I've been going to the laval / Montreal, Cornwall, gatineau, and Ottawa locations for the last three years. When they moved the nepean kenny upull to metcalfe (Bank st.) It was pretty exciting being that it would be bigger. Unfortunately thats the only good thing about it. Living in ottawa its tough to find the time to take the 30 minute ride out especially when the customer service you get it horrible. I've never had such a bad experience in my life .... Anywhere... When signing in they went through my tool bad which is odd because its never been a thing before i have my tools old bolts and small parts from several builds and she went on with marking it up with the 'K' and complaining i had bolts in there 'excuse me its a tool bad specific for my car of course it has old bolts' this ordeal took me 15 minutes. So despite the 30 minutes it took me out of the way i get what i felt as harassed in order to enter. She had a way of making me feel like i dont belong and I'm an ignorant child. Finally once i got in i spent a few hours in the yard collecting what i need when i went to pay i was refused by one cashier because he was counting money thats cool i get it but there were four other employees having a conversation awesome love the customer service. Finally the women who checked my bag came on over. First she didnt know what my parts were center console -w- armrest, crossmember, and a steeringwheel. Second This all totalled up to 120.00$ after she punched just random prices because either she didnt know what they were or they didnt have a price in the computer she flat out told me shes charging me double for the center console because it had cup holders ?.. Wait a second what? Third they charge you for the air bag that comes factory in your steering wheel? Not only that once you can get over it she nearly broke the steering wheel tryng to pull the air bag out to msrk it with the 'K' rather then just asking me to do it. All in all worst experience with poorly trained employees and i would not advise anyone else to got there 0/5 stars for me. I left there in the worst of moods and a waste of a day thank you kenny upull ottawa for giving me a terrible experience if i could give anyone else advice make the extra 30 minutes to Cornwall and visit ashley and jessica or go to gatineau.

This place is the best and the people are friendly. They almost always have just what your looking for IF you look for it. To all the people that complain about the 3 dollar entry charge, I'd say that's fair considering the small parts that slip into pockets and such which I'm sure happens quite often. The prices on parts are super fair they have to make money where they can.

Good location with largest selection around for the greater ottawa area. This location falls short with its occasionally rude staff (hit and miss) and with their nit picking price policy. I purchased a muffler and was told I would be charged an extra $13 for a tiny little heat shield that was attached to the muffler or I had the option to get to the back of the line and take it off. The poor guy infront of me had to pull tiny little burnt out lightbulbs out of his headlight assembly or he'd be charged for them. There is also a core charge a lot of metal parts now, which seems unfair on a part like a muffler. Seems like it depends on the day weather or not you will get a good deal on the parts you came in for.

What a great resource for people that care about their cars and are not afraid to look after them themselves. The cars are raised off of the ground so you have access to them and their prices are more than fair compared to the dealers ridiculous prices. The staff in the office are fair, reasonable and have a sense of humor. Only the whiners and do nothings complain about this place. Bring your tools and go for it. I can't believe people complain about a $2 cover charge - you are the cheapest people on earth. You gain it back 20-fold when you purchase you first part but you would have to be a forward thinker to realize that.

Oh , just a quick reminder for those that didn't know, here it is in my case ; own a car for 20 years , payments for the first 5 years = 30000$+, then no payments for 15 years = -90000$ in my pockets for strip joint and not Stealerships ( dealership ) . The cars are easy to find in the numbered aisles, part pricing is not model specific, and pricing and inventory is available online. I can't imagine going to a scrapyard not like this! The only knock on them is there isn't much of a tool rental selection.

Easy and cheap I'll be back for sure. P.s. when I arrived saw them enforce their need for contact tracing with another customer. Big plus to know they were doing their due diligence. Thank you

If I could it would be no stars. very poor customer service. very ignorant. there was 3 of us who went in. we were searched no big deal.. but paid $14 for a piece of plastic that's barely 2 inches. WAY too over priced. we didnt even end up needing the part. the cars should be better organized aswell. the cars that were on the website werent even there.

