I would not recommend this company to anyone else. I scheduled a pickup for my father's house in Clarington expecting the lowest price to be $139-150, but the minimum was actually $240. The drivers thought that was too much for my load and they gave me a discount out of their generousity; however, I later discovered that this was way too expensive for the services provided. My father was also quite disappointed that there was still drywall left behind. He thought that this was not worth $219 dollar I called the St. Catherines manager, Jeremy. The following conversations revealed something off and unethical about 1-800 GOT JUNK. I negotiated for pickup for a few boxes if a truck comes to Clarington again (only if the truck is already in Bowmanville) which would not cost a lot of truck gas just to drive an extra 5 minutes in the same town. Jeremy refused this negotiation. His explanation is that the base cost is too cover for the workers to be in certain town and gas money. All they had to do is drive 5-10 in town and take the rest of the drywall and a few boxes. Jeremy’s only resolution was to offer another discount for the same Bowmanville base price. No way we are taking services from this company again The manager saw this scenario as buyer’s remorse. His explanation: Some people would think this is too much. Some people would think the price is fair. This is no way a definition of fair. There is a list of competitors who will give you a better price. One thing is to say this about a luxury designer bag. This is simply a service for people to pick up junk. You basically would have to be the “perfect” customer for this company, based on location and financial situation. You’re only going to get the minimum price if you live closer to St. Catherines. And even if this is buyer’s remorse, I see all these reviews of customers not receiving deserved compensation for poor service. These responses to bad review are quite awful. Seriously, Jeremy, if a business is doing well, and if the business model does work, the business should be at least able to satisfy or re-compensate for poor services. I don’t see people here offered to be refunded or have any re-compensation. On top of that, I feel manipulated and taken advantage. I was going to give Jeremy the benefit of doubt, but after reading the rest of the negative reviews, I feel disappointed. Though this company claims to be independently franchised, etc. it is quite miserly about its cost to point at the expense of serving the customer. I’m not a “customer is always right” person, but for goodness sake, even small family business contractors and plumbers would want to compensate for unsatisfied customers. That's what makes business, GREAT businesses. That 5 extra minutes in Bowmanville is NOTHING compared what I lost from $219 dollars. I hope others will not have the same experiences in the future. Make some serious changes 1-800 GOT JUNK. Prayers.

I recently used this company to remove the final items from my garage before my house closing, since the thrift stores are closed at this time. They were not able to come at my pre-booked time, but they kept me informed of their arrival time. They cleaned out my garage in record time. We just had Wade and Avery come from this company to remove some garbage and junk we had left over from our move and all I can say is WOW!!! Smiles on their faces when they showed up, and all through the nasty work we had them do. These boys were incredible and it needs to be known. As for all the 1 star reviews, I really don't think its fair that people can complete trash a company when 'THEY' feel the prices are too high. Wade and Avery gave me an estimate before they started which I agreed to, and when they finished they were actually below what they initially quoted. As a business owner, I know the importance of marketing, AND the COSTS... which are exceptionally high to say the least. On top of that these boys were very professional uniformed employees who were obviously very well trained. All these things cost money and can only be recouped through their pricing structure. At the end of the day I'd use 1-800-GOT-JUNK again in an instant and to all you stingy, bitter, 1-star leaving people out there, next time, if you want a great price on junk removal, here's a tip: DO IT YOURSELF!!!!

So I had to clean out my entire crawl space and get rid of a bunch of stuff. I’d never used Got Junk, but I knew what it was. I called them at 9PM on a Monday and they showed up at 10AM on Tuesday. Sam and Alberto were so awesome, they broke down the prices, told me what it would be and got right to work. All my stuff was outside and they put it in the bin within 10 minutes, seamlessly. Terrible service. 1-800-GotJunk totally stood me up and wasted my entire day. I'm cleaning out my 90 year old father's apartment and had a pickup scheduled with them between 1:30 - 3:30. I drove from Toronto to St Catharines to meet them at the apartment. They called around 1:00 to say they had one stop before me and would call shortly to give me an estimated arrival time. And then I never heard back! I called the office and they said they "couldn't contact the truck" but would email me with a new pickup time - and I never got an email. I waited around until 6:30 and finally gave up and left. Completely wasted my time. Surprisingly awful service from what is supposed to be a reputable company. I will not call 1-800-GotJunk again and would not recommend them to anyone.

I just love these guys. I've used them in Toronto many times, and when we had to empty our parents' home in Niagara Falls, I had no qualms about calling the local franchise there. The boys, Austin and Nick, were younger than I expected, but they were strong, and worked so hard in terrible heat, hauling out a large freezer from the basement, and a desk so heavy it had to be chopped to pieces before removing it. Most of their work involved them climbing the basement stairs repeatedly and they did so without complaint. I felt bad because we had scheduled them for 2:00, and they phoned me in the morning and asked if they could come earlier, as their first appointment fell through. We just weren't ready for them - I had to keep them waiting about 3 hours, until 2:00 pm. After two hours of heavy work, they advised us they had to drive the stuff to Hamilton before their day was over. They said it was "their job" and they were happy to do it. Short story, I would encourage anyone in the Niagara area to use this service - they are extremely professional and polite. Their rates are fair, and if you listen to the radio ads, it's true, you'll feel wonderful when you see empty spaces where there used to be junk. Pam

What a rip off. They charged me over $400 for 3/8 of a truck. Just Junk charges less than $300 for 1/2 a truck. Completely feel taken advantage of, they don't tell you the price until everything is loaded. they make you sign a waiver saying they own your junk then stick it to you with the bill. Completely furious and will never recommend them to anyone. Whoever says they are affordable hasn't shopped around. Already filed a complaint with BBB and the company.

My friend in Burlington paid $300 for a truck full of furniture. Through this branch, we were charged $275 for a chair and some boxes . They said they charge per line on the truck, but when it came to loading, everything was thrown in. If we weren't desperate to get rid of stuff before moving, I would have called another company for a 2nd quote.

I had a very poor experience and recommend you stay away from their dishonest pricing. I was provided a quote once they arrived for $480 which was already more than I thought it would be. Twenty minutes later once it was loaded on the truck they called back saying the final bill was over $1,000! I understand the quote can’t be exact, but the price more than doubled in minutes. They were then going to dump it all back on my driveway unless I paid. The branch manager offered to minimally cut the price but was still way over the estimate. The icing on the cake was they left this metal bar behind and instead of leaving it on the ground where it was originally they leaned it into my cedar hedge breaking several branches. Truly one of the worst customer experiences I’ve ever had at any company.

Had an old deep freezer in the basement that wouldn’t fit through the stairwell because of Reno’s done years ago that made the space smaller. These guys sawed and bent the freezer to make it fit even though I said forget about it. I checked the website online, booked my appointment for later that day and got a confirmation call shortly after. I did get a call saying that my scheduled time might be delayed because the staff was still finishing up at another site and to check that I was still good with my time. Things happen and the 10 mins beyond the scheduled time was well worth it. The guys were polite, friendly and it was as simple as pointing! Highly recommend the team.
