This yard is in awful shape and in a terrible location on a busy street with limited parking should you be stopping in front to unload your non-ferrous metals or even driving into the main yard to unload your steel. The times I've gone were chaotic and you feel rushed by everyone. When you bring in your metals to be weighed, expect to get ripped off by the man running the scale. Also, expect a lot of confusion on your purchase ticket as a lot of my non-ferrous metals were bunched together and listed as "mixed metals", where I should have gotten more money for one item over another. As low as the prices are at this yard compared to others in the area, they'll still try and find a way to cheat you from getting fair market value for your metals. Today while unloading my shred, the attendant came over and asked what I was going to do with my pile of motherboards in my vehicle, and that I could dump them and get the same value as the shred, trying to trick me and test my knowledge so they can profit. If you bring in a small load, they'll make a mockery of it and tell you how little it's worth. Unprofessional staff, lousy yard.

Separate your metal into different types (ex. Scrap steel, stainless steel, copper, aluminum, etc.) ahead of time to make the process smoother.

Horrible place! Unorganized, no one knows what's going on. the guy in the forklift pointed me towards the owners. There is no parking, so I drove into the yard. The owners both walked up and down my van peering in with their hands cupped over the windows. It felt like I was at a safari with apes crawling over my van. I told them I don't have any metal to sell and I needed to buy some scrap. The website STATES that they sell metal... The one owner told me not to come back. I only went because I was in the area. I usually go to RAM iron and steel. That place is best by far

Between doing my own home renovations and having several clients that do a lot of construction and demolition, I always bring my scrap metals to CIM to get great service and good value. The boys there have a Niton analyzer which reads the exact breakdown of the metal for when I bring complicated items. Highly recommend!

This place thrives on the backs of the low income local residents, who can spend months finding what they can to make some extra money. Most of them probably don’t realize they are being taken advantage of, or just don’t have another option. This is the only place I’ve ever seen people take the bus to drop of metal. That says a lot. Unfortunately there aren’t many options in Toronto and so this “business” takes advantage of their monopoly in the neighbourhood. The “drop off and drive back out, around and back in again ” to get paid system here is chaotic. Your doing two laps of the place for one load. Traffic in and out of here on Dundas can be insane, good luck during rush hour. Worst of all, they aren’t legit when it comes to the true value of goods dropped off. You will get ripped off and not get fair market value for your load. I’ve caught them on this before, and mentioned it, to only have them begrudgingly give me a few extra bucks. Honestly, this place isn’t worth the effort even though it’s the closest for most people. I much rather drive the extra 20 minutes to West Etobicoke where I know I’m not getting ripped off and getting fair market value, where I can see my trucks weight when I drive in, and out, where I can do it all in one shot without doing laps, and where I’m not being rushed or worrying about traffic going and coming.

They offer 15 cents a pound for electronics (Sept 2017). A full trunk of old PCs (9 towers) yielded $21. It's not really worth the hassle unless you get your stuff for free and don't mind some traffic to and from this place. Call them first for a quote for what you have.

they provide the service you expect but they pay only half of what they should and this company is very sporadic with handing out receipts. Running a proper business that prevents the often reported crime of copper/steal stealing - they are not doing it.

Total rip off. A box full of mixed items clean good stuff the guy at the weigh scale he did not even sort it properly just did it by eye and wrote some stuff down. I got $25 for my big apple box of good metals I spent months gathering 10 boxes of stuff and I sell one of them and I had to spend $6 in bus fare and 3 hours traveling for $19 what a waist of my time and effort never again. Not even worth my time or even my thoughts of doing it. I saw a man buy a bucket of brass and he paid $175 for it and my box had lots of brass in it and he give me nothing for mine. RIP OFF!!!!!

Very good service and best price payed through out the year. Staff are very polite and strive to help every customer that comes in. I like their approach as they serve first come first serve base. Managers are honest and with a sense of humour trying to create a smile to every one that comes to their scale. They even give free magnets for people to help them separate their scrap metal from any other metals.

I had some scrap computer equipment and a few heavy metal items from a renovation. The people at the yard were friendly and helpful. They seemed very professional and gave me more cash than I had expected. They had very knowledgeable staff and were a pleasure to do business with. I had a great conversation with the owner and was surprised to learn of their long history in the city. It was amazing to see the level of organization and equipment they had on site.