What a joke this place has become in the last little while. Apparently now there is $2 fee for just browsing the yard. Also the GM section was the emptiest I have ever seen it. I didn't find the part I was looking for and won't be back. There are other yards which are a lot more pleasant here in Ottawa. They really need to do a clean up in this place, it's a nightmare compared to other yards around town. Use the $2 you save to drive to a better yard.

Not really impressed with the prices. The used tires were the same price as I can get them new at CAPS. Plus the entry fee and not the friendliest employees. I find it so so. Easily the worst customer service I've ever received. I booked an appointment to have my vehicle picked up, yet no one came or called to cancel. After calling back, they couldn't give me an explanation as to why my vehicle hadn't been towed. They then garanteed it would be picked up the next day, so I took the day off work and stayed home. Yet again, no one showed up. When I called back once more, it was again promised that a driver would make his way later in the afternoon. Again, NOTHING. The next available appointment is now in a week. Stay away. Find another place to give your car to.

I took the day off work and booked an appointment to have our vehicle picked up between 8am and 12pm and no one showed up and no one called to tell me they were going to be late. When I called to ask what was going on (after waiting on hold for 15 minutes) I was told that they were "running a little late" and would be there in "about 1-2 hours." I planned my entire day around this appointment and when I asked for a more specific time, they couldn't give me one. After waiting 3 more hours, I called back to ask what was going on. Once again, on hold for 15 minutes. Finally someone tells me "they will be there in about 30 minutes or so." Once again, could not give me a specific time. The only reason I am giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because when they finally showed up at 4:10pm, I was given the cash I was promised for the car - no questions or fuss. I would not recommend this place to get rid of your car unless you've got a full day to waste waiting around at home. And as a suggestion to the company, customer service and call wait times need to be greatly improved upon.

(I'm a kenny regular) I would like to commend Marianne T!!! Marianne was very kind polite and helpful. She was also very well versed in the parts business . She knew exactly what I had and to charge appropriately. She also helped me on the way in and was more than egar to print me a sheet for all vehicles i wanted to look at. I have never been treated with such respect at kennys ever lol. A problem did arise when the manager stomed over for no apparent reason but Even when the manager started to raise her voice at me, marianne kept her cool and quickly and efficiently defused the situation. Due to a discrepancy in the price list they offer online. I just had a few simple easy questions and Emily started to get very aggressive with me saying that she would make me disassemble all items I picked and she would charge me for everything separately! (it was a center console that was PLASTIC RIVITED together). I did notice they now have signs in the store telling people not to be aggressive, i don't think its common folks getting angry or aggressive for no reason, people like Emily take advantage of them to the point, its either try to fix their only means of transportation, or buy groceries. This is not how this system is ran and it is unfortunate to have people on your staff like this. Many people that are down and out and can't afford new parts have to come here, and under emilys management they all will be taken advantage of. People with very little income that have to fix their car will have a little less food on their plate tonight due to Emily. **update** Take a look at the brush off response from the manager. Maybe you should get off your phone and manage your employees instead of making excuses.

Bought some wheels that were marked as 15" rims. Turns out they are 14. Tried to return them and they can only give store credit. Went to buy a battery a female employee started helping me I told her what I needed then she just..walked away never to be seen again. Yard cars are also very sketchy be careful they have a habit of falling. Decent used tire selection but be careful many have very bad cracking,wear, and well over 10 years old they are not inspected very well to say the least.

