right. I was definitely experiencing Adrenal Fatigue. It's now been 6 weeks since we first spoke and I feel amazing. I'm eating better, a whole lot better. I'm sleeping better than ever before, feeling completely rested after a proper night's sleep. I truly feel like a new man. I'm not 100% yet, I realize I have a way to go to regain my health. I still haven't been able workout like I used to. That's okay, one day at a time. The good news is, I'm no long scratching my hands, legs, feet, arms, back, chest, face (and everywhere else I was getting hives) with my wife's hair brush. Nor am I taking nasty medicine and creams. THANK YOU Dr Amanda. I look forward to working with you more as I look to new health and fitness goals. You have been and continue to be an inspiration! Very unique experience! The “reception” area is not like the ordinary. The interior is so calming and unlike the usual rooms with doors, there are individual “tents” instead. The service was exceptional; they took the time to explain/discuss with me in detail and offered me a hot towel for my hands. There are massage chairs inside too!

Had a couples massage with my partner for my birthday. The experience as okay, but not worthy of a five star rating. The therapists were pretty good, but couldn't communicate very well in english so there was no checking to see if the pressure was good or anything. Some people walked into the room while the massage was ongoing and I was left alone for a few minutes while the therapist dealt with them. This I didn't appreciate. Also, there's something fishy going on with the therapists credentials. I doubt very much that both of these therapists were registered, it looks like they just have a registered therapist signing off on the receipt because I received an email a day later that was signed. Anyway, experience was meh. Not sure why there are so many 5 star ratings. EDIT: I will respond to your rambling and very defensive response (tip: if you break things into paragraphs, it's much easier to read): 1) The pressure of the massage was okay, but it still stands that there wasn't much communication because of a language barrier. I look at massage as not just relaxation, but a therapeutic treatment. The therapists didn't do any assessment of posture or any discussion on my goals for the session (other than the usual form that you fill out). However, I don't need a refund so don't worry about it, but thanks. I just won't be returning. 2) There was an interruption in the massage, doesn't matter how long it was. It was still an interruption and there was no "excuse me for a minute" or "sorry about that ...". 3) I don't know who provided my service because I was never given a name, a business card or anything so I can't say whether the person was certified. Anyway, if it's legit, that's great, but I still got a strange feeling that something wasn't forthcoming. And no I'm not going to come in and audit your whole team. I stand by my rating as well. There are so many options in Calgary and I've been to better. Therefore, in my opinion, your business doesn't deserve a 5 star rating. Maybe you think you're 5 stars worthy, but I don't. I didn't bring up your location, but since you did, yes this contributes to my lower rating as well. Sorry, but that plays a part in how people rate things. Feel free to respond further or not, but in the end, to people who might be reading this review, IT'S OKAY here. 3 stars.

I've had three massage treatments at Exige now and I've been blown away every single time. I have typically hated any type of massage in the past, primarily because I'm weak and it hurts; however, after my first sessions with one of the therapists, though it was a bit painful, I can't get enough!! I feel my shoulders craving for some deep pressure and relaxation and have felt a lot more relaxed in general. If you've never been to Exige before, they offer a variety of options and you can choose a massage treatment that is suited to your needs. Therapists will focus on any area(s) that need relaxation or just a full body focus. The first time at Exige, I tried a combination of full body deep tissue and relaxation. This including some stretching at the end as well which was actually very relieving. My second appointment, I decided to try their Traditional Thai massage. I LOVED it! The therapists goes through a set of different yoga movements and stretches with you and it feels phenomenal. If you ever need that extra stretching after a workout or in general, this just feels so good and you know that you're getting a full body stretch!! Traditional Thai is definitely not a massage appointment you can fall asleep in. My third appointment was full body, all relaxation. The pressure and tempo were perfect and allowed me to fall asleep and forget about the responsibilities and stresses of life. The pressure wasn't too hard and sometimes you need just a bit of pressure to feel relaxed. Dr. Amanda provides phenomenal support for her clients and if you ever have any questions in regards to health or if you're unsure of what treatment to do, she will sit and chat with you about the different options and accommodate to your needs. And the therapists are wonderful. They are consistent throughout their appointments and will always make it their priority to focus on the areas that you have requested. 10 stars for Exige. Definitely could use another full body relaxation massage next week!! Definitely give it a try if you haven't!!

