A good place but note it is in the top far east corner of Toronto. I wanted 4 wheel rim and the first time I called they said come in to the location and order them but they were in the New York yard so would have to come back next day or so to pick up. Did have the time to do that so called again after a week and spoke to Marco who did send me a pay-on-line-link. I paid and picked up the next day. So question, is Marco the only one who can send an online link? The place is organized and runs well. Note I was getting wheel rims for a minivan so a common item I could understand if it was an unusual parts

Don't ever buy used parts from them as they are selling defective parts to the public as i experienced when i purchased not 1 but 2 of the same part from them and was going to have Midtown Honda install a Throttle Body Assembly in my daughters Honda SUV, they would not install it because both Assemblies were DEFECTIVE. I had it checked by another mechanic and the diagnosis was the same. I was able to get a used part from JN Auto Repair in Scarborough installed and not a Defective part that Standard Auto Wreckers sold me for 300.00 Labour Included and the part has been working great with an added Warranty to boot.

Quick reply to my inquiry, part delivered as promised, decent website that matches Google searches with the proper part and does not give you a page where you have to start from scratch with vehicle details, etc. I had a dead alternator and a search provided a link to a page on their site. After asking for a quote, the sales manager replied by the next morning (I had requested the quote on Sunday night) confirming that the part matched. Good price too, about 1/2 of what I would have paid for an OEM rebuild and 1/3 for something on Ebay or Amazon. Payment was quick through their secure site and the part was duly dropped off the following morning. Delivery is $25 but that's not too bad when my car is sitting dead! Very professional. I'll definitely look to them for parts in the future.

They offered a very fair price for our well-loved 2003 VW Passat - "Mr. Blue" - the car in which we took our first baby home! (and our first car with air conditioning.) Blair was extra kind to help Mr. Blue down the narrow driveway and to give our son Mr. Blue's flip-key as a memento. Standard Auto Wreckers also goes above and beyond by planting a tree in partnership with cartree.ca. Knowing that his parts will help other cars, and he'll be recycled for new cars makes it a fitting end for such a wonderful vehicle. We all sang "Taps" as Blair drove Mr. Blue away. RIP Mr. Blue! Not good, it seems EVERY Saturday throughout the summer is "all you can carry day" for $50. They aren't open during the weekend but for Saturday, and during the week it's 8-5 or something. So today, Saturday (as I work for a living), I went to go get a specific bolt. Would they let me in to do that? No. $50 for a bolt. So basically, Standard is useless for used parts unless you need an engine and a door and are strong and willing to pay the $50 admission.

Well organized yard. Nice and friendly staff. The price lists are now posted online on their website. Most vehicles are raised off the ground which makes removing parts underneath the vehicle very easy. There are wheelbarrows and four-wheeled wagons available if you don't feel like lugging your tools around. Pricing is competitive and they have all you can pull days in the warmer months. The u-pic yard is not open Sundays during the colder months. Inventory updates are posted on Facebook and even walk around videos are posted during all you can pull days. Great to have this yard open again after being closed for so many years. My first stop before heading to the parts store!!!

I came in today after speaking to a representative. I have a part I paid for that i remove from a vehicle in the yard and the part did not fit, I explain to someone on the phone and let them know I also haven't found the receipt, she inform me that its OK and it be fine to bring back the part. When I got there they further explain that it only applies for parts they sell in Stock I would need the receipt, what a waste of time If I knew I needed it I would of spent time looking for it rather then waste two hours travelling and accomplish nothing

Great place to find scrap cars. On special days you are allowed to pay a flat rate and take as many parts as you can carry out with your hands, which is great if you need something big or pricey, because this way you can get it at the flat rate rather than the full price for a used part. They also have a parts store where they take the parts out and have a certain amount of stock. Great place to shop if you have a used or older vehicle and not wanting to spend full price for a part. Hopefully they have what you need in stock though.

