Waste Connections would get 5 stars from me if it weren't for their poor service. I pay them for a weekly residential garbage pick up but unfortunately they have trouble with their end of the deal. In summer it's a gamble whether or not they will come but in winter.... They say my road isn't passable but seriously its a breeze with my Honda Civic with poor winter tires, and they tell me that they have professional drivers so are they scared of Canadian winter or more likely THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER.

Awful customer service. Applied for a job, was called back immediately, told I needed a drivers abstract. Provided the abstract, had an interview, did a driving test.... all within 5 days! Then, never heard anything back after being told all applicants would receive an email following the driving test. Thanks for making me jump through hoops to not notify me of the job status! FAIL.

Regarding my concern, I phoned into the Vernon branch and was re-directed to the Kelowna office. I pay cash for my tags and was unable to at the Vernon office. Fortunately Rayna (knowledgeable and efficient) answered my question and on directive was able to pay for tags previously given and billed for(computer problem). She advised the process for future tag purchases out of the Kelowna office . I appreciate that I can do the 'tag' thing for my waste collection. We've been dealing with waste Connections for over 15 years and noticed that their pricing was getting out of line with their competitors. Rather than just switch i decided to call them to discuss it further. Our account manager had retired and luckily they assigned my account to a straight shooter named Kevin. We've met a couple of times and even though I feel their contract small print is ludicrous and completely one sided, we have come to an amicable agreement and salvaged (no pun intended!) the situation. Kevin was instrumental in creating a win/win situation for the benefit of both parties. As long as they continue to be transparent and fair, we hope to continue with them for another 15 years!
