Found the lady to be rather shady and dishonest , offered me next to nothing for catalytic converters . Went to Brighton Recycling who paid a fair going rate . I would leave no stars If it was possible.

Been into scrap metal for years now, and I know #1 Copper from #2. Had a pail of shiny #1 laying around and thought rather than going to my usual guy in Brighton, I'd give the locals a chance. Big mistake! Tried to tell me it was #2 "because it is slightly dirty"! Again: #1, and as clear as a bell! She insisted and all of a sudden she could barely speak any english. She tried to tell me I couldn't take it back, because she already weighed it. Yeah, right! Stay away! Total rip-off! Went to Brighton, got paid for #1.

Gate wide open but no one on site at 815am. We waited around and called - machine says they open at 8 as well. Forget it, driving to Brighton.

Yard guys - nice helped me unload & separate to get best weight - However after taking in a total of 159 lbs of non-ferrous Brass/Copper/Aluminum I got $89.75 - Which is daylight robbery and slurs the whole industry - Never again - I should have driven the extra 20' mins to Brighton Metals....

I pre weighed my brass before going. I expected a bit of a loss but at the current prices and only getting 1/3 of the value I will never return again. This is the last time I always say that but even new owners doesn't make a difference.

Terrible experience, will not be returning. If your not familiar or new to Trenton they don't seem to understand the concept of signs . Rude staff, not friendly nor helpful at all. They expect everyone to know what they are doing when pulling up. The new concrete pad had ice on it and not salted at all. My spouse fell and all three workers in the area just stood there and laughed no one came to see if he was ok. The machine operators don't seem to know how to use their words. They just honk at you and point. They do not get out of the machines to assist you They have no spots to pull in and turn around, you must be able to back up a trailer to unload. Other then the guy working the front office they entire staff is useless. 11 workers on site and not one was interested in taking out money, clearly they do not need it. We will drive to Brighton recycling from now on because they know how to treat people. We live 1km from Karen Metals and 30 from Brighton, with today's experience we will make the drive.

Short version is this; Go somewhere else. You'll be glad you did. Long version, I have been involved in scrap for 15 years including working for a few scrap companies and have worked on some pretty high profile industrial demolitions in the GTA. I don't work in scrap any more and I've moved to Trenton. While doing renovations I started bringing my scrap to Karton. This is the worst scrap yard I have ever seen. They're horribly disorganized and don't have a proper non-ferrous area. They know literally NOTHONG about scrap and sooner or later I guarentee You'll pop a tire.

Not a bad scrap yard, clean weight area and newer scales. The new owners are hard to understand sometimes but the lady was very friendly and polite

Only one person in the office when I got there .. hard to find her. A pretty low price on metal chairs I took there ..6 cents / pound. She had some other numbers written on the bill that made no sense . somehow 40 lbs became 120 ? .02 @ 120 = $2.40. The area is very congested for maneuvering as well with a lot of shattered glass you have to drive over. The only good thing is it was very close to my residence. Any more trips and I would spend the time and go to Brighton, they were much better organized the last tome i was there
