Had a break down in the Kootenay pass out of cell service. A trucker called us in at the top of the hill and Scrapking was out with two trucks (one for our truck and one for the sleeping trailer) in no time. Good thing I have AMA! They took me right to the Nissan dealer in Cranbrook. Thanks Chris and gang -- you made a bad situation manageable.

Steve Rigter

I have called Scrap King 5 or 6 separate times looking for different parts, to be told that they will look and see if they have one and call me back. Not once have I received a call back. Then when I call again to ask about it, they have no idea what im talking about.

This review is for the Creston location on 211 Collis St. (I couldn't find them on Google so I am assuming this is the same company) Had my SUV break down with trailer in tow 15 minutes from Erikson. They were super quick to respond to us, and had both the SUV and trailer loaded in no time. They also helped figuring out a place to store my vehicle while plans were made to get it home, and really went above and beyond with helping us out during a sticky situation. Special thanks to Chris, Jacky, and anyone else on the team who assisted. Great team of people!

Very helpful staff I called for a part and when they didn't have it. They went that extra Km ( mile ) And called me back and told me they didn't have it but Lordco in Fruitvale had the new part in stock. For $ 49 + tax.

Scrap King is unreal! I cant even begin to explain how much they helped me in my time of despair. Firstly Kavan the tow truck driver is extremely experienced and got my car out of an extreme situation and into the garage. I was then warmly welcomed by the lovely receptionist jacki who instantly made me feel at ease. Not to mention the mechanics Mike and Chris who helped with my damaged car. The whole team are super friendly and honest. I will be back!

rick

By far the most unprofessional business in the Kootenays.

Danielle Eastveld

Such a great help when my car broke down on the highway today! I'm covered by BCAA so can't speak to the expense of towing, but the people working behind the desk were super friendly and helpful, they called around and found a shop for me to take my car to that could fix it same day, and the driver got me there in time to get my car sorted out! So grateful!

SCRAP KING SHAME ON YOU SHOULD NOT SELL ANYONE A TIRE THAT WAS MANUFACTURED IN 1990. FOUNTAIN TIRE IN KELOWNA SAID THIS UNACCEPTABLE...AND VERY DANGEROUS. THEY EVEN PUT BLUE CHALK ON IT LIKE A BRAND NEW TIRE. I HAVE PICTURES FOR ANYONE INTERESTED. I HAD AN ALIGNMENT DONE THE SAME DAY AS TIRE WAS INSTALLED. I HAD ALL TGE AIR PRESSURE BEFORE I LEFT FOR KELOWNA. THE STEEL BELT BLEW OUT OF TIRE STOOD UP ON END A FOOT. THE TIRE IS 29 YEARS OLD!!!! WHO DOES THAT TO SENIOR. I PHAVE PICTURE OF TIRE BEFORE AND AFTER. AND YES I SWORE TWICE BECAUSE TGE RECEPTIONIST LAUGHED AT ME. Absolutely the worst experience in my life they sold me a tire they said was brand new. I had put on my van I am 61 yr old woman. Drive from creston to kelowna. The tire was manufactured in 1990 should have never been sold was info I received from fountain. Tire in kelowna. My tire blew left me stranded in Westside on a curve. Was almost hit three times. Had to call bcaa. I could have been in a serious accident. They won't even refund a pensioner the money for tire. They are not reliable at all. If I could post pictures of tire I would. Fountain tire said that they should at least refund for tire and tow truck. Fountain awesome service also said that that was so dangerous. Scrap king shame on you.

Fantastic owners! Very professional and pleasant to deal with. If your willing to pay the asking price you can’t go wrong. However, my ONLY gripe would be pricing. Not that any other yard in the Kootenays is any better. Perhaps it’s because I’ve been spoiled when using PickNPulls self serve model at both Kelowna and Calgary locations. What a treat it is just to visit self serve yards. $1 entry fee, bring your own tools, have a field day! Parts at serve being a micro-fraction of any Kootenay yard. Perhaps that’s why? Cause your doing the work your self, no need for costly staff to pull for you. Sadly NO self serve yard exists in the koots EX: I was attempting to upgrade my cars cloth seats to leather from the same make model year, just requiring a donor salvage from the GT model. 3 Kootenay yards had what I was looking for. All 3 wanted $100 + for a single bucket seat. I needed 2 front buckets and 1 back bench seat. Lowest price any local yard for all 3 seats in the koots was over 400 bills! I politely declined but kept the idea in the back of my mind. I’m with ya, it wouldn’t make any sense to make a special trip to a Kelowna or Calgary yard to save $$$$ BUT......while we happened to be in Kelowna for our sons soccer meet.....Pick N pull landed me 2 buckets and a rear bench leather seat for $75! All 3 seats for less then I would have paid for one individual seat locally? What gives? Kootenay tax again?? Self serve appears to have a “sell in volume” model as apposed to the Kootenay , “buy low sell high” Grant it, it’s a business and the entire point of being in business is to make money. I get it totally! I just wished a local yard would adopt the “self serve” model. Betcha the first yard to do so, would decimate all! Just sayin’ Rather then crushing or rotting let the part go for less, then watch many many more parts going for less flying out the door and filling your pockets
