Brought in old copper water tanks from the 50's, even though they were copper I was given a "dirty brass" price around 1/3 of the actual value. Do not trust. Double checked afterward with the manufacturer label and corrosion colors, they were copper and not "brass"

I brought in some clean scrap and the attendant told me there would be a reduction for mud mixed in with the scrap. The operator said it was clean when he unloaded it. The attendant told me they would unload it with a magnetic machine. The operator used a grapple instead and put a HUGE hole into my trailer. Two broken deck boards and some bent metal. I asked them if they would do anything and they said no because I signed a waiver for damage on the way in. Brutal. Don't go there unless you want to fix your equipment everytime.

was very happy with my first visit there. Lady at the wicket explained where I would drive to off load and then come back and get my copper and brass looked at. Chris was very helpful and explained that it I spent a bit more time and took the brass apart from the other metal i would get more for "clean" brass. i will go back again.

Use to think that Rakowskis was an amazing place... till they set me up... lied to me stole from me all the time... but I just let it roll on by cause I liked the place but now it's done... the blond that works there is evil... I call her the warden cause that's how she acts to everyone.... enjoy

I have been here a handful of times now, and for the most part the staff have always been super helpful. The yard does feel a little cramped at times (mainly when there's a line of people wanting to exit the yard) but other than that everything has been pretty great. They are also the only scrap yard I know of in Winnipeg that has their prices posted on the website which is a BIG deal to me, it saves me having to phone in, and saves them getting called about it which is why I don't know why others do it. They are missing some prices of the more obscure things but that's not really a big deal. When it's not busy the guy's at the small scale have been very helpful in teaching me things like organizing properly. Highly recommended!

Staff were curt and unfriendly as i was on property with a friend who was using their recycling depot, and i had to use the facilities -- well, try not to -- because, if you are pretty and a woman-- the staff doesnt understand why you would be in their building at all - In fact -- for using the washroom and getting a glass of water -- i was made to feel out of place. And as if i was a sex industry worker . Who for some odd reaon-- had decided to wander around their yard-- Not nice people -

its a friendly place but, every time I bring in bright copper and #2 copper... it doesn't matter if I try to separate them for the right value, they just pay me for #2 copper.

Good experience. Organized yard. Clear instructions on where to drop my scrap. I brought in old bikes and car parts. They don't take tires with rubber still mounted fyi. Only if attached to a scrap vehicle you bring in.

They don't differentiate between aluminum grades. went with 6061 and 7075 offcuts. told "it's all the same." Got 0.40 a pound. Go to urban mine. Should have went, but they were closed on a Christmas shutdown.
