Seriously impressed with the Gan Home Hardware’s level of service during this (absurd) lockdown period. From phone call to pick up the total time it took to get my order in hand was around 2 hrs. A serious improvement from Home Depot’s wait times. Peter, the sales rep on the phone, was INCREDIBLY helpful and personable. He took extra steps to ensure I was getting the best products for what was needed and was able to offer suggestions. Stand up guy! Not only are you supporting a local, Canadian business if shopping here, you’re supporting a great team. Keep it up, folks! Was there around 09:00 hrs July15 2020. I had phoned around 08:00 to talk with the plumbing dept to make sure they would have what I required to repair the drain leak on stainless steel kitchen sink. Talked with Robert discussed repair options and said I would be right in, about 45 mins from my home. Robert had everything set out and we discussed options. Super individual WELL DONE !

Brutal pricing. I bought a 6" flexible conduit at this store as I was in the neighbourhood. Saw EXACTLY the same item at Home Depot in Kingston a few days later for HALF the price ($9.98 vs $17.99). Pick another store to shop for home improvement unless you are in a pinch. Another point, the cas line-up was also brutal.

This is the best hardware ever. Being single, I try to fix everything myself. I will bring in parts or pictures for help and the staff can tell me what I need and how to do it. We always have humorous conversation. Likewise in the yard, staff are fast, efficient and pleasant.

Fantastic store for the DIY'er. Lots of stuff to shop for. Lumber yard has great service and do custom cuts. Not much in the way of automotive products, because they specialize in hardware and Gan is brimming with auto parts stores. Good Stihl Chainsaw & parts section.

Sunday October 20th at 10:15am the “Greater” a young girl with straight long hair gave two of the guys I was with a scratch and save and didn’t give me one. We laughed and said I was rejected. She knew because it was obvious. Honestly, it wasn’t nice of her and she knew what she did because she looked right at us the whole time. It made me feel bad quite frankly. It would be really good if you could teach your employees to be fair and nice. The cashier at the front wasn’t much better telling us that we were lucky she was nice because she didn’t want to use the scratch and save since we had already scratched it. Maybe talk to the girl at the front and teach her to #1 give scratch and saves out to everyone and don’t be a so mean :( ... #2 talk to customer and tell them the “rules” so that we don’t scratch before we should. Really bad experience all in all.

Shockingly disrespectful disregard for customer care. Waited over 30 minutes in line on 30 degree heat to process my already placed order. Only to be told to pay and then go to another door and wait again only to receive my goods( which i had already paid for ) and find out they were filthy and broken.

Fast service but lo mein overcooked and mushy with very little chicken or veg. Gen pso tasteless chicken psu.guy was a.joke a hunk of breaded chicken no.sauce or veg etc. Just a big chicken ball. old win ton soup noodles in pieces tasteless. Old freezer burned egg rills just hunk of cabbage in middle had three threw two and a half out....worst chinese food ever!!!

I've been trying to shop local however this store needs to improve its ability to move people through the cash registers more efficiently. I have read the rest of the reviews and for the most part I agree. The other place that needs Improvement is it has filthy washrooms and when I approach the manager about it he informed me proudly that they clean them three times a week. I was not impressed at the value he puts on his customers health. It's a hardware store show off your ability to keep it clean with the wonderful products you stock on your shelves. dried feces on the wall is unacceptable. And that was the third time I had complained about the bathrooms once they were so bad they were unusable.

Barry stepped up and helped me greatly with a Uhaul rental. Uhaul had messed up my order and told me I could pick it up and drop it off in Kingston. I got an email saying the trailer was in Gan. I went to Gan to get the trailer and Barry called Uhaul and spoke up for me and got them to waive the one way fee so I could just drop it off in Kingston. I had my 15 month old daughter with me and Barry sped the process up to help me get out quickly. He has a great personality and is a GREAT asset to your team! Thanks, Barry.

Staff are always knowledgeable which is why I stopped going to Rona or Lowe's. Somehow, seemingly impossible as it is, they have staff who actually know more than just what shelf something is on. The manager gave us a hard time with returning flooring they said we could return whatever was unused. This is the 2nd reno project where we bought flooring at this store, and we spent over $2k This go around. They go back on their word! To boot, the manager started raising his voice at us and just walked away!! This is the last time we buy anything at this store.

Too bad I can't give zero stars. Not happy with Home Hardware at the moment. Went to return a drill, that was purchased yesterday, so I could purchase a larger one. Had the new one plugged in once, and realized it wasn't big enough. Because it was used once, it can't be returned. Promptly went to Canadian Tire to purchase the larger drill, instead of buying another at Home Hardware, and will not be spending another penny at any Home Hardware.

Here is a place where you will find absolutely everything you need. You know how sometimes you say let's go to Walmart because they have everything? Well this is the "Walmart" of Gananoque! They have all the basics you would expect at a hardware store, along with so much more... Furniture , home decor, very unique seasonal items etc. Since they're individually owned you can find showcased products from local entrepreneurs that are specific to Gananoque & 1000 Islands. As soon as you walk through the door the staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