You can book with anyone on staff and you're going to get a great experience - everyone on staff is so intuitive to what you need. They've recently added a card to fill out at the start of your massage to highlight areas to focus on, preferred pressure and if you'd like any of the free add-ons - coconut oil, hot stones, aromatherapy, heat lamp... Enjoyable and relaxing massage experience at Exige Medi Spa! Having had massage therapy at many different places in the city, I can say this is a unique spa environment to Calgary. The treatment space utilizes natural light coming through large bay windows looking out upon the river paths to great effect. I had the combo treatment, which features a deep tissue massage followed by 15 minutes of Thai massage stretching at the end - fantastic. Exige also allows you to add on a huge variety of enhancements to the massage for free, including hot stone. The space is peaceful, the massage therapists are highly skilled, and when you are done, you can relax in a reclined chair next to the windows and take in that beautiful river view! Definitely recommend.

We weren’t very knowledgeable about all the different types of massages so the front staff explained everything we needed to know! We arrived a little too early so she let us wait in the electronic massage chairs before our actual massage! Calgary's incredible hidden treasure! I wish more people knew about this gem of a spa. Dr. Amanda custom tailors a treatment just for your specific needs. As a performer from out of town, it was great to find someone who could use the right blend of acupuncture and massage so I could keep dancing/performing for a very long run of our show. Apparently, Exige requires new clients to provide ID as per "the requirement of the health associations they belong to for insurance purposes". I reminded the receptionist that I had indicated that this was not to be expensed via insurance as I had indicated in my intake form. She repeated the same line. First time I've heard of this from a massage parlour. PS: I was only informed on arrival. No prior notice. I was bemused as I had recently visited Leela Eco Spa as first timer, with claim expensed via insurance, and no one asked for ID. I recorded the conversation with the receptionist for my records...and declined their service and requested she cancel my appointment. Ridiculous. This was a classic case of profiling. I made my way to another establishment where I was warmly received.

I primarily go for maintenance but when I feel particularly sore/tight from my desk job she always provides major relief. I did the junior therapist session, 60 minutes for 60$. It was absolutely exquisite. I love how they ask you what areas of the body they should focus on at the beginning and they have many free add ins like aromatherapy or hot rocks. I had Lily and she is so talented and graceful. I have had other massages and they are too rough or they talk too much, so this for more was shockingly amazing, totally different in the best way. The other reviews are right, the atmosphere is the most calming and peaceful and it smelled so good.

Having been recommended to see Dr. Amanda by Mr. Scott, my experience with Exige has been nothing less than great. Having had shoulder surgery, the recovery was a slow process, but with help from Dr. Amanda through acupuncture and massage the shoulder is pain free. Rage of motion has also improved. Also work done on my hips has helped a great deal. Dr. Amanda will take time to discuss what particular area you need work on, and come up with a plan to correct the issue. I usually try to keep myself in shape with no aches or pains and if I do it goes away in a day. Last December I have had a family emergency and on weekends I have been sleeping in the hospital and foolish me thinking I can sleep on one of their couches and reclining chairs. This has cause me a lower back ache growing each week thinking it would simply go away but 2-3 months have passed it got so bad I couldn't get off my bed nor put on my socks. Exige was recommended to me by a friend and with my busy schedule I was putting this off until I couldn't handle my back ache anymore, I almost didn't make it that appointment day from work but I somehow managed to make it. There are lots of parking outside the building and when I entered Exige... I stepped into a very tranquil place. Just the right amount of light entered through the window and the whole room filled with relaxation music. The staff was amazing, very gentle yet gave me a deep tissue massage that removed the back ache I have had through past months. It was so relaxing I almost fell into a deep sleep. Then I heard a light voice your time is up. I didn't want to leave the SPA at all. I am a dancer and highly recommend EXIGE to my friends and family. I don't usually promote but this is something I truly believe everyone should do.. till this day my back ache is gone, and back to dancing... Thank you for amazing staff and service.

