This is honestly the best scrap yard I've ever been to. The staff at bare wire are amazingly friendly, they will explain to you anything you need explained, and they almost always go out of their way to put a smile on your face. Bare wire also has competitive pricing, and I love how if you sign up for their phone alerts you sometimes get bonuses texted to your phone so that when you bring in certain items during the promotion you will get a bonus price added to your final sale. Thank you bare wire for being my favorite scrap yard in Calgary!!

This new, clean, second location of the venerable Calgary scrap metal buyer builds on the solid reputation earned by the original store located in South Calgary off of 42nd Ave SE. Conveniently located minutes off of Deerfoot Trail on 12th Street NE just North of 32nd Avenue NE, or only minutes South of McKnight Blvd NE. The shop being open until 7pm Mondays through Fridays (now, not opening until 11am) are genuinely convenient to any customer or recycler that works (for example) a regular 9-5, and finds a regular 5 pm closing time impossible to facilitate during the work week. From what I've heard from others, this has eased Saturday wait times here as a result. Service comes with a smile from staff who are knowledgeable and quick to help. My trip to this shop presented by far the cleanest metal recycling facility I have been to in Calgary and very possibly, anywhere. A huge accolade in my books, and therefore highly recommended.

Always great service and efficient. Until today. We arrived around 740. We were informed that they could only do etransfer. Which was fine. We were told that it could take up to an hour. We'll its been more that 90 minutes. Still hasn't arrived. Not impressed.
