I just witness the worst business practice I have ever seen. We where waiting in line to turn in our metal and the guy came out to close the gate he wasn't going to let us move forward past the gate because our truck stalled and we had to start it. Then as we moved our truck ???? n he closed the gate on someone else that was trying to get in and started fake laughing lol ad at the guy because he wasn't letting them in. It is one thing to close your gate but to laugh in there face because you are closing your gate is so disrespectful that guy should not have his job

If I could leave no stars..I would. We arrived on a Tues afternoon around 3. A gentleman greeted us as we were waiting in line out on the road. He stated that there was a bit of a wait. He said that they had a few trucks including a semi that they needed to finish up with and as soon as they were cleared out that he would get us in. That employee was very respectful..so we decided to shut our truck off and wait. As we sat, more trucks came in both directions. We sat about 40 minutes then it was our turn to go. We pulled in and was "greeted"..if that's what you want to call it.. by a different employee. The employee didn't greet us at all but instead asked us if we were next then insisted without our response that the box truck behind us was actually ahead of us and told us to back out to let them go first. The box truck was sitting in the road going the opposite direction than we were facing and that truck arrived 15 to 20 minutes after we shut our engine off. We proceeded to tell him that we were in fact first in line and he proceeded to give an attitude. We then decided to leave and go somewhere else and to never return to Nelson's again. As we were leaving, we called to make a complaint and the woman who answered seemed to care less about answering their phones let alone about our experience there today. We definitely will not be using their services in the future and will make sure to inform others about their poor customer service!

The staff immediately recognized that we were out of our element and went out of their way to make us comfortable. Their instructions were very clear and everyone was friendly. And we made 12 bucks for our dumb fridge which we hated so that was good, too.

Came to this scrap yard on saturday july 13th 2019 an sat in a line for over an hour. Had A.C coils, condensors an furnaces. But people park their cars, an go walking up in front of us to be seen first. Dont know if their paying cash to get better treatment. In my opinion this is not a place I would ever go to if you were in a hurry. Plan on spending your whole day here an being turned away once you get to the building. Completely awful

When I started going with my boyfriend to turn in scrap metal he took me here and taught me something but since then I have been doing it alone and every employee at Neilsons has taken the time to teach me about all the different metals and what I need to do to make the most money out of the things I bring in. They have made me fill like family and they treat everyone this way. They also pay the most and always keep up on the prices of things

Absolute joke. I go there a at 4:35pm because they say they close at 5 and get told I have to come back tomorrow. I arrive tomorrow and wait in a line to drop the metal off for 45 minutes to be told I'm in the wrong line. To top it off the won't take my metal. Absolute joke. Save yourself time and go elsewhere.

These people are crooks. They take weight off of the totals. Not just a little bit either, I had 332lbs of on type of alluminum and they wrote it up as 145lbs and gave me 4 cents a pound when it should have been 75 cents. Don't go there unless you want to get screwed.

Scraping as I call it has often be looked at by not all but most of the public as nothing more than a means for the homeless community to fund its citizens. Honestly I think it’s recycling at its best . However ! A few bad eggs are out there but really there are bad eggs in every facet in society and the work force. Nelson’s is a great yard for there fast paced and friendly employees and Ed the owner cares about how the customer/sellers are treated . They also turn away the bad eggs even if it means they are losing money .

Went in there with two pieces of 316 stainless steel. And it also had 314 marks on it. The guy who works there tells me all 314 markings means its lowest grade. So they give me 304 prices and come to find out. My stuff was 316. Nevee paid me back the difference

Called this place for a pricing on copper. The person on the line told me a great competitive price so I went all the way across the valley to recycle there but when they brought up my ticket, it was $.32/lb less than what they had quoted me. Cheepest place in the valley! Never going there again!

Yes I like these guys until the past couple situations I just showed up within five minutes of closing time and I came from a long way and I like this place and they let the guy in front of your head and your website tells me you’re still open and you’re telling me you’re closed is ridiculous because I made a journey just to come out here and because of this experience I’m not coming back

Competitive prices go ahead and call around you'll see. Always been treated honestly and fairly. I do miss the free hotdogs and chips on Saturday covid-19 ruined that.