Great price, the vehicles are labelled clearly, and the walkways are at least two persons-wide. There was a gentleman outside of the entrance who even helped me load up my purchase! Had a car that we were replacing but couldn't get a decent price from a dealer. Not only did Standard Auto give us a fair price for the car, but they picked it up from our place for no charge. Gail was quick to respond to questions and Blair did a great job making things easy and safe. They are very responsive to COVID protocols and didn't complain about wearing masks or having to modify procedures. It seems trivial, but compared to our experience at the dealership it is nice to see a business having my safety top of mind. Absolutely would recommend to others.

I really found the sales and costumer service are not in conjunction , I have found the part I was looking and before purchasing I requested to have a look the part so I went personally and asked if I can check the part first to make sure I am buying the right part I have been taken to the lot and inside a dark C can without light and I used my Iphone flash light to have a look at the part I wasn't sure I checked it was Ok , while I paid and requested to have the delivered , they put my request on my invoice and since that day , when I called to find about the status parts shipping I was dealing with a group of people that all give us a cold shoulder and they transfer my phone one to another and even I have given the invoice number to shipping department the answer was there is NO records shows on the Computer ( Shipping Lady Said ) and I called more than 6 times in one week and left messages to the sales man there ( Mr Rashid ) he promised to call me back and give an update No answer , and Today July the 17 / 2015 I called once the line after holding for 10 minutes disconnected and I tried and called again and begging for the parts that I have already paid for it and a lady may be from costumer service ask my contact number and she didn't call back ?????? I really Don't know Is any one else experiencing with such a thing ? 1- If the parts was not in the lot what was the part that they showed us ? 2-Now even they don't know the status of the part and the sales person who I talk to buy the part He is ON and OFF his message is ON but No response if leave a message thanks to the one if they can get you your part or help you ........................ 2-

I have followed Standard Auto Wreckers when the UPIC concept appeared on my social feed, I asked them to put a Range Rover into the area and i would attend - They did not disappoint - One came in - plans were made a friend enlisted - were both ex-yard dismantlers and car guys, So I loaded up the tools and left Tweed at 4am - picked up Tony and we got to the yard at 7am - Met David Gould and the crew it felt like a party atmosphere 'Something Special' and it was - Clean Yard - Super stoked friendly staff a great amount of camaraderie helping each other with agreeing who needed what, lending tools and know how and helping load each other up - Crossing the line was funny considering how much 'Loot n Plunder' was on us. We had a brilliant day and I was able to get a pile of parts that really made the difference to my wife's car - Finally after 2 years the windows roll down and with the rest of the haul its going to be a lot safer for winter, Only thing I could have wished for would be a chip truck or a bacon sandwich - you get a huge appetite wrenching lols - Thank you So much we are coming back for the OktoberFest its a brilliant day out and id totally recommend this operation.

Having been a loyal customer for lots of years, I tried to contact them to see what they would give me for my vehicle. I'm aware they were hit with a nasty fire. I assume they lost quite a bit of vehicles due to the fire. This is why I wanted to sell my vehicle to SAW, to help add to their stock. Bought a set of used tires from them. Found on kijiji, my truck uses an odd size, was amazed at the price. Thought I'd found the deal of the year. Tires were brand new. Never mounted. Tires were bought cash and carry, was waiting until closer to winter to install them to have maximum tread through winter. To the point, installed the tires the weekend. all four tires have multiple holes in the sidewalls. Un- reparable and essentially good for nothing. Now ive had to buy another set of tires and am out the money spent here. Id previously been a big supporter of standard having frequented their parts days and buying many a used part from them. Never again.

Seamless and awesome! I called to have my car towed and wrecked responsibly- being green about it was very important. Not only do they recycle all fluids and parts, they plant a tree, AND pay you, AND you get $100 towards future parts. Win win! I needed to get some parts for my 2014 Acura RDX after the dealer quoted me an exorbitant amount. Standard provided me with an OEM part(in great condition!) for far less than the dealer. Even though it's a used part, there are still warranty options to make sure you get your money's worth. Overall, I would recommend anyone who wants to save money fixing their own car to buy parts here. It's great for the environment.