I had to wait between 12h and 16h, not only did they only arrive around 5.15pm, but once arrived I was told that it would be impossible to tow me due to the lack of space. I was then "advised" to have to call friends so they could pull me out of the parking lot and call them back so they could iron and tow my car with ease (LOL). The next day I called Cash for Trash, in addition to having great customer service their tug was able to remove my car from the parking lot without difficulty and without even saying a word about the lack of space. In short, very bad experience, incompetent employees, I do not advise. Instead, go to Cash for Trash. (Original) Je les ai appelé pour remorquer ma voiture. J'ai du attendre entre 12h et 16h, non seulement ils sont seulement arrivés vers 17h15, mais une fois arrivés on me dit qu'il sera impossible de me remorquer du au manque de place. On me « conseille » ensuite de devoir appeler des amis pour qu'ils puissent me tirer du parking et de les rappeler pour qu'ils puissent repasser et ainsi remorquer ma voiture en toute aise (LOL). Le lendemain j'ai appelé Cash for Trash, en plus d'avoir un super service à la clientèle leur remorqueur a su retirer ma voiture du parking sans difficulté et sans même dire un mot à propos du manque de place. Bref, très mauvaise experience, employés incompétents, je ne conseille pas. Allez plutôt vers Cash for Trash.

I went with a friend to get winter tires. Jojo was very helpful and even loaded them into our car for us. I have gotten tires here before for my cars and have had excellent service every time I've gone. I recommend this place if you're on a budget, if you look hard enough you can find tires that are still in good shape for cheaper than the big box stores.

If it was possible to give 0 stars I would start with that, when the location first opened my girlfriend and I went every weekend up untill recently and each time we went it had felt welcoming and friendly. The customer service was exceptional. Over the last 4 weeks we have only went twice which is very unusual for us as we go every weekend to fix up the car we have. The new staff that they have hired is very unwelcoming, very unfriendly, searches my bag which has never been done before and has accused me of stealing things that were mine to start with. The new people that they have hired have been disrespectful to myself and other customers. All around a bad experience, will not be returning to this location and I suggest the same for others.

You get to peruse all these other interesting cars when getting to the section you needed to go to, which I found fascinating. Dave came up to me with a big smile on his face, asking if I need assistance looking for the part, he was attentive, answered all my questions, and even got fun facts trivias (I ❤️ trivia!). He went above and beyond what is required for customer service and I really appreciate it! This was truly a wonderful experience! This place has really gone down hill. You now get charged $2 to enter the yard even if you're not pulling anything or are there for 10 mins. The yard has definitely shrunk compared to a year ago - good luck finding anything. This place is only somewhat acceptable if you're looking for interior parts - forget about anything else. The "clean up after yourself" rule is a load of crap - steel wheels fill the aisles and gaps of cars. Really disappointed and will not return. Thank hell for other pick and pulls in the Ottawa area.

Just scrapped my car today, and left with a bad taste in my mouth. The man counted out what he was paying me in front of me but it looked a little off. I didn't question it as I didn't think someone would be so bold but as I began to walk away, I counted what he gave me and it was $100 less. I went back and told him, and he tried multiple times convincing me that he paid me in full. Eventually he caved once I refused to take no for an answer. Really disappointing.

My experience have been both good and not so good. It's nice to have the ability to pull our own parts and the staff are very supportive. The facilities are generally well organized and clean for an auto recycler! It's a tad frustrating that you can't get any information about the cars you are interested in. You have to physically go look for yourself which can mean you drive a long way for nothing, which I have done more than once.

Not what used to be, I don’t mind an entrance fee, driving and hour or paying a premium for parts when they have a clean facility, but to have the Cashier Nigel start charging extra for every little thing he could see on the parts even regardless of the condition. For what they’re charging now your better off going elsewhere.

Good place to find cheap parts for your car or truck. But it is very hit and miss. Unless you have a very, very common car (like an old Toyota Corolla for example) don't expect them to have one. And if they do, you better hope the car hasn't been there for too long, as all the good parts are usually taken. There is also a "gate fee" for going into the yard. Currently it costs $3 a person, just to look in the yard (even if you don't buy anything). But the thing I really don't like are the kids running the cash. Very lazy. They just sit around talking even though they see you waiting to pay. This happens every single time I am there. Shows very bad for a business.

