I’m going to give this place a one star review. I would give them a zero*if I could. Approximately year ago I bought a motor from them. I drove all the way from Calgary. They swore up and down the motor was good. Very low mileage. However within 5k. It was burning oil. Not cool. I now have the money to finally fix it. However when I did phone them to express my concerns about my purchase. In my mind, I am like “wtf you mean beings the motor back??? The motor is already installed in my vehicle.”
There was no real empathy expressed towards my plight. To be honest, I felt they were quite rude. You could hear the condescending in his voice. It was an arrogant expression. I thought it was exceptionally unprofessional. Become that arrogant. Towards someone. Especially with the power of the Internet. I’ve had over a year to calm down. To breathe. And to reflect upon it. What they should’ve done, is that, said listen, we understand that it may have cost you approximately $2500 to put an engine in your car. Because you bought ours used. And then there’s compensation for your time of driving from Calgary down to red deer, I mean to medicine hat and then back to Calgary and then dropping an engine into the car. That’s what it cost me. Now, the engine is in my car. But I have to take it apart now. or I should say, replace the passenger side cylinder head. Because the motor had a Healey coil installed it. It injected the spark plug. Non-reparable status. The head was no good. So I had to go buy another motor. To tear that cylinder head off of it. Not a simple task. So now this job, is going to cost me about $2000.
I am iMagine that they may read this review at some particular time, in which case they are more than welcome to contact me. And say hey listen, we understand that one of our guys treated you very badly. And unfortunately, we do understand that it does reflect upon our business model and customer service reputation strongly. So we may not be able to give you a $5000 engine, because that would be just not something that they may not be prepared to do. But in reality, what they should do is give me a $5000 credit at your wreckers. Because $5000 retail, is nothing to you guys. Not when it’s being purchased in house. I know what the cost markup is on stuff. I buy used parts from Ruckers all the time. All the time. I do a lot of my own work. Anyhow.
At particular time, due to my experience with this business, I do not recommend buying parts from them. Especially engines. Or anything to do with powertrain components. It is my understanding, that the person that I actually dealt with WAS the owner.