If you're a couple- STAY AWAY! Seemed like an awesome situation, gave them a call, very helpful over the phone, but that was it for customer service. I came by with my boyfriend, he was looking for parts, and had been informed when he had called that the 'upickit' area would have what he was looking for.... They didn't, ( don't get me wrong, they had a huge selection). And on top of everything, I came out to keep him company, sorry I am not getting all dirty and greasy, and the business would not allow me to enter with him unless I paid $50.00!!!! And to top it all off, if he didn't find what he was looking for, they would not reimburse him or myself (if I had paid) they simply offered a store credit.... This feels like highway robbery. Why on earth would I EVER want to come back myself to redeem a credit that is useless to me, I don't even own or drive a vehicle! ( this place is in Scarborough and I live downtown Toronto...) So pretty much, all you couples out there, don't bother with this place, they follow a ridiculous 'policy' and it's completely disgraceful. And personally quite disrespectful to the female, im there for moral support not to buy used, old, nasty car parts. So thank you for making me wait in a car for 3 hours... On my one day off with my boyfriend.

Gail was very professional and reassuring over the phone as I had a lot of stress dealing with the tow sharks that tried to keep my car in their lot after my accident and charge me more every night, and she even called me back the next day to try again! Towing to the scrapyard was free, and the paperwork and payment was all done at the towing lot next to my car so I did not have to follow them to the scrapyard. Very big scrapyard they have around 500 wrecked cars includes almost every brand Very cheep parts and good customer service They also provide free washer fluid aswell You can go inside talk to representative and find your same vehicle remove your part with your own tool, which you need and pay just 10-20% price as compare to new part's price thats all. In winter it is diifficult but if you covered properly yourself yoy can take any thing from any vehicle excapt under body parts thats very hard to go down the vehicle in snow or muddy area.

Amazing place for older car parts as long as you are a little handy and got some time, a YouTube video can save you Some money. There pricing is also very reasonable. The only suggestion I would give is too be more organized . Have Japanese cars in one area and German cars in another, etc. Just to make it easier to find the car that's needed.

I ordered a part for my car on a Thursday and the salesperson promised it would be ready to pick up the next day at 10:30am. As someone who uses my car for work, I made a point of telling him that not having my car equals lost wages. The sales associate reassured me that the part would be ready on Friday. When I came in to pick up the part, the person at the front desk said "the part hasn't arrived. Come back on Monday". When I returned on the Monday, the part was still unavailable with no explanation. Clearly the sales person will say anything to get a sale. Don't trust their time lines and be prepared to be jerked around.

Don't bother trying to call and ask for a price of a part. The guy argued with me saying the vehicle was not in stock, while I'm LOOKING AT IT ON THEIR WEBSITE. I was able to tell him the location in the yard to locate it... he then claims the yard caught fire and everything is reduced to ashes. I was selling or scraping my 2005 black L Series Lincoln Town Car, and emailed Standard Auto Wreckers June 18, 2021. I received a call from Gail the next morning. I was very impressed, as the week before I contacted "Ajax Scrap/Used Cars Scrap Cars Removal," - The company name doesn't make sense, I didn't hear back from them, no surprise. Gail and I discussed the vehicle and agreed on a price and she asked if I'd like to them to pick it up that day. I was unavailable, so I said I'd contact her next week to arrange a time for them to pick it up. Gail was very pleasant, personable, professional and assured me that I was dealing with a reputable Auto Wrecker that is fully licensed. She gave me her contact and extension number, wished me a good weekend and said she looked forward to hearing from me. I called her on Monday, June 21st and we arranged a pick up date and time for Wednesday, June 23rd between 8:30am and 9:30am, provided details of how the paperwork would be completed along with what was required of me for the tow. Gail said she'd call me 30 minutes prior to the pick up time. She called at 7:59am to let me know that the driver would arrive at 8:30m. The tow truck driver Blair arrived approximately 10 minutes early. He was very pleasant, warm, professional and knowledgeable. He prepared the vehicle to be towed. We completed the paperwork, he kept his copies and gave me mine, paid me and we said our goodbyes and he towed the vehicle. My experience with Standard Auto Wreckers was pleasant, Gail and Blair's customer service was very refreshing given that customer service today is an extremely rare quality these days. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Standard Auto Wreckers and would definitely use them again. Very bad service. I was referred here to order a window regulator for my car, the parts guy was very rude to begin with and even still I went in and made a payment I was told my order would be ready for pick up the next morning. The next morning I got no phone call so I called them they told me they'll call back after an hour I get a call back saying "sorry we don't usually do business like this but your order won't be ready until the following day" I gave them the benefit of the doubt and I waited until the next day, once again no phone call I called them and they say they need to call me back this time I waited two hours and I got a call back from the same rude parts man to say "we don't usually do business like this but we lost your part there's nothing I can do for ya so come down and pick up your money". First of all this is my first time ordering so what a first impression not to mention I drove almost an hour out to order this part waited for two days to have them lose it! And to top it off the parts guy had no decency or concern that this puts me in a bad predicament. Bottom line they have horrible customer service skills and I wouldn't recommend ever ordering from this company.

