This place is an absolutely rip off, I gave them 92lb of brass and the only weighed 71lb, who knows what they do to every customer, be very careful if going to this place. On top of that they pay you less per pound that other places, only went there to this place but after this serious incident I'm no going back ever. The state of Texas should take a look to this place.

I went yesterday 6/24/2019 and had well over 25lbs of #2 copper and they only they said it was 13 lbs .I have a picture that proves it. I actually sent them the picture. They say there's not a thing they can do about it since they already dumped it. I asked for an honest opinion from the picture I took and showed to them. They responded but didn't answer my question. I'm so upset I qorkes hard to collect that copper hoping to get food for my family. I will do my best to warn others about going there. Like I was warned.SHOP AROUND C&D. Cause they can't show you your weight until you get a receipt to cash out. I want to take my one star off and leave 0 stars.

I finally gave this place a chance. I normally go to fort bend recycling. Was advise to try this place out. Especially with all the ads they do. Place is nice. People nice in office. Big problem. Nothing showing on scale what your actual weight is. Gone here 3-4 times. I've taken my scrap metal/steel load to weigh scale and get weighed. Then come here and my weight is less than what I was showed at another location. Big difference in when I bring in one garage door to unload then I bring in two garage doors with more scrap the next week and I got paid much less..I brought up the issue to the guy in the scale window. Gave me attitude when I brought to his attention. They pay less than other competitors as well. Not sure what is going on with scale here. Not fair to customer to not see their weight of before and after. I'll take my business elsewhere.

This is the second time I go here and last to throw steal and second time they steal and put the wrong weight for steal that I already know the total weight. Missing 160 pounds of steal. People my opinion you stay away from this rookie people they will cheat you especially this old man telling me how long he been in this business so I had to tell him how long I been in my business and I know all a out these doors I dump, I have papers to prove under the manufactured company that show the exact weight, if I could give 0 to these people I would punks.

Been going to old location for years. Never had any problems. Now at new place last two times got screwed. Went this weekend. They didn't pay me for an aluminum wheel I took. Then guy puts my 4 compressors on scale with my aluminum breakage. So apparently my 4 compressors weighed 138 pounds and all the aluminum weighed only 24 pounds. Quick it should have been the other way around. So I got screwed. Same thing happened last time. Wont be going back.

Good place to move your scrap, prevent it from being thrown away and get a little money. I have no doubt given the amount of money they spend on advertising they will not pay you as well as other places. If you have knowledge on what things are worth feel free to shop around...however if you want a straightforward relatively fast experience come here.

I went years ago before reviews were available and of course I was a victim of their shoddy offer for some metal. I've never been back, but I don't know how that company stays in business ripping customers off with inaccurate weighing of incoming material. Would be nice if there was some undercover investigating in their business practice. I will NEVER support anything that has ties with this business. Avoid!!

They label everything that sticks to a magnet as “Shreaded Tin” even though we took 45 lbs of wrought iron gates. We got $4.05 for it. There is a reason why they pay in $2 bills, you’r Not going to get much more than that.

They're more likely to steal from me and take my identity and mess up my credit. No thanks. I come from the financial industry and that is unnecessary, sensitive information to give them for $8? So this is my first time coming here and I called various scrap metal yards and obviously they all had around the same price on batteries $0.21 to $0.25 per pound. However I called C&D and they quoted me $0.34 to $0.31 per pound for 8-9 batteries so I'm assuming depending on the amount of battery's that you're going to recycle the price goes higher. With that being said I had 581 lb worth of battery material and once I got the receipt it showed $0.25 after talking to the cashier about the phone call she changed the price to $0.31 per pound. The only negative thing that I could say about C&D is that you can't see the scales so they could be rounding your numbers who knows but I still think I got a fair price will be returning. FYI if you do make a phone call to C&D and they give you a certain price make sure you tell the guy at the teller weighing your stuff that they quoted you a certain amount and they should change it accordingly

Scale weights are not displayed. l separated metals by type & rating but received the next lower rate. 33 lbs of #1 copper was weighed at 20 lbs of #2. This is no longer a trustworthy location.

I’ve always said and most smart people know that you don’t mix politics with your business. But really...? Make Scrap Great Again?????? Wow!!!!! What a bone head decision. You alienate probably MOST of your customers. Especially in such a divided climate. Hire a publicist. I’ll never ever look at your company the same again and I’m sure many will agree.

