I have 10 years of experience driving forklift rough terrain machines also experience in past employers in scrap matel ..i have applied to this company 4 times..the forth time I applied they said I wasn't a good fit and didn't have the quality of experience..the thing that gets me is the first time I went there in the interview they said we like if you dont give up we take notice of people who keep coming back it shows persistence..yea okay perhaps i dodged a bullet and a huge waste of time. Witch bring this thought into mind ,if they can't see a good worker how do they pay a good worker, its scrap metal not a nuclear power plant....p,s they do seem to be hiring alot, speaks for its self

This is the best scrapyard in the entire region including neighboring yards.i drive the extra mile through 4 o clock traffic to go there from Kitchener otherwise I won’t go. The workers are friendly and are always joking around and having a good time, even near closing time I never feel rushed or have any kind of rudeness. Always get top dollar and very fair, great and fast reception desk and the coffee machine is amazing!

This is my go-to spot for returning scrap. Nowhere else in town is easier or has better returns. Also, the staff, from their dispatch over the phone, to the ladies in the cash out booth, to all the employees I've met in the yard, are always helpful and friendly. Only complaint is that I've picked up a screw in my tire once or twice, but I don't think I can say I'm surprised by that, it is a scrap metal yard afterall. 5 star rating for 5 star service :)

We arrived at 9:30 am on a Tue. Mar. 20/18. We were met by 2 anxious men eager to help us. The men were truly amazing and kind unloading the 600+ lbs of copper and brass from our vehicle. Scott was especially helpful in taking me to the Cashier's office to complete the transaction. We were made to feel like "special customers" . We were finished in 3/4 of an hr.

The whole experience at CMI is great, staff are always on hand for various jobs. Starting with safety, then you get proper direction & they'll even help you grade materials if you're not sure about it. They always give the best possible prices to. I've been a customer for awhile so I get increased prices on certain materials. I've gone to other scrap facilities in the past, nothing compared to CMI because they properly grade & give the actual going prices & dont try to nickel & dime. I will not go anywhere else, bottom line.

I would have given it a three if it wasn't for the staff. It was my first time there and like every other new experience, it was a lot to take in with little direction. They should have sign at the entrance that helps with the process like you must go to the scales before entering the yard and oh watch for on coming traffic! 2) wait for the person in the trailer to tell you to go ahead instead of reading a sign below the window that says proceed to the end to obtain ticket. 3) upon exiting the scales a person should direct you where to go...i asked another patron. 4) to leave you need to go back on the scales one at a time....i had someone right behind me that had to back out. 5) you have to wait for the person in the trailer to give you the ok or ????to leave the scales 6) they should tell you then to park, go to the trailer to get your receipt so you can then go to an machine to get your cash. Other than all that confusion and guess work, it was a good experience and they paid fair market values. I also wish they had a sign on where to drop off copper.

I recently visited this scrap yard, I am planning on renovating my home and figured I could make a couple of bucks with the scrap metal. I had a list of questions and when I asked the girls in the cash office they called a supervisor to help. The supervisor Tony helped answer all my questions, he was friendly and very knowledgeable. I even asked him a couple of questions that he did not have an answer for, Tony walked me over to another employee and stayed with me while this other young man answered my questions. I know that I’m not a regular customer or a person that will be bringing in truck loads of steel but I felt like I was their only customer. In a place that was very busy it’s nice to know that the customer comes first here no matter who he is. I would highly recommend this place, I know it’s a place I’ll be coming back to very soon!

Be very careful when using there shopping cart because I notice that they deduct too much. I used the same shopping cart 4 times and they deducted 65lbs., 70lbs, 72lbs 75lbs and I was told that the heaviest cart theu have there is not over 60lbs.

Be nice to know if open monday the civic holiday ? Other than hours may differ on site . You can not view your weights as being g weighed on indoor scale , clean cast and low copper frying pans only being payed.07 cents a pound , you may as well shred it with the stainless and plastic handles still on. If you take a pic of scale weight going in time dated and coming out take another pic of scale weight . They usually do not add up. If you tally all your weight. Try it and see.
