REVIEWS OF Habitat For Humanity Victoria ReStore - Uptown IN Oak Bay

Paul Considine

I love habitat for humanity as it's a great place to find bits and bobs for around the house. I would give it a five stars, but I find the prices a little on the high side compared to what it was at the store 2 years ago. Like many of the second hand or thrift stores, they all come in at a low starting price point to get people hooked, then raise the prices to what the market will bare. There are many places these days to find used items, so I've been weaning off going there as frequently as I used to. In the end, if I don't find anything while there, I always come out feeling that it wasn't a waste of time because of the great staff.

Vaughn Smith

Very thankful for their service.

Not a fan of leaving a negative review for this place, but at this time, do not trust their webstore. Placed an order for items on the webstore, no confirmation email or receipt, money was taken, but the site said I could come pick up the following day. When I went to the store, nobody had any idea of what was going on. It took two days for them to figure out that the items I purchased on the webstore weren't even available. I've purchased many tools there, though, and had good experiences, so trust what is in the store, not what is online, until they fix it.

Giulio Mari

New used items almost daily. Average quality items donated-rarely anything upscale, prices can really vary-some items underpriced and some items priced too high ... No bartering. Generally well organised. Flooring, kitchen appliances, some furnishings like desks, sofas, chairs, tables, mirrors, framed prints, lamps and shades, hardware, paint and supplies, cabinets... Outdoor items. Merchandise really varies. Staff generally friendly and helpful. Good cause!

I have a small residential Contracting business for General repairs and upgrades. I go here at least once a week to check on availability of tools and for supplies for my clients. This is a not-for-profit re-sale outlet that accepts donations to be sold for Habitat for Humanity's building program. It's amazing the range of goods sold here: from books on every subject to CDs, used furniture of all times, building supplies such as tiles, numerals in metal & plastic, area rugs, even boxes of laminate flooring. It's important to go once or twice a week if you're seriously looking for great buys. I recently purchased a heavy duty 2.5" air-powered nailer which retails for more than $200; my cost for a nearly new one was $65!

Best prices for a used good store!

sometimes I think the price for a used item is on the high side, and they only took one thing from us when we were moving last year. that said, if they have what you need, it's great to not have to buy new.

Handy place to meet a need. I find the prices a little on the high side but it's going toward a good cause. The staff are helpful

Christopher Kennedy

Good selection of reclaimed household fixtures for remodelling. Selection of new items such as light switches. Used furniture looked like remnants of the 70's. Or 80's.

I have made several purchases here. Mostly, the prices were not what I would call a real deal. However, if you want to donate to a worthy cause, Restore is a good start. For example, if you need just a few square feet of brand new tile, or even brand new lighting, you might find it here, comparatively inexpensive. Contractors often dispose of surplus stuff at Restore. I once purchased a used tool which broke the first time I used it. Next time I was in the store, I was abruptly told that there is a strict 'no returns policy'. I have donated quite a bit of stuff as well. I think of my donations as a small way to help some deserving family get a break into becoming home owners. All in all, I recommend Restore.

Compared to the Langford location, this one has a very poor selection of items to look at and many overpriced for the condition they are in. Suggest making the trip out there

Jeffery Will

There is a lot of usable things, there is also a lot of junk, it's nice to stores donating some of the overstock items

Annette Michalik

Love love love this place is so relaxing.

Michael Moore

It's basically a builder's thrift shop that benefits the downtrodden. New/used stock changes every day

If you do not have a high income but would still like your home to look nice I recommend this place. I went in by chance one day looking for a bike to ride to work and I actually found one at a easily affordable price. The furniture looks well kept and the shelves are stocked in an orderly fashion, unlike stores run in a similar manor.

West Coast Ghost Crew

I find their prices a bit high for a place where everything's donated

Jeffrey Kosar

Used stuff

Riddle Pond

Great idea, but lacking knowledge about products and pricing at this location. (Some used items are mark more expensive than new at home depot.)

Raven Stierle

Lot of odds and ends, found some cool stuff there. Regularly have sales on furniture. Got a pretty nice dresser for 50% off, def a score.

Smokus Cat

They do not keep their word. You don't want to depend on these people for anything.