I would recommend C and D to everyone in the Houston area. From the initial call to Bryan to the last item removed, this was the best decision we made to use C and D for this monstrous, time-sensitive project we had to attack! We were accommodated on every request we made. From Rosy, Brittany, and Bryan in the office to the wonderful, courteous ,and friendly drivers Henry and Ivory, we cannot thank them all enough for taking care of us the way they did. This place is great if you love getting screwed. I brought 200 lbs of copper and 140 lbs of batteries here. I weighed it before i went up there. They paid me for 150 lbs of copper and 110 lbs of batteries. They dont have anywhere that the customer can actually see what the scale says. You just have to take their word for it. But hey, they pay you in $2 bills, so that must make up for getting screwed.....

I was extremely frustrated, at first, but a lady there, made it right! The male employees required my ID, didn't tell me why they asked which vehicle was mine & sent an employee to take down my plate number, with no warning nor explanation, which of course infuriated me. The lady in the office was kind, apologetic, offered the explanations that the other employee didn't bother with & made the situation right. She has the best Customer Service I've seen, in a while. I left happy. FYI: I did learn that they don't accept regular household battery & pressurized containers, helium & similar, are required to be cut in half before they'll accept it for recycling. (Fortunately, another patron was kind enough to take my helium tank, so he could cut it for recycling.)

Been there a few times before always felt like I got a fair deal. This time they gave me 8.15 for 281 lbs of #2 insulated wire. Going rate is .60 a lb. Total rip off. Never again. Update thanks to C&D for checking into this and calling me to say they made an error. I got my check for what I was owed and I appreciate the honesty.

Took well over 200 lbs of rebar and some bags of cans. Got $19 for the cans but nothing for the rebar. They said it was scrap metal. Imagine that, a place that pays you for scrap metal unless you bring them scrap metal. I know it had to be worth something. Funny thing is, they dont tell you this until its unloaded from the vehicle and it's time for them to pay. I wonder if they would have loaded it back up in the truck? Edit: it was our first time there. When someone says your "good to go" we assumed everything was all good. The issue was resolved with a few phone calls and investigating by the staff member. He was very helpful. From 1 star to 4. I know how the place operates now and will give it another chance down the road

They were unloading a truck next to mine and dented my new truck and refused to pay for it. Contacting my lawyer ! Also if you go to a true weighted public scale you will find that they scale says 30% less. I've taken my scrap metal there for two years and today they lost a customer and I will make sure that they lose as many as I can possibly help them to lose!!

Waste of time, took an entire AC system here for scrap and left with 8 dollars. I took an entire system (Condensor/compressor/housings etc) for recycle after it was replaced in the beginning of spring this year in my household. I was asked for reciepts of install, which was not an issue. Provided them the information and receipts and was cleared. Got on the scale, did everything went back to the front to weight the condensor and compressor because those items were going to get a higher value, and all the sudden there was an issue with the paperwork. Even though I had the same address on my ID as the paperwork, it wasnt enough and was declined to accept the units....this was after they took the junk metal off the truck in the back. After going through their entire process and not wanted to unload this at my house again I asked if it could be donated, and they said yes and took it off the truck immediately. So, in a nutshell.....they will happily take possibly stolen goods for free...but will not pay you for them. They also require more information from you than the social security office. Seems like a minor issue of my receipt shouldnt be an issue when im being fingerprinted, picture taken 3 times, vehicle being pictured and license plate and drivers license recorded. Thanks C&D

Scam Act. They don't show you how much the items weigh. They gave me not even 5 dollars for a cast iron sink. They avoided eye contact after I asked them if they are serious. I would have saved more money if I just threw the items away. Wasn't even worth the gas. Never coming here again.

I went to this place because of their radio advertisement. I was very excited to visit this place but it turned out to be a big let down. First of all, I was dumb struck when I couldn't see the scale displaying the weight of my metals and batteries. I never went to a recycling center that doesn't display the weight........... Second, it felt like I was going to the Death Star! I was asked to do so many things it felt like a prison system. Even the window for the teller seemed to be bulletproof. The glass was thick and I had to repetitively repeat myself because of the thickness of the glass. They also asked me to get my thumbprint twice and took my picture twice. Then I have to get registered and get a RFID chip card, huh???? If I have to go through this every time it would drive me NUTzz!! Worst of all, being as big as this place I figured they can afford to be competitive. Well after I got the receipt I realized they were only paying half the price of their competitors for metals and batteries.
