I have lost time and patience because of these guys I have tried to buy some parts from them but they would always have blurry prices and when I ask them to quote on some parts they would say I can't do that right now you have to come down and when I went down they still couldn't do the price because his brother wasn't there and that happened three times in a row over the phone they're calling me to come down then when I get down we don't do anything. Guys don't waste your time I sure did waste mine.

Talking to James and his brother is easier. However, now that the owners took over this place is a disaster. They have very poor communication skills and listening skills. Very poor interpersonal skills too. They are very difficult to deal with both over the phone and at the shop. They always talk and argue with customer trying to make themselves look/sound like they are superior. They don't trust their staff, they don't trust anyone, they don't trust themselves. I guess they are not really trustworthy. I went to buy something and I asked if i can have both the items for a price he mentioned and the owner said "sure". When i handed the payment, he said you can't take two, just one. Whatttt??? So I got my payment back and just left...and never will return to this shop again. Anyway, their price now here is way more expensive than online/amazon. For a plastic junk i thought i could re-purpose (that they will throw away), as soon as you touch it and they see that you are interested, they price it high (while the item was actually on the way to the trash bin). Gateway, you are not the only one in British Columbia. So think again the way you deal with your customers. You need a great lesson and training on interpersonal skills or people-skills, coz you really suck at it BIG TIME!

The only place to go to for your used auto parts. They have more cars there than their old location (over 300!). James and Mike were super friendly and helpful. I was looking for a locknut for a Honda Odyssey fuel pump and they had several. Bring cash if you have only small things to purchase there like I did, which was not a problem for me at all. They have a great selection of used parts to choose from. They have tools for customers to use if they want to pick a part themselves. Reasonable prices and good service is why you see many 5 star reviews here.

The website says it opens at 11:45 on Saturday. We sat outside and waited and he rolled in slowly a half hour late. Such an unprofessional way to run a business. We called yesterday for a part and it wasn’t even ready when we got here. We bought the part installed it before we left and it didn’t work. We tried to get our money back and he said we ripped him off and started swearing at us. We threatened to call the police and showed him that it didn’t work. We did end up getting our money back and he apologized and offered to help figure out the problem. Turned out that it was a communication issue. However, to automatically assume that we were trying to rip him off was wrong and I hope that he learns something from this in the future. Instead of yelling and swearing he could have simply just offered to test it, as it was only a 2 minute install.

Super friendly people. I was looking for a seat belt buckle out of a Toyota Tacoma that absolutely nobody else had. They sadly didn't have it out of a Tacoma but we managed to find one out of a Camry that worked well. Gave me a discount since it wasn't the exactly right part. I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone who needs anything.

Cannot emphasize enough how much Gateway saved me. I could not find the part I was after anywhere and was one phone call away from ordering one from Utah at a ridiculous price! Mike, the owner, was knowledgeable, friendly, and accomodating. He shipped the part to Edmonton for me and I had it in two days. Gateway definitely sets the industry standard for service.

I have been to A Gateway several times for parts for my rare corolla all-trac wagon. Very frequently I would find the parts at this modest lot. They are pleasant people to work with and not unreasonably priced. Furthermore, if I phoned them and they didn't have the part I needed, they took the time to search other wreckers for it. My calls were never an annoyance. Recommended, especially to someone unfamiliar with auto wreckers.

Price gougerd. Tried to sell me a driver's side window for over 150$ when pick a part charges 25$ for Windows absolutely ridiculous. Tried to tell me "it's coming out of a perfectly good door that's why the price is so high" news flash if a door isn't in perfectly good at an auto wrecker chances are the windows smashed.

