Went there April 21 to buy a transmission, was told it was good to go. Brought it home and the pan was filled with big chunks of metal, we called and they said bring it back.we drove over an hour to return it and Dave was rood and very unprofessional. He told us some metal filings is okay and that is was rocks in the pan and what can you expect for a transmission 40 years old and to just put it together and drive it. We told him we would rather not keep swapping transmission as it's hard work and his reply was " isn't everything" he told us to go pay and have it serviced with Shane at Trans o matic. We took it to a transmission shop for a second opinion and he told us it's a very unprofessional way of them selling it and it was in bad shape. We took it to Shane and he told that it was not rocks in the pan it was big chunks of metal and that the transmission is in very bad condition. He was nice enough to take the transmission to re build it for us as Dave would not return it and now we are looking at about 1500$ to have it fixed. I don't recommend this Auto wreckers.

Wow...what can I say...they took care of me and made me feel special at the same time. I went in for a used battery, they talked to me ...made me feel good about my situation...were friendly...were positive and took care of me right away. For such a small purchase, they made me feel like a big time customer. They went above and beyond what they need to do and didn't think twice about it. I would highly encourage you to call them or go there 1st...just made my day!! Thx-u to all that were there today and helped me out...just amazing!

If I could give you guys a negative star review I would! I Called at 8:04 am and asked for an alternator. I was told yes you have it in stock and that it would have to be pulled. Call back 4hours later. Told yard guy is out pulling it. Am called at 1 pm and told the car isn't even in your yard. So I waited for 5 hours for absolutely nothing. Thanks Astar

Disappointing services. Had a junk car to get rid of. Called them and they said they would call me back. 3 days later I call again. This time instead of offering free junk car removal they want me to pay to tow. Called a different company and the junk car was picked up within a few hours no charge, no hassle.

as a certified mechanic & business owner I work with a lot of other automotive related businesses , including and not limited to auto wreckers . On dealing with A-Star automotive buying a used engine for a 2008 chevy HHR I was told that the fuel rail had to be changed from the customers old engine onto the new engine, a fairly simple procedure, after completion and after installing the engine into the engine bay it was discovered the sensor plugs over the entire engine were wrong , I don't mind changing parts to make an engine fit, but Id like to know prior to install so it can be done without hours of head ache trying to fit into spots not made for a human. I called A-Star and talked to a Sr parts seller, after a short conversation explaining the problem with the engine and difficulty's, differences and added cost A-Star had the couth to tell me it was the computers fault and f-me for any refunds or allowance, I should have checked Prior to install. Yes your correct A-Star, I should have known ..... not to trust a "professional" suppliers word like yours.... I made a mistake dealing with this company, Deal with prince George Auto Wrecking they do not screw over their Customers like this pack of dogs

The one counterman was pretty helpful, but having the other guy giving unnecessary attitude, over something small, in a conversation he wasn't part of, isn't called for. Used to find this place the best auto wrecker to deal with in town, won't be going back, I'll buy parts at full price before I even consider it.

I have had a couple very good experiences here, until recently. Last time I called ahead about parts that I wanted to come see, I showed up within an hour and the front desk guy was nothing but rude. First told he told me the item wasn't there and that I 'must' have called another place (I showed him the phone number on my phone), he suddenly found the part in the system that came to see and then told me to come back the next day as they were closing in 20 minutes. I explained I was told to come on up and that I was only checking the part to see if I wanted it, then I would come back for it another day. Next time I came back for the part I went in to pay, he started to take my number and then took a phone call (which is fine but he didn't excuse himself...meh, not too big of a deal), problem is he then helped out 3 other people before continuing with me...as I stood there wanting to pay and get out, instead of having my kids in a shop during Covid. I wasn't impressed at all with how I was treated. When he realized I knew a regular customer of theirs...his tune completely changed. Unprofessional. I will however go back, as maybe, just maybe he was having a rough couple days. Plus it's not the companies fault he was a jerk.

BEWARE!!!!! This company deserves 0 stars. Bought a transmission from them and assured me everything was working proper. Installed transmission into vehicle and transmission was stuck in gear. Pulled transmission back out of vehicle sent it back to them, waited 2 weeks for their mechanic to fix it and send it back. Now without a vehicle for almost 2 months and a ton of waisted money. Phoned and company will not give any refund to help with costs. They do not stand behind their parts and lied to me about the condition of the parts they sold me. Horrible customer service and advise people to stay away from this business.
