We've got the information of real people who bought the products of General Recycling Industries Ltd. (Scrap Yards) in the area of Batoche (Canada).
Right now the firm gets a rating of 3.6 over 5 and the score has been calculated on 54 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is very positive, and it is founded on a high number of feddbacks, so we may think that the evaluation is very credible. If many people have bothered to leave their feddback when they are pleased with the business, it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to put tatings when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Scrap Yards corresponds to the category of Recycling center.
Close waaaay too early on a Saturday. And they won't take loads after 12pm.. Might as well put closing hours for 12 instead of 1.
Super place and staff
Super place and staff
Do I have to give them a Star? Had dealings with 3 separate staff on my visit the other day. They were without a doubt some of the worst customer interactions I’ve ever had. Each staff member was blatantly rude and didn’t know what the other staff member was doing. I will NEVER deal with this establishment again and I will make a point of letting my opinions known to all business connections, friends and family.
I am from India, I'm just having one small question , Do they export the copper?
I'm not sure why there are such terrible reviews. I had a small amount of copper to sell. I was in and out in 10 mins with cash in my hand. Is it the cleanest place? No. But it's a scape/junk yard. What do you expect?
Friendly Staff!
If I could give 0 stars, I would. tl;dr: Was told a scrap motorcycle would have some value, then they changed their minds after I unloaded it and they left me with nothing. Full story below. I brought in an old motorcycle, not expecting to get much for it but anything is better than nothing. I stepped into the office and asked if they buy scrap bikes, the gentleman inside (who was actually rather nice) said "It wont be worth much, but we pay for the weight. Just come along to the scale." When I pulled up to the scale, the guy that came out to look at the bike said "There's not much value to it but drop it off and we'll see what it gets you." - implying there's SOME value to it, which didnt suprise me - the bike is half cast aluminum! After dropping it off, I head back into the office. The same guy that looked at the bike says "You're free to go, there's no value to it. I told you that from the beginning." I'm free to go? Gee thanks! After a long discussion, I ended up leaving with no bike and nothing to show for it. If they were honest from the start I wouldn't have cared as much, but the fact they implied there would be SOME kind of value before I dropped off the bike goes to show their business ethics. New to the city, and I guess I'll be looking elsewhere from now on.
Fast, friendly service!
I've been buying metal from General Recycling for a long time since before it was called General Recycling. I usually get what I need in a reasonable amount of time for a good price. Sometimes it's busy but that's usually a signal as to how many customers are going in and out. I'll probably keep looking for my steel there as long as I'm around.
We called yesterday morning go order some steel. 24 piece's 20ft lengths. Called another 3 times during the day to make sure it was ready..was told yes. Come on following morning to pick it up..were told this isnt even ready yet we still need to cut it. Far cry from them saying its ready. Hmmmm
Great service and prices and always friendly!
Only ever had one poor experience with this scrap yard (a couple years ago) and they've redeemed themselves since then. Everyone there is pretty helpful and they're prices are always fair for the market and in line with the other places in the city.
I had three car batteries and a motorcycle battery to take in. I called and they gave me a price per pound. I weigh the batteries before I left home and knew what they weighed. after I got through they shorted me 10 lbs. I told them I weigh the batteries and that I had a scale in the vehicle. they said their scales can be off by two pounds. I think I will be looking for somewhere else to buy and sell steel
Never seen such a poorly managed operation. 1 scale to weigh in/out, and 4 line ups of vehicles from different directions, and about 5 minutes per weigh in. Unbelievable. I had a small load so eventually just left without getting paid. Crew in the yard was friendly and helpful, just don't count on making it that far!
It's a bonus
I've been in to this location three times as per the time of the review, and on all three occasions, I was greeted with a friendly attitude and very specific directions. Any questions that i had on my first trip were swiftly answered. The crew working in the yard was very helpful, and the crew in the office has a lot of smiles, and tons of conversation to be had. Overall, I would definitely recommend disposing of any scrap at this yard! Great service!!
I get good service there. The guys in the yard and the sales staff are very courteous.
I have ALWAYS been treated fairly and paid the going price for the stuff that I have taken to them.
It was a great experience. When I arrived I was greated with a very knowledgable person who directed me to where I was to go to unload my copper and then what door I was to enter to get payed. Everyone in the whole place are so helpful and kind. It was a fantastic experience that I was not really expecting for a scrap yard.
The guys in the yard are very helpful and very nice and polite
Cynthia our sales rep is ALWAYS extremely helpful, and very knowledgeable. She knows the business inside and out and is always there when you need her. She continuously goes over and above her duties to make sure you are happy and well taken care of. I would never think of using anyone else! Thanks Cynthia :) Westpoint Cutting - Acheson
Good Service
Great customer service! I am amazed ????