I went to get a right-rear brake caliper for my 2002 VW Jetta. Had no problem finding a car to take one from, as the website told me what cars they had that were compatible with my needs, and where they were located in the yard. The price was very reasonable, however, the $3-per-person yard admission charge is a joke, as we're not going there to be amused. Don't bother calling them, it's a waste of time; their phone service stinks! Use the website to get information.

This place is exactly as advertised, and there's a good chance you'll find what you need. The staff are good and knowledgeable, they can direct you to where you need to go. Some basic wagons and such are supplied which is is nice. Just know that you're coming here with your own tools and knowledge and hunting for whatever parts or chance finds you come across. Charging admission prices to potentially find what you want is ridiculous. There were three of us that went because the stuff we were looking for was heavy and hard to access, so paid 9.00 and we hadnt even walked in the yard. Our impact drill was stolen off our wagon while we were looking for parts. The back of the yard is three cars deep, the one we wanted was in the middle. We didnt think our drill would be stolen right off the wagon In the 5 minutes it was left unattended close by as we varifies that the car some saw had the part we needed.

The new Ottawa location is the worst of the three in the area (Gatineau, Cornwall). I was searched going in and and the guy put paint marks on some of my tools!? I bought an air cleaner box and a car bumper and after getting the receipt realized they charged for the nasty old air filter in the box and called the car bumper a truck bumper which is an extra $16. No refunds bud, only store credit. They tried to nickel and dime the guy in front of me too and were still searching everyone entering and leaving. Wont be returning.

It's like a spa for gear heads. You blissfully pay your entry fee (cheaper than a club cover charge). Pass through the sliding doors and enter into an oasis of oxidized iron. Opportunities as far as your bifocals can see! Headlights, seats, calipers, and more...prices are ok which is the reason for 4 stars, not 5. I purchased a headlight and licence plate bulb socket for a 2005 f150. I also procured 2 windshield washer reservoir motors for a 2010 civic. Cost me just under $65 out the door (that means tax included :)

I went to kenny u pull . It has really bad reviews because they have a fee just to go on the lot . Most places don't have such a fee but kenny u pull sets every vehicle off the ground from the get go and the lot is organized by vehicle make . Most places just plop the car down where ever and it's sitting on the ground . The hardest part about u pulls is get the car up to get at the parts so it is well worth the two dollar fee well done kenny well done

Did not enjoy my experience here. We found the part we needed and went to checkout. Once at the checkout, the employee was very rude and condescending. He and a fellow employee were constantly having a conversation together during the transaction, which was in a language we could not comprehend. He started charging extra for every little thing he could see on the part ( ex : hinges, plastics, latches, etc.). I later told him that other Kenny u pull franchises don't usually do what he was doing. A 69$ item ended up costing upwards 170 dollars. We ended up leaving the part there and left unsatisfied,disappointed and bothered with the customer service we received from the checkout. We are regular weekly customers in others franchises and the employees know us by name. We will get the part from LKQ, the prices vary depending on the condition, but they will dismantle and deliver it.

This was an awful place to work. What a complete mess, not to mention an environmental disaster. The majority of management has little to no regard for their staff, or their safety. I think every customer that goes into this store can agree that the current staff are amazing, very helpful and always welcoming with a smile. It is sad to see a company with such great potential being run by a group of individuals who have no background in the automotive industry, don't know an alternator from a power steering pump and could care less for their employees. This place is awesome!! Super friendly staff and dirt cheap parts :) For example brake calipers are only $15! I called another yard in ottawa and they wanted $50. Other hot tip - Cheap batteries there. Last winter scored one for like $15 for my car. Best thing about it? The *as is* cars. The vehicles have been carelessly placed in their yard. The distance between varies from less than 20cm to over a metre. The staff are not concerned and refuse to even consider getting an idle fork lift operator to adjust his mistakes. Too many office staff on computers doing what ever. Nobody on the yard itself. I have seen much better Kenny U-Pull facilities. They can do better!

