Sometimes the attendants aren’t the most friendly but others days, they’re super friendly and helpful.

Lets be honest. Not many options when needing to dispose of drywall,. So the service provided is valuable. My criticism is with the customer engagement. I was sent her from the dump when I tried to dispose of some drywall. Showed up at the gate and was asked "if the drywall had any dates", I had no idea so I said "I don't know". I'm not in construction, demolition or other trades. Lady at window asked again, I responded the same "I don't know". She then yells, if you turn your truck off then you can hear me. I turned the truck off and answered the same to the same question. I clarified, I have no idea what the dates are but suggested I look could look if that was helpful. Was told "You should know". This is where things went sideways. Got a sheet of paper shoved in my hand and directed on how to proceed. Fellow at the end was informed of my arrival via radio and I received similar customer experience. Will this review help with your dumping of drywall? I dunno, but maybe you should go on Tinder and get your drywall some dates just to be prepared. In the end, I dumped the drywall, paid my money and moved along.

No line up, efficient processing and an easy off load

Afna 1974

Check your bill out on the scale when you get out of facility , they charged me $50 extra for cleanup service without telling me, I haven’t seen any garbage in my load

Good experience this time, last time the attendant wasn't too friendly. It was little crowded, but who is in rush when going to throw away drywall. It's great that this facility exists.

Jean-Christophe Rodrigue

The line up is incredibly long. It's pretty dissuading to go there for a few sheet leftovers only. Frustrating.

Who knows how old some of this drywall is. There is major asbestos flying around in large clouds from the loader and excavator moving this material. Very little is done to mitigate the clear and present safety hazard. Staff and public alike seem to be unaware of the dangers from inhaling asbestos not to mention neighbors in the area. Large clouds of gypsum can be seen on a daily bases at this facility. How can this be legal? The place should be shut down. The owners and management clearly have no regard for public safety.

Twice have brought drywall here for recycling from my renovations. IMPORTANT: Do **not** by those expensive gypsum bags at hardware stores. Those are for **asbestos** drywall only and New West Gypsum won’t even allow you into their yard, and you’ll have to go take your drywall out of those bags (and thus put it into other bags if the drywall pieces are very small & crumbly and can’t really be dumped by hand). This happened to me and it sucked. Straightforward process: - Drive onto scale - Present piece(s) of date-stamped drywall OR lab test results proving no asbestos - Fill out a form (don’t forget the back of it ????) - When waved in by staff, drive into the yard and park where directed - Dump your drywall (if in bags or a container, dump out the drywall and take the bags/containers with you) - Drive onto the exit scale and pay by weight Cost me $28 for 260kgs of drywall in my vehicle

Come early. Drywall with tiles is ok too. $10 min charge. Paid about $30 for half a dodge caravan load. Check for date on back of drywall prior to going, this way you will pay $120/ton otherwise its $170/ton

Very happy. Great staff and simple entry, drop off, and exit. This place does not take asbestos related drywall. They do take: Dated drywall (from manufacturer on back of board) Non dated drywall WITH test results. Dated is cheaper to dump than non dated. If you think asbestos, take your drywall to Coquitlam transfer Station or Vancouver landfill. 10 bags 5 times a year. Must be in two bags of 6 mil labeled drywall bags Individually taped.

A good place to recycle drywall, technically friendly staff, I hope more branches will be set up in Greater Vancouver to make it easier to reach.

Great service fast and cheap only $19.00 for 5 Bags full from a 10x10 ft partition wall, only mistake we made was taking it in drywall bags thats a No No so don't make the same mistake we had to take it away and rebag it into ordinary heavy duty black bags

I called beforehand and made sure I knew the rules about what can and can't be dropped off. The lady was really helpful and friendly. I set off early Saturday morning ( they open at 8am, 7am on weekdays) and rolled in straight away. The lady at the weight scale was also friendly and helpful. The guy checking the load was great too. Great experience!

I agree with many of the other posts here. The ladies in the booth are extremely slow moving and quite rude. If you are looking for fast friendly service keep looking because you won't find it here.

I didn't have a lot of gypsum to dispose of, but from the girl in the weigh booth to the gentleman in the yard, they were so good, helpful, as an older person it was so nice to be treated so kindly. Thank you to both of your staff.

This is one of the only places you can dump drywall but its a good location expect for the few of the girls working in the booth. There's one that is so rude and racist to brown community it unacceptable. If the owner wants one of there biggest problems fixed contact me. She has been racist to every single one of my employees I've sent there. Some of N.Y. employees have felt the need to make videos for proof that she treats them like bigger garabage than what they came to dump. Other than the big girl in the booth very good place to dump. Please have rascisim under control, our province is in a much better state for this still to be continuing.

1st time there and the lady in the yard was really helpful thanks for a great experience!

Aaron

I went at 330 pm on a Wednesday, wait was about 10 minutes, not bad. The guy working the yard was busy, but helpful and straight to the point. Lady at the booth was very unfriendly, after paying and getting my receipt I said "Thank you!" She replied with a dry 'yeah, ok'. Cost me $16 to dump 4 heavy garbage bags of tile and drywall, fair price. Make sure your drywall has a date stamp on it, they will want to see it!!

I just spent 2 hours in line ups. It just cost me an extra $100 to dump a load of board. This facility is very poorly organized. With the outrageous cost of board, the outrageous cost to recycle and the downtime sitting in lineups!! Very frustrating

Demetri Thomopoulos

New West gypsum collects your waste drywall for a nominal fee. Thanks

A lot of obvious fake reviews... This place is probably one of the worst. They basically only allow 1 or 2 people to unload their vehicles at any given time in their huge outdoor yard that can easily accommodate way more people. If it takes 15 minutes to unload 1 truck plus 5 - 10 min to process that same truck. That is 25min per person. You do the math. The equally bad part is the employees. These people have zero concern for you or your time. These guys are so slow it is insane. It is like they take pleasure it in. Everyday the lineups are so bad that they spill onto the intersecting road causing a traffic mess. And this has been like this for many years but now they use the excuse of social distancing to hide there lack of efficiency. What is pretty funny if you think about all the garbage in the air you are breathing everytime you visit this place. Far worse then c19 bs. Even their drivers are inconsiderate when you unloading your truck and they just drive their huge machines beside you kicking up so much nasty drywall dust right right in your face it is so annoying. It is like a sandstorm when they roll out those big Caterpillar machines. Dont get me started on all the old women workers in those scale booths. Horrible attitudes and soooooo rude. You can tell they hate their jobs. It shows... no concept of customer service. This place is run very poorly and only in business because there is no competition. If you have to go there be prepared for a super long lineups and rude employees.