Great customer service! I am amazed ????
Went once said they couldn't take my scraps cause theirs oil residue on it then they took and said I can't get paid for it all but they will take it very disappointed can't help feel ripped off
Good Covid practices in place. Fair prices
Great people there
I was turned away from this business today with a 3000 lb load of of steel to be recycled. I arrived at 12:35 and they close at 1:00 pm on Saturdays, but they stop taking in loads at 12:30, some excuse about cooling down equipment. I even offered to give them the load free of charge, because I certainly didnt want to load it twice. Thankfully a competitor of theirs in Spruce Grove, even though he was closed on Saturday, allowed me to dump the load where at least it will properly be recycled.
this place is a joke drive here 1 hr with a full trailer of scrap and these fools dont accept me at 4:45 PM. good on ya guys
I was very happy with the way we were treated when delivering a mixed batch of scrap metal to this yard. We've been dealing with other scrap yards in the city for years thinking we had a good thing going, but decided to give this yard a shot. I'm glad we did since they are a cut above the rest. Right from the get-go their staff were helpful in showing us where to go, and we got a better value for the items we brought in - both steel and some more valuable items. Their copper rate was surprisingly good! I got a true sense that they are there to help make the most of your scrap load, unlike some of the other burn-and-turn scrap yards we've been to. I have to say that this yard can get busy on a weekends, like other people have pointed out, but its because they are the best (that I've dealt with) and they do everything they can to keep everyone waiting looked after. To their defense, my partner and I witnessed a few customers ranting and raving with unreasonable complaints while we waited (some people just can't be satisfied). The staff handled it professionally though and without escalating. These folks are great at what they do. We'll definitely be back again.
Have been dealing with scrap yards for 18 plus years and specifically with general for 5 years. They are very professional and by far the cleanest scrap yard I’ve been to. Always happy to deal with them and are very fair!
I have been dealing with General Scrap for approximately 10 years. Very happy with their professional service. Our Account Representative, Cynthia, gives us great personal service and has helped us recycle material in other parts of Alberta. Pricing and weights are fair and transparent. Previously, we were at the competition but after regularly having them take 1000 lbs off the weigh ticket we decided to move our business to General. Couldn't be happier with General's level of service.
HONEST and FAIR money for my scrap. I have been going to scrap yards for 30 years but I had never been to General Scrap. I will be honest that I had apprehension because I had never been there before. I thought they were going to rip me off and play some games with the weights or something. Wow. Was I wrong. I watched the boys weigh my aluminum and when I went up to get paid it was exactly accurate. Actually, they paid me a little more than I was expecting. Mike at the front was fair, professional and friendly. This is my new favorite place to take all my scrap.
Top notch operation!
Horrible scrap yard. Dishonest and shady. They will rip you off every chance they get. Take your scrap somewhere else and you will easily get twice the price. I went to Acme scrap after these guys tried to rip me off and got twice the price per lb that general offered me. I've been taking in scrap copper for years and they guys are one of the shadiest places I've been to. I will never go back.
I called in and asked for some 1.5 x 3 tubing 1/8" wall. Was told there was some. Called in again to make sure. Was reassured there was some. Drove 45 mins to hear i was lied to. No one checked. First and last. Thought this would be like the Southside. I was wrong
Great experience here every time. I've been bringing scrap loads of aluminum from our window fab shop, and big loads of steel from our farm for years. We're always treated well and paid well. Nice to visit a busy shop where they never forget your name! I'd recommend General to anyone looking for top value and friendly people to deal with. A+++
I have always had good service here when I bought in scrap for recycling.
I was very impressed with the staff throughout and great teamwork within the organization. The workers are very courteous and efficient in assisting the new customer through the process. GRI will happily continue be the destination for my employer’s recycling metal salvage in Edmonton, AB. p.s Check out their Webpage too.
Today I had the pleasure of meeting the owner of this company. The man is a fantastic businessman who knows the value of the his customers. They offer fair compensation for the material that they process very efficiently. I even heard they're improving their customer service and relations! Thanks!
It seems not onest when you do not show to the people the weight of the stuff, I brought there a lot of cutter and in the end they told me way les weight and in the morning when I called them they told me 2 to 2,50 for pound and in the end it was 2$ no discussion. Never come back to that place
Brought in some scrap metal. Had to wait an hr to get my cash on my way out. Parking for a big truck is confuseing at best. No visible organization at all in my opinion.
Horrible service from the office manager. Yard workers are nice. If the office knew how to apologize for sending customers home after long wait times or for dinging vehicles when loading metal (metal weighed less than 20lbs so it being too heavy isn’t a good excuse) then I’d give them a higher rating.
Great people and easy to find.
Friendly and efficient staff.