Went there when they were off Merivale. Just like others had similar experience, they charge an entry fee for something they expect to find, entering their yard was a different story. Went their to get a part of a Acura MDX which was in their site and confirmed with staff about a hood. After finding the car, it was totally barebones, nothing was found on the car. And you end up arguing for asking a refund. Want to support Canadian but places like these should not exist and not all junk yards run with same ethics. Maybe time to complain to Ontario Ministry.

The website hasn't been accurate for a long time. They are not open on Sundays even though the website says they are open. They are also closed from 11:45am to 12:30pm every day for their lunch break. You would think they would mention this on their website.

Changed my view about staff. Like the previous review, i was charged an extra 30dollar for a head rest when I purchased the whole seat.. the extra charge for the buckle, sure I guess, but the headrest extra for a seat purchase? That's low cash grab. None of the other business do that. Also, he took off my 10dollar core return so he stole my original rad from me. I called the head office to enquire what's included in a seat purchase and how to resolve the lost 10 dollars for my rad core. Very unpleasant staff. Couldnt offer me a car list when I was there neither.. not there fault but not mine either..

Mazda wanted $70 plus tax to replace Airbag light and they did not have it. I went to the yard, I found one Mazda3, I pulled the light, the full cup holder set (mine was broken), and the spare tire plastic cover (mine was broken). They charged me $7 for all, the light however, was for free!!!! I was like...OMG, I came for the light, I got much more and ended up paying only $7. That was two years ago. I did not pay any fee though and have no idea if now they charge fees. Anyway, I will pay them a visit soon for a broken harness.

Only a $2 fee gets you in, and you can look online first to be sure they have the car you're looking for. Of course, you can't be sure the specific part is still there until you show up and look for yourself. I've not yet been disappointed. If you like saving and don't mind getting your hands dirty, then this is the place for you.

Bought an automotive battery, 95% of the stock they had was 5-6 years old. Most batteries only last 5-8 years. The core charge was $15 which is normal but when I returned the old core they didn't refund the money to my credit card which ever other battery reseller would have, they gave me a store gift card. I asked how much was on the card and was told by the cashier $17 even. Then was told that the sister company aim recycling next door could pay me cash for the gift card. When I went next door they said that they don't and walked me back to Kenny u-pull. Where the same cashier told me I could sell the battery core next door not the gift card if I wanted cash, but the rate would be less. I ended up selling the gift card to a customer that was checking out for $15 cash and had the same cashier that told me there was exactly $17 on it. He scans the card and says no it's only $16.95 on the card. I will never buy anything from this store again and advise you to check about core return policy and credits before making any purchases. Especially if you only plan on buying one item and nothing else.

Low, but unnecessary entry fee. Should be refunded if you buy parts. The yard is overall pretty clean and easy to navigate. The portable toilet was covered in feces. The worst part is the fact that they don't charge you what is posted on the online price list. The comment from the representative was "we don't follow the online price list, we improvise at the cash" which cost me almost double. Would be careful with this business model, you may be better off buying a used or refurbished part instead of paying the improvised price.

I was super excited about a "Kenny U-Pull" opening across the street from me. NOT ANY MORE!!! Ever since they have opened there alarm has been going off about every hour all night every night and stays on for about 45 minutes. I spoke to the manager and now apparently when the alarm goes off it goes directly to his phone to notify him. Now it goes off every 1/2 hour and only stays on for about 15 minutes. REALLY!!!! Fix the dam thing!!! How hard can that be?? Contact the contactor that installed it figure out the problem and FIX IT!!! If this post doesn't work my next call is to the city!!

I asked about rims in stock as I am a long drive from the Ottawa location. The guy I spoke to said they had what I needed. When I go there they did not have them and said they haven't for a while. He said he wasn't sure why the person on the phone said they would. Now I have no rims, and lost almost two hours of my day.
