I have had a horrible experience with End of the Roll. They charged for services thy did not complete, and for materials they did not use. When asked to explain the inconsistencies in the bill they refused to explain and instead threatened to sue. Although the quality of the workmanship was good - that cannot be attributed to them, but rather the luck of the draw; he was simply a sub-contractor, and one they had never used before at that. That is why I marked it as Poor - as an overall review of good does not reflect my experience with them at all.

Installers damaged our brand new house on numerous occasions. Both installer and owner of the company denied any damages, even though we have photo evidence. Owner refused to come out to the house to see his installers poor workmanship. Refused to rectify or apologize for what we had to endure with this company. We are still waiting for EOTR to make this right and living with a half torn up floor. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY! BUYER BEWARE.

I wish there was an option for no stars because that is the review they should receive. We had engineered hardwood flooring installed in our room, through an insurance claim. Within a day or two of it being installed, the contractors left a bit of a mess (no big deal) so I was wiping the floor, I noticed that the paper towel was black. I said “that’s weird”, grabbed another paper towel, wipe the floor again, same thing. The stain was coming off of the flooring. I call end of the roll, they had someone come out about 4-5 different times to take a look, they were all baffled and said I’ve never seen that before. They had the manufacturer come out and take a look, checked my thermostat, thermostat was set to the correct humidity level, they said they would give us 500$ to fix our floor. (That was never told directly to us, nor given any report or anything from the manufacturer) We rejected the offer as there is no way you can replace an entire upstairs floor with 500$. Upon speaking to Peter junior, he reassured me the floor would be fixed, no problem, just come in and select a floor that matches yours. We go into the store, we pick out a flooring (we are now almost two years after we initially noticed an issue). Peter Jr. says we will call you to schedule an install date as soon as the flooring is in. We wait, wait, wait. It’s been 2-3 months, so I check in. Yep we’re just back logged with jobs, I’ll call you and schedule a time once everything is settled. Ok, I wait wait wait, I keep calling and calling, leaving messages for Peter jr. Never get a call back, then one day someone informs me that he has had a heart attack, so respectfully I gave them 3-4 months to get everything figured out with that. Then I get a call from Peter Sr. He comes and looks at my floor, says yep no problem, looks like a manufactures defect, we will fix it for you, I said ok perfect let me know when you can come and install it. I then get a call saying sorry, can’t do the floor you picked, it’s too expensive with Covid the cost has risen drastically. He offers for me to go in and choose a vinyl flooring (which is the same cost as what my flooring cost THREE YEARS AGO) So I decline, and say that’s unacceptable, I want the floor that I have in my house, just a version that is not defective. He says well we’re not given you anymore that what your floor cost in 2018, it’s three years later, the cost of wood NEVER goes down. He again offers for me to pick out vinyl and insists it’s better than engineered hardwood anyways. I decline, I go to surface design and decor, I get them to come in, take a piece of my floor, they go back to their shop and send me a quote for like quality flooring. The cost is almost double what end of the roll offered (just referring to the cost of the floor, not labour) I send the quote in, proving the floor costs more now still refuse. So now, service master (lovely people) are trying to come to a agreement on fixing the floor, with our insurance company. I will NEVER shop, or recommend end of the roll to anyone, EVER. Extremely poor customer service. when a floor if defective, you fix it, that’s why there are warranties on products. Absolutely appalled at how Peter Sr. Handles his business. Oh and think this is far fetched? Contact me, I can show you ALL the emails.

We recently purchased a rug from End of the roll. Very unhappy with the installation process. We live on the second floor of a building and they sent 1 person. My husband ended up assisting in carrying the underlay, very heavy rug, and tool box up with the installer as it was impossible to do alone. I ended up having to sweep the room after the rug was removed as I didnt want to use my vaccum due to nails etc. We were told the installer is provided with a vacuum.. where was it and why wasnt it part of the installation? My husband told the issues when went to pay the hefty bill and we received no customer service call or received no deduction for assisting . Rug looks great but would not recommend .

When I called to inquire on the status all I got was a promise to call me back with a delivery date. 3 times I called, 3 times they did not return my call with the delivery date. They never know what part I'm waiting for. Very disorganized. It's obvious customer service is not important.

My son and daughter-in-law used this store on my recommendation and I am so sorry I did that. They have taken almost a week to seminfinish hardwood (laminate). Never replaced closet doors, left gaps in stairs and a piece of wood can be lifted up by the fireplace. They paid for removal of carpet and furniture. The sales rep has said, but not come to look at the poor workmanship. Been several days waiting. Why have a business if you don't want to do the work. There certainly wasn't any problem taking the money or the $100. tip the workers were given. Shame on your company.

Very poor customer service No one here seems to know what they are doing. Waited several hours on a date they were supposed to come in and install the flooring,they never showed up. After multiple calls and several hours they were finally able to tell me that they would be coming the following day instead. Lots of wasted time with this company. Follow through was terrible. They might have a good selection of flooring but as a home owner ,I will be looking for a more professional service.

To whom it may concern, I selected End of the Roll to build and finish my stairs at my Sudbury home (both going upstairs and downstairs). Overall, I'm very happy with the work and professionalism that End of the Roll provided. First of all, Peter from End of the Roll visited our home and provided us with recommendations and options for the stairs / railings. To be honest, my wife and I had no idea on how to match the colour of the stairs / finishing. We found Peter highly experienced and helpful in making these decision, making the whole process very easy to complete. Peter is a very straight forward individual, took all the necessary measurements and provided a quote within a few days for the custom work. George was the carpenter from End of the Roll that worked on building the stairs. He was very polite and provided proactive suggestions when encountering something that may cause an issue down the road (like putting on the molding prior to our fireplace being completed - which we would have to re-work down the road). He spent about a week at our place building the stairs and ensure they wouldn't "squeak" anymore so our baby could sleep. The work was beautiful, perfect in our opinion. George is a true craftsman for this specialized work. Invoice was same as quote. Overall, we are very happy with End of the Roll Sudbury and would highly recommend them to you.

I've had good experiences with End of the Roll in the past. However, it's my impression that the business puts far more emphasis on up-selling and sales than actual customer service. I've purchased a large amount of flooring from End of the Roll before, and while it is good quality, the more time that passes the more i realize that I was up-sold to a product that I actually didn't need. I'll admit, it works. But knowing what i know now, I definitely would have saved myself a few thousand dollars and gone for a cheaper product. That being said, I had no issues with End of the Roll until today... When I tried to return a just a small amount of material I had left over from my last home renovation; I was hence lied to, and the sales person refused to accept a return on STOCK items. In retrospect my tile guy warned me about this and told me that they may try to refuse to give you a refund, but he knew for a fact that they were actually stock (having dealt with the company repeatedly in his career). They even refused to accept two bags of un-opened grout stating that it somehow was not stock either? It's pretty apparent they are much more concerned with closing that sale, than ensuring you are happy and come back for repeated business. To this day I've always tried to support local businesses. At this point I would recommend 100% that you go to a big box store over End of the Roll (they will take absolutely anything back), and repeatedly won't up-sell you.