I found an engine online at Standard, my mechanic ordered it, had it delivered to the shop, it was installed and luckily it works just fine for a used engine. I think the engine costs a fortune, but what are you going to do. The replacement engine went into a recent car purchase. Unbelievably, just 67 days into having this car, the engine #blewup. I have been a customer of standard auto wreckers for years and have been a loyal customer and spent tens of thousands of dollars. But after the experience I have just gone through I will never buy from them again nor recommend any of my fellow repair shops to buy from them . Here is the story I purchased a used transmission from them and it was not operating correctly .After a few weeks they sent a customer relations person (Derek Albertini) I took him for a drive in the car he experienced the problem with the transmission but he has zero idea about transmission or cars . I called multiple times to bring it to there attention and after many calls i was told that they did not have a replacement and if I would like to try to fix it . I said sure what amount of financial assistance would be fair seeing as I had to remove it and disassemble and fix it . After many calls I was basically told they would offer nothing it was take it or leave it . I then asked who would be reimbursing me for the time I have spent on a faulty transmission . Once again I was told they would do nothing for me pay full price for a faulty piece . Every time they had Christine call me to refuse any type of assistance or take an responsibility for the faulty product. She is the nicest person at standard auto parts . If I was to run my business in such a way I would be out of business I am the only thing between my customer and a wrecker like standard auto wreckers I must have my customers best interest at heart . I would advise anyone to not purchase from the establishment they really don't care about there customers . Today I called Standard Auto Wreckers (Scarborough location) to pick up my vehicle to scrap it for parts. They were on point with the scheduling. I was very pleased. The tow truck guy they sent to pick up my car was so friendly and very professional. I even received a call letting me know he was on his way and he arrived on time. I really didn't expect to have such a great experience with this type of service because most companies I have dealt with in the past have grumpy employees who don' t care about their job and don't take the time to make the customer feel appreciated. I have a long time love for SAW since 1988 when I need a tail light and door handle for my dad's '78 Monte Carlo. For my current ride, the GM dealer quoted me $400 for the trunk actuator. One trip to Standard, $14 later and 2 bolts and I fixed it myself. Since then fixed both mirrors $30 each (well over $200/each at the dealership), odd and ends in the interior and have stocked up on wiper fluid pump, 2 radios, hub caps and small items like bulbs and fuses for a fraction of retail. Today on $60 all you can carry I scored 2 throttle bodies, an extra latch motor, and LH and RH lens assembly. All for $60. Great place to get OEM parts for a low price. Wear boots if you expect rain and remember these general salvage yard rules. 1) bring your own tools 2) Don't destroy parts you don't need 3) Don't leave parts scattered in the yard as it is dangerous 4) DO NOT BREAK glass just to be destructive 5) Respect the yard. It is not a free for all. UPIC is a privilege and not a right. I have learned how to fix my car by taking parts off at the UPIC yard. Thanks for keeping my 07 Saturn Ions going strong. I wasn't going to post a review but I seen a previous one from earlier this week. I had almost the same experience and thought it was important to make sure a manager was aware. A woman came out from a shed with a miserable look on her face after making me wait awhile at the gate. Very unprofessional. She spoke to me like I was stupid for not knowing that they were closed. When I asked for a telephone number so I could speak to someone else she told me the phones were not hooked up. I cannot believe that a company with such a high reputation would have someone so unfriendly at the gate as a first contact. Good luck on your opening. Do you have any idea when that will be?