Ive had many massages in my life, Exige makes them all look like the 10 second not-super-into-it massages my husband gives me when I ask him to rub my shoulders. EXIGE ABSOULTELY FAR AND AWAY, HANDS DOWN, THE NICEST PLACE IVE BEEN TO. Let's break it down 1. A great system for customizing your massage, you can choose exactly what kind of massage you want ( relaxation, therapeutic, deep tissue, Thai yoga are just some of them) and then you can add whatever you want, aromatherapy? Sure can! Hot stone? OF COURSE! All the hot towels you could possibly want? YEP! Cupping? OH YEAH. 2. I gotta say, the staff are beyond incredible, everyone is super sweet and kind and genuinely seem to care about how your experience was 3. The actual spa is BEAUTIFUL it's actually super relaxing and just generally one of the nicest places I've been 4. The actual massage was amazing, it was relaxing, she frequently asked how the pressure was and found things I didn't even know were hurting me. SUMMARY: I love it here, I would live here if they would let me. Its wonderful.

Dr Amanda is an amazing TCMD and has so much acupuncture experience that I can always trust her to do what’s best for my overall health. Based on all the great reviews, my daughter and I decided to give Exige a try. We have tried many different spas and Exige is one of the most relaxing ones that we have to. Check in was friendly, warm towels for the hands were a nice touch. Both of us had the Thai foot massages. The massaging chairs were wonderful and the view was so peaceful and serene. Perfect amount of pressure, both Jovelyn and Solongo were very conscious of our needs. It felt like we escaped to Asia - even if it was only for a little bit. We will be back and can’t wait to try the other treatments.

As an example: I had sharp pain in my shoulder and couldn't raise my arm for days. Amanda cured it with just 2 sessions of the acupuncture and deep tissue massage, she removed most of the scar tissues that impaired me for years. Patricia is an amazing RMT and even gave me feedback about my problem areas after my treatment. The massage I had was the therapeutic (medium pressure) one, and consisted of some extras which included cupping, hot towel body cleanse, etc (Pretty much the works). I have been in four times now for a massage. The first three times were to get a Thai massage. I enjoyed the more strenuous and additional stretching that comes with it. The ladies that performed the massage were well skilled and friendly. Last month I went for a relaxing massage. I indicated on the form that I needed focus on the upper back and on my calves. When I arrived the lady said she would do the first half hour and another young lady would do the second half hour. I said okay and went in. The first half hour was excellent. The lady was a veteran and worked out my upper back very well. The second lady came in and switched without me barely noticing. She gave my feet a pretty good massage but never got to the calves. The last 10 minutes of the massage were awkward. She attempted to massage the shoulders and my scalp but seemed either nervous or inexperienced. I think the switch was to give the new girl some training but I'd rather not be the guinea pig. Still, I will return because more often than not, the massage is good, the location is good and the environs is great.

Amazing Thai massage techniques incorporated into standard massage; and judging by other reviews - not seen or known prior to first few visits - this place has some world renowned practitioners (and I can understand why!) The best part is the education and feedback they provide with respect to the treatment and follow-up. I still can't decide whom is my favourite therapist there because they're all so great from those I've had the delight to experience a massage. You're also given all these extra add-ins at your choice per checklist prior to start, where you can also identify which areas you may need particular attention, at no additional cost, so check away on those you might fancy and dont feel shy about doing so; in fact at my first visit, I felt it was wrong to select any other than just one and the therapist was extremely encouraging to check off any others I might like. You're treated well and professionally. Dont be shy to state a preference before and/or during your treatment as ultimately they want to ensure you have the best treatment possible, from the therapists up to management! Do speak up if you need more or less pressure - dont wait till after to state you didn't like something but kept quiet, do the practitioners- and yourself- a huge favor and offer feedback if you feel it's needed; trust me, they can handle the direction easily and it will make it better for all. I wouldn't go anywhere else now since going to Exige. Keep up the great work!!

