It's a place where they take advantage of people. They try to weigh metals in as many different categories as possible so they can low-ball to the lowest lbs. So, if they separate into 5 categories and the weights are 4.7, 22.8, 9.6, 17.9, and 11.4lbs the customer looses 0.7+0.8+.04+0.6+0.9= 3.4lbs of your hard earned work. Losses could be $5 - $25 through that technique alone. Next they will tell you that your high quality #1 bright copper is #2 copper the difference is $2.90/lbs for #1bright & $2.50/lbs for #2. For example, if they under grade 25 lbs, they just cheated you out of another $10. Plus, they'll tell you that various items aren't real copper or brass when they are and they'll throw em to the side and tell you that they'll recycle them for you. Also there buying prices are lower than most because they know there is only one other Scrap Metal Recycling business for a long ways away. It would be safe to say they practice highway robbery. If they wanted to show some integrity id like to CHALLENGE: GAS CITY METALS & RECYCLING TO POST THEIR DAILY BUYING PRICES ONLINE ON THERE WEBSITE. There Techniques to under cut customers are many and I'd suggest to anyone to beware of these rip off artists. Finally Sandy is like a used car salesperson and will say anything to take advantage of a customer.

I was checking Gas City Metals hours during family week and I noticed the review posted by Luis Mano. Luis is a former good friend of mine and I know that he suffers from some mental health issues so I wasn’t surprised to see he had a bad experience at Gas City Metals – he has trouble with many situations in his life. Some of his comments don’t make any sense – no scrap yard buys on the partial lb. I have dealt with Sandy for over 2 years and have never had a problem – I don’t think his problems were caused by Gas City Metals. Anyone that reads the reviews should definitely give Sandy a call first to figure out what she can do to help you with your scrap metal. I’ve gone to other scrap yards and I always go back to Gas City Metals.