It has been nearly a year and there are still no signs of reopening the u pull it yard at Standard Auto Wreckers. That would be fine, but with the lack of communication and feedback through any channels (facebook, their website, etc) I am honestly giving up. They have stated they would reopen "soon" for the better part of a year. I have gone and found a new better yard to visit when I need something, I probably won't be back. Standard Auto - Take note, you are receiving this bad review due to your lack of communication. I would be fine with the fact you haven't reopened yet if you just kept your loyal customers up to date in some way.

If you buy a part, and it does not arrive at the specified time for pick up, Call the returns desk for a refund. (it's one of the options when calling in). If you call your sales agent, he/she will fool you that your part is on the way and waste your time. I had 3 days wasted, everytime I called in I was told someone will call me back and everytime no one did. I even called in to make a complaint and was told the same thing, someone will call me back. I gave up and called the returns / refund department and enquired about the terms for a refund, the agent was helpful and told me to come in with my receipt to claim my refund, he even told me that the shipping manifest was not even created for my ordered part and that it was not coming in next day as the sales agent informed me 20 minutes prior.

Prices here for used parts are a bit expensive. Customer service is great. The staff here are a pleasure to deal with and very knowledgeable. Prices they pay for scrap vehicles are very good as well provided you drive your vehicle there. If you use their free towing service to have your vehicle picked up and towed there they will low ball you and pay you next to nothing. You will get top dollar if you drive your scrap vehicle there. In spite of these minor things I would recommend this place and I would go back.

It was an emotional day to get rid of my 2001 Nissan Pathfinder as it was my daily adventure SUV, sadly the headgasket was gone and was too pricy to fix. We scrapped our vehicle about 3 weeks ago, the whole process was as simple as possible. From the initial phone call (the lady over the phone was very friendly and well-organized) to pick up our old vehicle was all within 5 hours. I was a bit nervous about the process as it was my first time scrapping. Louis came to our house, checked our vehicle, explained all our questions, he was very friendly and knowledgable, totally made us to understand the whole process one by one. Watch out, these guys will promise you the world but they will NOT deliver. I paid over $200 for a part to be here in 2 days, it's now 5 days later and their rinky dink shipping company can't tell me where it is -- and the staff at Standard Auto Wreckers don't care once they've made a "sale". I'm having to reverse the charges on my credit card, and source the part elsewhere. Don't say you weren't warned when they try to rip you off!

These guys get no stars. They sold me a Subaru turbo engine that they advertised as grade A and in good working condition with less that 120,000km on it. From the very beginning after installation the engine has been burning 1 liter of oil for every 1000km that I drive. There are no external oil leaks on the engine as noted by the Subaru dealership. Some guy named Chris at the company has offered to refund me for the engine, but he is negating responsibility for the $1400 in installation labour that his company is responsible for due to selling a defective engine falsely advertised as being grade A and in good working condition. It looks like this company doesn't care if they sell you garbage with fraudulent claims of good condition, nor do they seem to mind you losing large amounts of money due to their false claims. There are many other scrap yards run by people with integrity who can be trusted. Don't put your faith in this shady American company. They have no compunction. Carefully read every review by the others who have detailed their problems with this company. Some person claiming to be the owner responds with what in my opinion are disingenuous apologies such as "I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad experience" or "It's unfortunate.." but I believe them to be empty responses in an attempt to create a facade of responsibility that costs them nothing as they continue to rip-off customers, even after all of these bad reviews. I will be warning the thousands in the Subaru clubs and those that I go to rallies with about my personal experiences with the company, and warn them to NEVER go to any of this company's locations anywhere in the continent. Through my testimonial and the testimonials of other victims of this company we will save other good people from suffering the same fate. I suspect that the positive reviews were posted by management's friends and family. There are more reviews and warnings about this company on sites like Yelp and Yellow Pages. The delay in documents that the owner mentions below is because I had to book leak-down and compression tests at the dealer to prove definitively how bad the engine is. I'll post a scan of the results so that all readers can see the condition that this engine was sold to me in after being rated as tested and Grade A, The manager Chris has accused me of slandering the company during a phone conversation with him. However, slander is not truthful. My comments are personal testimonials for all to see, with evidence to back it up. Maybe if more time was spent ensuring that products that they sold had accurate assessments instead of false quality claims, they wouldn't have to spend time worrying about negative reviews. Causing any customer to lose $1400 on installation of a defective engine sold as Grade A is enough to fuel the anger of any person for a very long period of time. I'll continue to update this review as the situation unfolds.

