Here you have all the opinions of people like you who use the products and services of Sullivan's Scrap Metals (Scrap Yards) in Churchill territory (Canada).
At the present this business has a score of 4.1 stars over 5 and the rating was based on 89 reviews.
You must have seen that its rating is very high, and it is founded on a very large number of scores, so we can think that the rating is very accurate. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they've done well, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to set tatings when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Scrap Yards belongs to the category of Recycling center.
Scrapping for over 30 years. Today was our second time here and it will be our last, due to one particular employee. The Russian man is extremely rude and disrespectful. Especially to women. When I came in alone the first time he literally rolled his eyes at me when I didn't know the procedure. He watched me unload my car into the cart and then the cart onto the scales... There were no other customers. He literally stared at me struggling and made zero effort to lift a finger to assist me, even when he was directly in front of me at the scales. He has also been rude, abrupt and unprofessional to both my husband and I. He told us on 2 occasions that stainless steel is not magnetic and refused to buy it from us. But has no problem taking it to "dispose of it" without payment (we declined this offer). In our experience there are magnetic and non magnetic stainless steels depending on the grade. As of today non magnetic is priced at 44 cents while magnetic is 31 cents per pound. Therefore, the non magnetic ss that he wanted to discard for nothing was worth several $ To top off this frustrating visit, he locked the door to the ATM prior to finishing up the last 3 customers. Those 3 customers were left with a slip showing the $ due, but no way to get their cash. When we questioned him about getting our money he very rudely and abruptly, with his back to us told us to "go to Cafe". From other reviews posted here, it appears that customers with trucks full of metals are very happy with Sullivan's. But the average person/homeowner with less than a truck load is treated very poorly. Due to this particular employee we will not be returning.
Very nice setup. Clean and professional setup with great scrap prices
I like this place. Very quickly get some money for metal that I'm not using. Less trash in the land for our family's.
Friendly staff. Decent scrap prices plus free coffee!
Cleanest scrap yard I have seen in the area! and everyone is very help whether over the phone or in person. Will be coming back.
Great place always go there
1. Pull on to the scale 2. Unload the truck 3. Pull back on the scale 4. Visit the ATM 5. Get some breakfast at the Steel Penny
I have been a customer for years, and I just caught on to the fact that I have been ripped off, the atm rounds your balance, so if it's under .50cents you get ripped off for the change so Sulivans keeps your change, imagine how much extra money they make off each customer.....I will be filing a report with the better Buisness Buro and I may call Osha also, considering there is nails and sharp metal littered all over the parking lot.......they also rip you off by under paying you, they told me the price they had advertised was only if I had a few hundred pounds but bc I only had 20 lbs they deducted 20 cents a lbs, and the staff is trained to rip you off....
I love working for this company, great staff and love taking care of their whether they are new or have been scrapping with the company for years. Its truly a one of a kind scrap yard!
Great place to scrap your leftovers. Nice owners and very accommodating. Plus they opened a small cool cafe onsite that opens on Wednesdays for free coffee!
I always get acknowledged and enjoy my visits. The staff make me feel like family and always put a smile on my face. The prices are always the highest. All together Sullivan's is the best scrap yard I have been too.
Always a pleasure to deal with amd always fair prices. Plus they have a cafe winng all around
Great experience here! I scrapped old Christmas lights. The guys were very professional, and the coffee shop next to it is an awesome bonus.
LOVE SULLIVAN'S! BEST PEOPLE BEST PRICES BEST PLACE EVER!!
Ignorant ripoffs if you ask alotnof questions nthry get mad and act as if your stupid
Not competitive at ALL!! Drive the few extra miles and get fair prices. Tight, cramped spaces, you have to drive to the other side of the property on the road to get your money which is then dispensed from an antique MAC machine. The attendant in the non ferrous area is so rude and unfriendly is amazing he keeps his job!! So with all the above issues you don't even get a thank you from an employee.....although the MAC machine says thank you........in Spanish!!!
I called before showing up with a large utility trailer fully loaded to ask if they would lift the metal off and the man on the phone said they would use the crane but when I got there the man at the scale said I would have to unload it myself.
I have been scrapping metal for over 10 years. I tried Sullivans out today as there website and customer service was outstanding. I called before I arrived to verify that they accepted the precious metals I have obtained IE: Bronze, Titanium, Brass and yellow brass. I scrapped my heavy metals without issue until I had to go to another section to scrap the smaller amounts of product. I was rudely met by a guy named Al who threw a bucket at me and told me "This is how it is done here". He then proceeded to argue that the bronze was not accepted there, the yellow brass was light iron, and my insulated copper wire was just wire. When I told him I would go somewhere else he began belligerent that I don't know what I'm talking about but he would accept my Bronze and Brass but for a lower copper price. I told him still I will find another yard and he started speaking a different language to another employee and was laughing at me. When I brought in my heavy box of Stainless Steel he watched me struggle to put it in his container and it spilled all over the shop. He just looked on as I had to scoop it all up and put it in "his" container instead of just weighing it in the box. Totally disrespectful and arrogant. Plus the prices are the lowest I have seen in this area. I will go back to 611 metals where the ALL the staff is friendly, helpful, and accepts all my precious metals without incident. I wondered why this place is always empty when I drive by, now I know why.
