After ruthlessly cleaning out my closet and purging 3 huge bags of clothes I was left with probably 200 hangars. I hated to just put them in the trash and city blue bins forbid them for safety reasons which is understandable. So after calling around I found Recon. Jerry was very helpful in emails and so I found all the extra metal that I had and drove it down. I had 68 pounds of hangars alone! They took it all. I got $2 back but it was the satisfaction of not using the landfill that made it worthwhile. Happy days!

I've used several metal recycling companies and these guys are tops. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and they pay decent rates for the materials. Compared to Calgary Metal just up the road who are horrible, they deserve 12 stars. They pay for items that Calgary Metal would charge you to "burden" them with. Highly recommended!!

Very complicated process. If you have a washer or dryer or any appliances to dump, don't wait in line and follow their complicated procedures for $3 to get payed for a garbage washer. Just dump the appliance for free and go.

Other then them trying to argue with me saying my plate was registered to another truck (I drive a small sedan and have this plate for a long long time) it was a good experience. Blond lady behind the counter was polite and helpful.

One guy at the front was very helpful. But when I went to the back to were I unload my metal there were no signs, no employees to direct. So I found a bin and just tossed my stuff, and once I was finished I finally had an employee show up and yell at my for dumping in the wrong area. Thanks for the help recon.

They are the quickest metal scrap yard I have been too. Its usually smooth and steady dont wait much like at other places. CALGARY METAL is slow compared to recon you spend twice the amount of time from beginning to end. It's bad enough metal prices are so low and it's almost not worth picking Scrap. THE CITY OF CALGARY SHOULD PAY US FOR WHAT WE DO...INSTEAD WE CLEAN THE CITY FOR FREE AND WE ALSO END UP PAYING THE DUMP TO THROW OUT THE NON METAL MATERIAL WE GET.

Been a scrap hauler for several years now. Started dealing with Recon back in the summer of 2015. Loved the place and the people who worked there since my first day. The staff is beyond excellent as they treat you well and have even taught me a few things I didn't know about the scrap metal business. I have tendonitis and they even helped me unload my truck. The payouts are fair considering the markets and they're honest about it. One employee even took me on a tour and showed me how non-ferrous materials like copper is processed and how I can make maximum dollar out of the materials I haul in. I will continue to go back to Recon as they are the best.

First off they don’t explain too you where to go just point. The guys in the shop do not know how to communicate, there is barley enough room to back a vehicle up in there bay. All in all go to barewire recycling or Calgary metals. This place is literally a joke.

Stopped by with an exhaust system I didn’t want to just take to the junkyard. Not only was it extremely easy to drop off, but the fellas helping flagged that there were catalytic converters ( I thought simple resonators) in the system and paid me accordingly for them. Goes to show the professionalism and integrity of the outfit.

Horrible took in over 1400 pounds of copper aluminum and steel 1 deasle generator weight of 500 pounds alone and I got a sad 258.00.....absolutely ridiculous!!! Will never use them again would litterly go hand pick everything I took there out just too atleast double it anywhere else