Had the pleasure of doing business with Gail and Blair twice now. The first car we had recycled through them was a 2013 Nissan sentra who's transmission had died. Gail offered us a very fair deal, even more than some of the lowball offers I got on kijiji, with infinitely less of a hassle. And they even planted a tree on our behalf as part of the deal! We had shopped around and standard auto wreckers offered the best deal by far. Blair, came to pick up vehicle right as scheduled, and was a friendly and professional through and through! We were wrapped up and paid within minutes, with no delays (: The 2nd vehicle we had that we also used their service to recycle, we didn't even have to shop around. Just called them directly and set up the meet up. I truly can't imagine using another service when these guys do everything better.

BE AWARE WHEN YOU PAY FOR YOUR PARTS EXTRACTED FROM THE YARD!!! I recently got two little pieces of parts and was going to pay for them. The "cashier" told me, without doing anything and without checking the prices, that they were $39. It was absolutely a nonsense to me and I asked him how much of each piece. He then did something in his computer and told me that they were $7 instead. I was okay with this amount even though I was totally surprised of the huge difference. When I paid by my credit card, he was then surprised and was thinking that I was paying cash. I later found out that the machine only stated for $5 with the same amount on the receipt. I could not tell how but it was very likely that the "cashier" would pocket the $2 difference if I had to pay $7 cash in the first place. My suggestion is to (1) first know about the 2nd hand price of the parts that you are buying and to (2) use credit card whenever it is possible (at least some sort of protection). Alternatively, you can go to another scrap yard to get your parts. This is not a trustworthy one as far as my experience can tell ...

I phoned in one day to scrap an Acura TL and a very lovely lady by the name of Gail picked up the phone and was professional, friendly, courteous, and helpful throughout the entire phone call. She answered any and all questions/inquiries I had about the process. Explained in clearly and concisely the process and what would happen on the day of the pick up while also giving me a more than reasonable price. She also let me know of a great program where they plant a tree for every car they pick up to scrap. On the day of the pick up, a gentleman by the name of Blair introduced himself and hooked up my my car to his tow truck. Also very professional, friendly, and made me feel very comfortable with my decision. I handed over my ownership, he gave me the receipt and cash for my vehicle. Afterwards he gave me a certificate for the tree that will be planted in exchange for my vehicle. He asked if he could take a picture of myself holding the certificate in front of my vehicle for their Facebook page and after Blair and Gail's amazing service there was no way I could decline! I would highly recommend the Sewells Road location in Toronto and my family have also used their service several years ago to scrap an old Dodge Caravan. A huge thanks again to Gail and Blair for their wonderful service!

Great service! Fast efficient and overall above what was needed called in for engine for my Ridgeline. Got the sales rep Marco. He was able to find me an engine for at minimum 600$ less then competition even took the time to cross reference to find alternatives for my application(something the other company’s wouldn’t do) gave me multiple options. Once I decided on which one I wanted I sent an EMT and within an hour he had it ready on a fork lift for me to pick. I am trying to give it less than 1 Star but you can't! This is the worst auto wreckers in Ontario! They are over priced especially for a used part and they charge you a core fee for everything. It is better if you just go to Cookstown Auto Wreckers you get more for the money. Standard is a complete rip off ran by hillbillies! Could be part sitting outside for 20 years and they will still charge you top dollar and core fees etc.... I know that some people hang out there for living but trust me when I tell you that you can get the same parts at another wreckers for dirt cheap without core charges and hidden fees...