Wonderful! I had never had massage therapy before and was a little skeptical of its efficacy (but my friends told me to get over myself, and my colleague recommended Exige, so...). I was a little apprehensive because I didn't know the routine. Dr. Amanda took my initial phone call and greeted me herself when I arrived. She explained everything and took care of my insurance. Her natural manner is sooooo caring and understanding. I felt comfortable. Okay, but what about results? Oh my goodness....after living with lower back strain (from my job) for two years, I was a new person! I could walk and bend without pain or fear of pain. Okay, the fear took a few minutes to diminish, because I couldn't believe it. Dr. Amanda made me better; she made me feel welcome and comfortable, and I made another appointment before leaving. I have been coming here for years: since Exige opened. Last few massages I had here, in this past year were with April. She consulted and listened to my needs, asked me questioned and gave me wonderful suggestions to help with my issue.. I have a few different message therapists over the years and they have all been excellent. Heather at the front desk is lovely as always. This place has always been top notch: they know how to be in service and provide a stress free experience. Isn't this partly why we get massages? My husband and I had a couples' massages at Exige while on our honeymoon, and we found the entire experience rejuvenating from start to finish. I had a combination deep tissue/traditional Thai massage with Jovelyn, who left me feeling blissful and like I had a new set of muscles. She was very efficient in finding my tense spots and using a variety of methods to melt my tension away. She also checked in with me periodically (but not in a distracting way) to see how I was feeling and how her pressure was (it was consistently just right for me). I'm glad I went with the combo massage and hot stones- it was a nice balance of kneading and stretching, and I appreciated how thoughtful Jovelyn was in integrating the different parts of the massage. My husband and I also appreciated that we were able to be together in the same room while having different massage experiences that were totally customized to each of us. Our only disappointment is that we can't take Exige home with us!

I have been very lucky to have been referred to Exige Medi Spa for many of my lingering hockey injuries. I went to this spa yesterday and had one of the best spa experiences I have ever had. Catalina was my therapist and she was wonderful. We discussed what I was hoping to get out of the session ahead of time and she hit all the marks! The extras like aromatherapy, coconut oil, hot stones and warm towels are the icing on the cake and there is no upcharge. This is the first place I have been to that charges for time not by the service which is a very unique idea. You can incorporate all these extras instead of paying for multiple sessions. The atmosphere was very peaceful and tranquil. I would highly recommend this spa to everyone and the bonus is that is very reasonably priced as well. I will be back!

I’ve been here several times already and I usually go to Dee... she’s great! My boyfriend goes to someone else but we both find that the therapists here are very attentive to your needs; you fill out a slip indicating your preferred areas and massage-style. During the massage, you’re often asked if the pressure is appropriate (I especially love this!). The therapists follow your preferences to the T! These constant practices are what make Exige’s massages personalized to every unique customer. I also like how Exige emails and personally texts me reminders. Very helpful! The only downside is that they don’t direct bill, but my insurance provider is very quick with reimbursement so it’s not really a nuisance. It’s the consistency and quality in service that makes me keep coming back. Thank u Exige!

We have been to many medical spas for massages and this was our first time at exige. We got the deep tissue massage and the pressure was just right for myself. The environment is relaxing and we really enjoyed the extras such as the mineral heat lamp, hot towel and especially the hot stones! My massage ended with a face massage which threw me off. Since it was my first time I wasn't sure if it was normal but my boyfriend said he didn't receive it. Personally I wouldn't ever ask to have this done especially at the end of the massage when the hands are covered in oil after massaging the body parts. If anything, it should be performed first. Overall the massage was good, the only reason we gave 4 stars is because they included our check in time with our massage. Although we arrived 5 minutes early they cut our massage 5 minutes short not including time to change so for the actual massage it was only 50 minutes, not 60. We also felt a bit rushed when leaving as the next customers were there. EDIT: I would just like to say I did not appreciate the owner's response. I left feeling overall good to now feeling less than satisfactory about the whole experience. To provide further remarks... Regarding the face massage. In the many whole body massages I've received this was my first which included a face massage. Regardless, this did not affect my rating. It was simply feedback about concerns that one might have. And so you know, the breakdown of time for certain specific areas on the treatment plan was not specified by myself. This was done by one of your members as I did notice these times written on the form after the massage. Regarding the massage time. Your apology that the appointment was cut short by 2 minutes was more offensive than it was sincere, let alone inaccurate. It was a snarky remark and an attempt to prove me wrong. Had it been only 2 minutes I would not have commented. To note, there was a little black digital clock right in front of the massage table...The 50 minutes I noted was based on looking at the time from the moment I layed down to the moment it ended. This would be a more accurate measure of actual massage time vs walking in and out of the room especially if you were to allow for guests to lay or stretch out for a minute before putting their clothes on and exiting the room, as we did. If we are accountable for all time from entering and exiting the room, this is another problem. It takes away from guests being able to enjoy and relax but rather feel rushed. Additionally, I noticed after my massage that the treatment time was noted on the form from 4:55 to 5:55, further supporting the time the clock started for the treatment, although we walked into the room at 5:00 per the surveillance? Plus a minute or two to undress and settle. In the end, forgetting the details, yours vs. mine, pushing blame to your customer of being petty over 2 minutes is not good customer service!