They try to rip you off! Look up the price of what you're looking for before you go there. They're so dishonest they literally told me something was in great condition when it had a hole in it. I really like re-using parts and minimizing waste... which in turn makes me really appreciate wrecker... I had to take a few minutes to compose myself to write this...but here we go. A few months ago, I had my quarter panel glass smashed as someone broke into my Escape. After visiting a glass shop, I was given Gateway's number as they said they had the part in stock, I drove to Langley to pick it up, paid $250, and after coming back to the glass shop, was told it was the wrong part, with aftermarket tints. I called back a few days later, was told the owner was gone, left my info but no on called me back. I called over a dozen times in the next few weeks, only to have my call not answered or was told the owner was not in. I decided to try and sell it myself and started looking for the right part, which I found on Ebay for $150, delivered. The initial break-in and the following loss was rough, since I did not have comprehensive insurance, all came out of pocket which meant some summer activities with the kids had to be cancelled. Pleading to Mike, the owner did nothing; he did not care that it was the wrong part, he did not take any responsibility for his mistake except to offer me a credit which I would never use, and I'm sure he knows this well. Mike, you know you made a mistake, take the responsible route and make it right - from one single dad to another.

Even asking my age & gender while walking to look for the car is just unacceptable very unprofessional!!! pricing me triple of the brand new price is just a clear RIP OFF! Well it's a wrecking yard, that's all I can say. The guys inside try to make you believe what you need is super expensive and that they are giving you a deal. Well sorry boys when you know stuff about cars you cant lie to someone like that. Trying to tell me my item is perfect and will work was funny and the price they tried to charge was even funnier. It's TRUE when they say people in the auto industry will try to rip you off. These guys try but dont bother, buy from the dealer is probably better cause you know you will get what you need and it will work.

Used to go here quite a bit in the past, however since ownership changed it is my last resort. Owners do not seem to care, and their prices are completely absurd. On multiple occasions they’ve tried charging me more on a used part than what I would spend if I went to Napa They honestly do have a good selection on old off-road Toyota’s and Japanese cars in general, however you’d be paying more for their parts than you would if you bought new.

Went here to see if I could get door actuators, quoted me triple the price of new actuators, and acted really shady, ended up getting a rear mat for my Crv wanted $90 for it and when I said no went down to $50 then I said no again and proceeded to leave he chased me out and said $30 lol . They also lied about the price and made comments after I had to pay a substantial amount of money. I moved to Vancouver from Toronto and faced a frustrating time transferring my car. Used a coupon from Big Tires to get the car certified, but they not only failed the car but also created a nightmare by breaking the driver’s side door handle and handed me an estimate of $2200.00. Being a 20 year old car and not mechanically inclined, and new to BC, this became an ordeal. I got a few parts from different car wreckers which turned out faulty, and then truly God’s Grace amazingly found Gateway. I was not only shocked, but blown away that such people still exist. Both Mike and James are very personable, HONEST, forthright and knowledgeable. Both the brothers have gone above and beyond their duty to help me. Their prices are competitive and guarantee tested working parts. Every time I called no matter how busy they always are, they were extremely polite and helpful. They helped me however they could without charging me a penny. They even recommended honest reasonably priced garages to go to. In the end it cost me approximately $700.00 instead of the $2200.00 estimate. I can ramble on but suffice it to say in 25 years of owning a car this is the ONLY time I have encountered service of this caliber. Today I was able to get the car transferred only because of Gateway. THANKS Mike and James, keep up the good work!! Blessings!!!! KUDOS TO GATEWAY FOR UPHOLDING A LOST TRADITION OF PROFESSIONALISM AND INTEGRITY

I came looking for a part for my vehicle and this was my first time attending an auto wrecker. I called other places before attending here and they were unfriendly to speak with. But when I called here I was greeted by Mike who was polite and said they have vehicles that match mine. When I arrived, he helped me locate the vehicles I needed to look at and gave me great advice on how to fix my issue. All of his staff were helpful and friendly. This will be my go to place when my aging vehicle needs more parts. I recommend going here before going anywhere else if you are new to auto wreckers or familiar because good honest customer service is hard to come by.

Meh neither here, neither there. Yes they have a lot of vehicles and signs are clearly posted to be careful but after wandering in and out of cars and spare parts just didn't find what I needed. Review is not based on not finding my items but just the people working there, just didn't seem to want to be there.
