I have been going here for years and have always exchanged my two bags for two more with no problem. Today how ever when I asked for two bags for the two that I turned in which were full of bottles, the person at the till did not want to give me any and said I should have told him before he started cashing the bottles in that I wanted bags for the ones I had turned in with bottles. He did not want to give me any bags. As he was the only cashier and the line up was out the door, I refused to move until I got my bags in exchange. He finally gave me two bags. I would like to know what on earth is wrong with management that you hire people who don't follow the rules that you have setup. I don't hold him responsible. The buck stops with management

This is the best recycling plant I have been to since the old bottle return centre that was in Harewood by the Co-op gas bar. The Old Victoria Depot has nice staff and they are helpful and politely tell you how they like things brought in if you don't know how. I like being treated that way. They have great hours here too. Lots of room to park and a big room to sort your returns and a big drop off for other recyceables. Draws for prizes too once in awhile.

Due to covid, they now have soap and sanitizer!! Idk if its industry standard but they now charge for the bags they are going to stick the bottles in anyways

Way better location than previous.. plus dint have to pay for the bags like ..unlike other depots... dont have to remove plastic covers or lids. Fast and friendly employees. ...much bigger and better building..... . I live in Ladysmith and i would rather travel to nanaimo bottle depot. ..... bottle dept here in Ladysmith ....i know they rip ppl off .... and i hear others say same thing. ...you have to pay fir the bags. . Bottles caps have to be removed b4... employees aren't too friendly

I've had really good service in the past. This isn't targeted towards all employees, but there is this one MISERABLE older man. He needs to be let go. I can't believe the amount of disrespect he was giving out towards customers. I truly do not want to go back because of this complete a$$hole.

I have been to the Victoria rd location several times & find the staff very friendly except for the elder man that cleans the carts. Each & every time I have had dealings with him , he has been very sharp, unfriendly, & just rude. I've noticed him doing the same with other customers. If he feels the need to be like this he shouldn't be working there.There is only one person that fits this description there.

-1 star only because of the hours! its expensive, I know - but what about extended hours on saturday or one day of every week, or even just shifting the business hours one day of the week (like 11-7:30 instead of 9-5:30) just to make it easier on us working folk! Also you should look into a pick-up service xD qoute them a "cash-in-hand" price plus a small pickup charge, maybe 50-75 cents on the dollar approximately - and you guys could pocket the difference. Might be slow to start out but I bet after a few years it would be a well known, well used service

An embarrassment to humanity. Sorted bottles beside my car. While pulling the cart inside some tipped. I pulled over behind the 'flats' box to straighten them before going to cash. The persistently miserable old man hysterically screamed at me that I was blocking the way and that I needed to sort on tables. The facility was deserted and the miserable cow didn't bother to remain to see how his presumptions were incorrect. I called the facility but no one bothered returned my call. I have seen this behavior time and again. I see older reviews identifying the same issue, yet nothing changes. Some staff feel they can dehumanizing the homeless. They have now expanded this hostile attitude to everyone. Most of the younger staff are polite and resist falling into this toxicity. It's a joke that they allow the rude ones to continue acting in such an abysmal way.

Terrible customer service, showed up 40 minutes before they closed, got nothing but attitude, were told we were going to have to take some back because "that's too much to do before closing" (not in a kind way), and then when we were leaving were told "that section was closed you know." I'm sorry, there was no sign, no way for us to know that it was closed. Disappointing, I was excited to not have to drive to ladysmith but would much rather go the extra 20 minutes than be treated like the scum at the bottom of the bottle bag. Will not be coming back, and will make sure all who I know will make the same choice.