Sometimes the 5 gallon buckets “weigh” 6 pounds each, sometimes they “weigh” 2 pounds. A little consistency from the scale master could help out, because let’s be honest, a 5 gallon bucket weighs less than a pound. Update: You guys just gave me 8 $2 bills as payment, no one takes these, anyone under 35 thinks they’re fake. What wrong with regular bills????
Great place to drop off my scrap metal. The staff is very helpful and nice!
I don't scrap too much, but Sullivan's makes it easy. They have a great facility and I'm always in and out as fast as I can get weighed and unload. Super easy to get paid.
Prices are a little low
Good place
For smaller things take it to their scales near the Cafe, weigh, payout in the Cafe. Could use a sign for directions for first timers, though. In and out in 5 minutes. Free coffee on Wednesdays, too. Staff were helpful and not playing the tough guy act like some scrap yards. Thanks
CTC Demolition Company is on site in this area and we are using Sullivan's for our scrap. The service for us has been outstanding. If there are any issues, it was addressed immediately and resolved. Gordon has been especially helpful. We still have another metal building to take down so keep them cans coming!
Came here to weigh our newly built 4x6 overlander trailer. It was my first time being here. Staffs are very nice to work with.
Had a great experience going to these guys. Easy in and out and clean parking lot.
It sucked, only got 20.
Most well organized and cleanest facility I have ever better in my life. Staff was very helpful.
Bad 5 hrs for loading
Yard was clean and personnel were extremely helpful. Dropped off 500 lbs of wire and was in and out in 15min. I'll always use this company. Thank you for all you do.
Artie is one of the nicest friendliest persons that I've ever dealt with as far as efficiency and just common courtesy
They are fair on the pricing of scrap and friendly
Riped off. Not with low prices stuff but messed items up intentionaly with lower prices on metals but switching multiple things around. He must have also not weighed at least 2 different coppers because the weight was heavier than any items on the receipt. Employee weighed different coppers and computer items and while we unloaded the rest. They closed yard as I was walking to the machine for the pay. He must have felt like it was perfect time to rip me off. Went here instead of normal spot cause of quarantine changing everyone ones time. Disappointing cause its closer than regular place. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Never again
very bad
Nice people ????
Called around to check prices and get directions from various places. Not only was Sullivan's the most courteous and informative on the phone, it turned out they had the best pricing over the others as well. Also...their website rocks!
Worst price for metals. Don't even check what you got, just tell you to dump. A truckbed full of aluminum might get you a sandwhich at Subway honestly. Don't waste your gas. They simply rip you off, make profit of your hard work and use that to buy all these flat screen TVs and new equipment the have in the facility.
Extremely simple to use, friendly and helpful staff.
First time there, I knew nothing about recycling metals. Both employees I dealt with were incredibly polite, friendly and very helpful, explained the whole process. I was not concerned about getting ripped off as everything is pretty much out in the open unlike 611 metals. I highly recommend Sullivan's.
Great bunch of guys!!
Clean driveway, friendly helpful staff but somewhat busy and constricted to navigate around the scrap yard.
Easy-to-use
Worst prices!! Don't waist your gas and time!
The Guy weighing the Metal has a bad attitude every time I go there His job is To Weigh metals and customer service he has a very poor attitude it’s a shame the place looks nice for a scrap yard and there prices are ok not the best but there ok but I won’t go there again I would have tipped him if he wasn’t rude to me
The worst experience I had going to Sulivan's. The management is rude, they rip you off every time, they do not give you the right price for the metal you have! this place and the people SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ZERO STARS The people and service sucks!!!!!!
Convenient, and a very friendly staff. Their container service is great for larger loads. I've showed up with large machines on my equipment trailer, and they unload it quickly with no problem either with their forklift or their larger equipment. They'll help out whenever they can!!
Always curtsious and efficient service
Great place, fair prices. Remember, the more you take the stuff apart and separate components, the more money everyone makes.
Everyone has always been helpful n very friendly.
Great place to waste your gas for the worst prices
Easy to drop off scrap for recycling!
I waited in line for 45 minutes to drop off iron because they were loading a trailer with cardboard and blocking the scale. Then I went over to the copper and brass scale and was told by the arogant a**hole that he would only give me .25 cents a pound for my 380 lbs. of plumbing brass because of Zink handles on a few of the faucets. There were a total of 5 in 3 full trash cans. I went elsewhere and got the 1.35 a pound the scrap was worth. My advice to the owners is to get that a**hole off of the scale. He needs an attitude adjustment. Use him in the yard somewhere or fire him.
Small yard to maneuver a tractor trailer in but friendly people there and give good rates for the material.
Great bunch of people and extremely helpful! Friendly, organized, and professional. Thanks for making my day !
Great, very friendly..
Very helpful staff, easy process.
Very helpful and great service
*Go anywhere else* First time coming to this place. I wasn't entirely sure how the process here worked. The russian gentlemen working seemed so annoyed with me and was not at all helpful. Very rude actually. I also don't think I got a fair price for everything I brought in. Unbelievable that you let people like this work for you. I've gone to many places and this is by far the worst I've been treated.