In the heart of down town Calgary, this fine Zen clinic offers the finest in acupuncture, deep tissue massage, nutrition, counselling and Thai massage. Hands on, professional, caring: Dr. Amanda Diep and her expert staff took me from despair, wanting to leave my business and home, unable to cope with pain, to functioning once more as a professional. I had several severe injuries from a bull compounded by a snow accident last winter. It's been 10 months of intensive rehab and work, but I'm off tylenol, pain killers, cycling once more and have the will and ability to work a full day. Trust her and her style. Western physiotherapy left my spine bruised, all the powerful drugs I was given never helped me. I was at my wits end and did not know where to turn. Until I found Dr. Amanda Diep and her alternative Eastern healing arts. Don't suffer in pain any more. You have nothing to risk except losing your pain. I have not looked back since. Western medicine does not have all the answers.

First time coming here for a head/scalp therapeutic deep tissue massage (wasn’t informed that the prices given were different but I didn’t mind) because I often have headaches and migraines from stress and other things. Amazing deep tissue massage with Anh. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted with a warm towel and slippers. If you are looking for a full hour deep tissue massage, this is the place to go. Hot stone, warm towels, cupping, and much more. I have been to many massage clinics and therapists and this is the best place in Calgary. Anh listens very well to your concerns and applies the right amount of pressure. Her technique is wonderful and finds out where your troubled areas are and works hard at relieving tension in that area. I will be going back many more times as the service and quality of massage is exceptional.

Exige is a gem in Calgary, hidden in the depths of Calgary's Chinatown, the location is cozy and always is a wonderful experience from the front staff (eg. Jasmine) to Dr Amanda who's always very welcoming. She often is there to assist her staff during busy times and never hesitates to chat and talk. My wife and I loves to visit often, many of the Massage Therapists are spectacular (eg. Lucy, Nui, and Patricia are to name a few). Update July 2019; Still going here once a month minimum and although my masseuse has changed, the quality and service hasn’t. Still exceptional. There is no competition. If you can get in, you should. My wife and I have been going to Exige for around a year now; and after every massage we have said we will write a review - something we never do. But that's how good this place is. The staff are relaxing and friendly, the ambiance is relaxing and friendly. It's somewhere you can go to take an hour out of your life and return to it rejuvenated. I have only ever had Gary as a masseuse, and I wouldn't have anyone else ever again. I have a therapeutic massage at least once a month, and he always finds the knots, and destroys them, allowing me to once again move freely and painlessly like a sprightly 30-something should. PERFECT experience!! Exige is the only spa out of the many I have been to that actually transports me to the relaxing oasis I crave. I went with my partner who got 30 mins extra massage. While I was waiting for him I got to wait in a quiet space in a massage chair with a bottle of water and a super soft blanket. The space has huge windows that allowed me to observe the river walk pathways and totally zen out. Not to mention I had just received the best massage I'd ever had! The spa also smells amazing- yet not too overpowering. I couldn't say any negative things about this place. Definitely recommend to those who need a truly relaxing experience.
