Well organized and quick advice from the staff helped my pile disappear fast. Easy access parking and well thought out traffic control eliminated the lines and kept the flow rolling. If I could have dropped my compost without having to wade through the dump line, that would have been the icing on the cake.

Over all okay. Cost is a bit high with some added fees on top of minimum charges. That's the only complaint though.

Went there to recycle so many old light bulbs. I was thinking how can I put them down not to break them . Some in plastic bags, some in boxes ,and some in containers which I wanted them back. I had planned to stay an hour over there to offload , categorise and put them in different spots. The gentleman responsible for bulb section saw frustration in me so right away he brought a cart near my car and told me not to bother with separating he will take care of it. OMG I couldn't be happier . Just in five minutes everything was gone . And I was out of there. I really am grateful for all the people who work hard to make the recycling happen.????????????????????????

The staff are very helpful in directing you what bin to put your recyclables in. If you think it can be recycled, this place will probably take it. The only drawback is that the parking lot is cramped, and when it gets busy there is a huge risk of a motor vehicle accident with trucks backing up in several directions.

Its fine. You can visit this place and dispose of unwanted items. BUT! there are a ton of rules. Wanna get rid of a microwave? NOPE! you better go next door to the recycling depot OR ELSE! Its best to hide all the items you want to get rid of in thick black garbage bags. Pro tip (watch for the ones with white hard hats) they will dish out fines.

Before you head out with your recycling, be aware that they close their doors early! Even though I arrived before closing, the would not let me in. Admittedly, I was there shortly before closing - 6 minutes, to be exact - and I understand that they want to go home, but I really think they should plan to let you in until closing time. I wouldn't have taken long to unload my recycling, as it was pre sorted and my trunk isn't that big, but the staff didn't care. I disagree with this policy for several reasons. First of all, how do they know how long it takes each person to unload? Perhaps they just have a bunch of cardboard that could be dumped in a minute or two? Who makes these judgements? Additionally, how is the public to know exactly what the "cut-off" time actually is? Should we arrive 10 minutes early? 30 minutes early? Is this consistent? It seems we are left to the whim of the staff on at that particular shift. One way this could all be solved is for the management ended employees' shifts 1/2 hour or so after the facility closed. This would make think much clearer for the public and prevent a lot of wasted time for busy citizens. But since the management is unlikely to change their policies, and the public has no idea what the "cut-off" closing time actually is, I recommend that you get there at least 15 minutes (or probably 30 minutes) before closing, just to be safe.

This place is great! Electronics, batteries, plastics, metals, books, cardboard, paper, glass, and rubbish & organics (around the corner). Really helps keep things out of the landfill. I hope they’re doing something useful with the plastics- I know they’re typically harder to recycle.

I've used the recycling depot for years. Never had anything but a good experience. Bins are clearly marked and, if you're unfamiliar, helpful staff is there The information is available online if you Google recycling. It's a valuable service. I would only remark that I wish they could recycle everything that is recyclable. But I get that space is limited.

Encountered an incredibly condescending and prejudice staff member at this facility. We are trying to do our part for the environment and community. Being treated with such disrespect was absolutely shameful.

Went there for the first time. Staff had such attitude very discouraging to recycle. Won't be coming back and instead of recycling the extras that curb side recycling missed just going to chuck it in the trash in the future if my recycling is missed again.

Everything in the place is well organized and labelled. Any questions and the on hand staff will answer nicely. Utilitarian to the max as it is a recycle depot. And it's free! As long as you're a resident.

Was crowded, but everyone seemed to be wearing masks. Was busy. I find the regional variations in garbage and recycling methods and policies among municipalities within gvrd frustrating and confusing but staff are helpful here. Crowding was probably related to holiday loads.

Terrible. Useless management. Whenever there are issues, there answer is to simply 'forget' cub-side pick up for the Friday route. As to why...their answer is residents in country aren't as important as those in the city. If I could rate them zero (0) I would.

Haven't been there for years and I hope that it hasn't changed because it was great! They will take most everything! Back then, you could buy what others have discarded. Why not? Reuse. Chances were that what someone discarded would be exactly what you are looking for without knowing it. Actually saw a flymo lawnmower looking in good shape. Nah! Parts would be hard to come by but was tempted.

Always friendly and helpful. Sorting rules change regularly but the staff are great at explaining the re-directs. I feel very proud that we have such a dedicated team managing our recycling. Our household garbage keeps getting smaller all the time.

Here’s something, I have a problem with curb side pickup. You send your drivers up our street on Thursday’s. The time for pick up varies from 8am-8pm. I’ve left out my recycling in the morning before work and the drivers didn’t pick it up until 7pm at night. During the day while I was at work birds attacked it and left recycling all over the street, my yard and driveway. This happened a couple of times before as well. The neighbours were complaining about this happening to them before too. So the week after I decided to wait until around noon to bring my recycling out since the thing I mentioned previously had already happened, they then decided to pick up the recycling at 8am and I missed pick up. Now this has happened too many times and it’s really starting to make me angry. Is there anything you can do to make sure this doesn’t happen?

Some days they pick up at 7 AM, other days up to 4 PM. This necessitates being up at the crack of dawn, since the City says not to leave garbage out overnight. It also means that on many days, this stuff sits for hours, attracting bears and crows, and broadcasts to crooks that no one is home. When I complained I was told this is because, on any given day, it could be a different driver doing a different route. Don't understand why they can't have the same driver doing the same route within the same 2-3 hour block of time on any given day.

I've been using the recycle depot for decades and although it's now more difficult to get lawnmower or washing machine parts if i need one. I still say kudos to the staff there. Those people working there are awesome.

I actually went to the transfer station and got rid of compostable prunings and roots at the Green Waste Area. Mid day and no line up at the gate on Wednesday. At the Recycle Drop off it's free to unload but some items are for sale on Wednesdays and Saturdays. If you are polite you might get to buy other days aswell. I needed a piece of steel plate on a Monday only paid 25 cents, good deal.

I just want to say thank you again to your crew out in the truck this morning. They saw me struggling to get my copious amounts of recycling to the curb and waited for me and assisted with friendly chat and a smile on their faces!! That speaks volumes to their characters given how cold they must be working outside all day with the extra volume they are experiencing. So thank you again!!!! Stay safe out there!
