Used to be a good location where you could recycle lots now that they moved they barely take anything other than bottles. Guess the city takes most of that now.

This takes the stuff that the eco centre doesn't, like electronics, lightbulbs, appliances, clothing etc. Bottle and can exchange here. Staff are helpful. Parking isn't great. Not open holidays.

never been to your place, my regular place is closed right now, we have 10 bags of pop cans and juice boxes, all separated and counted and in clear bags. can we just return them to your place without re counting on site and get our refund back.

Granted I've only seen the post covid layout of the sorting stations, I must say in my opinion the worst and most cumbersome bottle depot in Vancouver. This coming from a guy who's been to almost all Van has to offer and someone who bottles quite frequently. The machine that deposits your money jams constantly, big clunky carts, and me simply browsing over the recycled electronics got me a good stern warning with aggressive undertones, again for simply looking at a pile of junk for more then a second..... But hey, it has a good hand washing station.

They have moved into a new location which is significantly smaller and seems more dangerous for the customers. There is a forklift driving around where people Park and unload their vehicles and the woman driving it was screaming at everyone to get out of the way. Pulling out of there with my car was a bit tricky minding the forklift . Also I was chastised for spilling beer out on the parking lot. I was told there is no drainage and the beer would attract wasps. Keep your EpiPen handy if you have allergies. I asked the staff why they moved and was told because it was cheaper. Morale seems low. It was super cramped. Not sure about this place.....maybe it will get better as they get used to it.

Sent my 17-year-old sister to return our cans and she was harassed by the middle aged male workers there. One of them asked her if she was in highschool and then proceeded to ask if she had a boyfriend and was single. She felt very uncomfortable and rightfully-so. This is such inappropriate behaviour and I am so disappointed and will obviously be sending a male to accompany her from now on. Be wary to anyone with children.

Car battery had died while we were there. The general manager personally drove us to our house to get jumper cables, drove me back to my car and helped me get it started. Very good customer service and the staff were very helpful.

A hassle free place to bring your recycling. In addition to the cans and bottles, you can also bring electronics, household goods, etc around back and drop them directly into the sorting bins.

Yesterday I did my first fast drop service. It's simple enough that I could go on my phones internet to open an account in a matter of moments, and drop off 5 full 135L bags of recyclables in less than 3 minutes. The person on site took my bags, and gave me a receipt with information matching the info on my account. The process states it should take 1-2 business days to process; after which your fastdrop account will reflect the balance. You may either make a 'quick account' or a 'full account'. With the quick account you have to return to the depot to obtain your monies. With the full account you have the option of etransfer; They state 1-2 weeks for the transaction to process.

Always a pleasure to return my bottles here. Staff is always helpful and available to help or answer any questions you might have. They also trade in scrap metal or batteries. If you have any questions about everything they do, just give them a call.

Self-serve area. This place recycle electronics, microwaves, TV, monitors, printers, home appliances battery, lightbulbs, light tube, cellphone, cables, smoke alarms, Cd/DVD, usb stick, and there is another area for recycling bottles. :)

Use to come here all the time when they were at their larger location; which use to have cardboard recycling btw, not anymore. My experience here use to be quite alright, pretty normal and quick easy service. Ever since the move to the new location, I've noticed a change in staff and attitude. For some reason they don't give the receipt to the customer anymore and when I asked for the receipt today I noticed they counted all my alcohol cans and glass bottles as pop cans and plastic water bottle prices (so $0.05). When confronted, the girl (Kayla I think) denied I had alcohol containers and also said they already sorted everything. She also told me there was no way to confirm what I said. Look, I don't care about the 1 dollar or whatever, its the principle! By not giving the receipt is she pocketing the difference??? Shady :(

We went there today to get rid of some old paint & pesticides as well as some metal & other recycling. We put the pesticide in the arena marked "Pesticides" & a very rude young man with long greasy hair came rushing over yelling at us that they don't take the products we were wanting to get rid of. We asked him where we can take them & he just shrugged his shoulders & said "I don't know." Then my husband asked the young man where to put the soft plastic & he said behind the TV's. My husband looked around the immediate vicinity & couldn't see any TV's so he wandered over to the far side of the lot looking for them. The young man then yelled at the top of his lungs, "What are you doing over there? People aren't allowed over there!" It was a very unpleasant encounter & we will never go back there again! We have gone into the bottle return many times and never had any problems but won't be going back to the back of the yard again. We were just trying to do the right thing to dispose of these harmful products responsibly and to be spoken to in this manner by a rude & unhelpful employee was a horrible experience ????!

The manager here is an absolute legend. Help me get my car fixed in the pouring rain and wouldn't accept any money. Can't thank him enough. Also the other staff here have been helpful and nice to speak to.

Go there once per week....Sunny and other staff are great...total all bottles and give him details...I am honest and he trusts me...automated cash dispenser is way ahead of it's time...the Covid 19 time...I like the fact that the service is fast and effiicient...able to wash my hands...wash my hands...thanks for great service.

Burnaby bottle depot is run by Regional Recycling and is open daily from 9am to 530pm except for Christmas day Boxing day and New Years day. Full deposit returns for bottle and can returns. Also accepting non ferrous metals and FREE reycling for electronics items ie computers laptops vaccums televisions light bulbs electrical tools batteries etc. NOTE: located on the north side of Norland with limited parking.

I was recommended by a friend to come to this location to drop off my bottles and my electronics as I was told the staff were very friendly. It was the exact opposite for me when I came in. When I drove into the yard I could not find any people in the yard to help me with my TV. So I then went to return my bottles. After I put my bottles into the trays I proceeded to the checkout where no one was around. The redhead girl and the African American girl were standing in the back talking not seeming to care. I had to stand there for waiting for at least 10 minutes waiting for someone to count my bottles. The redhead girl and the African American girl did not bother to come and count my bottles, they got some guy to count them while they stood and talked. After my bottles were counted I went back my vehicle and had to go to the person on the forklift & ask for help removing my TV. I will not be coming back to this location @ I will also let all my friends know not to go there either. If you want customer service you will never get it here.

The new manager is out right rude. Has absolutely no people skills. No customer should ever be spoken to like i was..Refuses to buy scrap that i have been taking there for several years. Tries to cheat people on the price paid for scrap and Even though i am in their system , drive the same truck with the same plates thats in their system , im required to show I.D. or he refuses to take my scrap. like im some kind of common thief. I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on. The only reason i even gave a star is because you cant post without one .. but its thumbs down in my eyes..
