Fantastic owners! Very professional and pleasant to deal with. If your willing to pay the asking price you can’t go wrong. However, my ONLY gripe would be pricing. Not that any other yard in the Kootenays is any better. Perhaps it’s because I’ve been spoiled when using PickNPulls self serve model at both Kelowna and Calgary locations. What a treat it is just to visit self serve yards. $1 entry fee, bring your own tools, have a field day! Parts at serve being a micro-fraction of any Kootenay yard. Perhaps that’s why? Cause your doing the work your self, no need for costly staff to pull for you. Sadly NO self serve yard exists in the koots
EX: I was attempting to upgrade my cars cloth seats to leather from the same make model year, just requiring a donor salvage from the GT model. 3 Kootenay yards had what I was looking for. All 3 wanted $100 + for a single bucket seat. I needed 2 front buckets and 1 back bench seat. Lowest price any local yard for all 3 seats in the koots was over 400 bills! I politely declined but kept the idea in the back of my mind.
I’m with ya, it wouldn’t make any sense to make a special trip to a Kelowna or Calgary yard to save $$$$ BUT......while we happened to be in Kelowna for our sons soccer meet.....Pick N pull landed me 2 buckets and a rear bench leather seat for $75! All 3 seats for less then I would have paid for one individual seat locally? What gives? Kootenay tax again??
Self serve appears to have a “sell in volume” model as apposed to the Kootenay , “buy low sell high”
Grant it, it’s a business and the entire point of being in business is to make money. I get it totally! I just wished a local yard would adopt the “self serve” model. Betcha the first yard to do so, would decimate all! Just sayin’
Rather then crushing or rotting let the part go for less, then watch many many more parts going for less flying out the door and filling your pockets
