Looking to try something new? Visit the Toronto School of Circus Arts! I visited "circus school" with a large private group booking and had a great time. It was a little hard to find initially. Some outdoor signage would go a long way. We tried Trapeze, Silks, Tumbling, and the Ariel Hoop. It was invigorating and terrifying all at once. I only wish we had a little more time to spend at each apparatus. Maybe I'll just have to go back!
Amazing circus school with fantastic, safe coaching. They've also gone above and beyond to make the space extremely safe during the pandemic.
I had the best experience planning a private trapeze class for a friend's birthday (we are all 25+)! Decker and Linda were a pleasure to coordinate with, very organized and responsive. The class itself was great, such a fun experience and everyone loved it. Decker and Yuri were great coaches. Would highly recommend planning an event with the Toronto School of Circus Arts.
I initially started Circus classes here back in 2015, and moved a lot between then and last September. I’ve gone to and done many different circus classes both in Toronto and Montreal, and out of them all TSCA is my absolute favourite! The coaches and owner are wonderful and care so much about everyone’s safety, and really push you to do your absolute best. They also challenge you when they know you are capable of more! The space is huge and you’re able to try so many different things. Highly recommend going here for anyone who wants to casually do some classes or for those who want to go full circus :)
Such an amazing school for any level. Beginners get ready for the time of your life! This place is packed with fun and hardwork. The environment is great and the staff make you feel so secure and safe! Amazing community within those walls!
Went for Friday night Trapeze drop in. Decker and Yuri were super fun! Their confident guidance helped me do a bunch of cool tricks that I was scared to do when arriving. Definitely recommend. Cool date night or evening with friends.
I have been trained by the team at TSCA three times now over the last couple of years specialising in Bungee and Spanish Web and have had the most fun! Big shout out to Decker, Lauren and Nicole who constantly make us feel safe and are very patient with me and cast mates. We have been fortunate in having freedom to learn lots of new 'tricks' and the equipment is very innovative for our unique theatres/stages and of high quality to add to our production shows! I always have a laugh with these coaches and I look forward to the next opportunity to train and develop more skill with them.
What a Dream come true! I went to TSCA for a fun afternoon workshop with workmates but it was so much more than that! We all had the opportunity to try Aerial Silks, Lyra and Flying Trapeze! Everyone felt like they achieved something and had an absolute blast. I recommend TSCA for all 100%!!!
Awesome Instructors and Team. Very Organized and focused. Trains according to students ability. Blessed and feeling Happy to meet such Wonderful Teachers and Students :) Great School.
Working as a performer for Disney Cruise Line I had the great opportunity to work with Decker and Mark for my job strengthening. They explain how to do things easily and also positively encourage us to work harder to strengthen ourselves. Spanish web is something used for one of our shows on the ship so having a taste of that at our studio encouraged me to come out to the Toronto Circus Arts school myself to try out all the other things that were offered. I really enjoyed doing the trapeze and will definitely be seeing myself going back to it!
The coaches here are talented, professional and a dream to work with. Highly recommended TSCA!
I love the trapeze drop in classes here. The instructors are really nice and it is a fun night out of the house for singles, couples or groups of friends. Also good for learning some new skills.
Awesome place to try out gymnastics. I tried Silks, which was great. Teachers are patient and welcoming. Definitely recommend to try out.
Booked a private class as a birthday outing and it was the funnest thing we’ve done in months. Decker and Yuriy were extremely professional, patient, and made sure all of us beginners felt safe. I am not a fan of high-octane events but I’m glad I gave this a shot. Highly recommend!
3 weeks into the handstand course I had a shoulder injury (outside of the course) and had to ask to put my current session on hold. On October 1 they agreed to give me a credit to sign up for another course at a later time. Back and fourth over e-mail correspondence there was no mention of an expiry date on said credit. When I contacted them to sign up for a new course, they told me it had expired. In very small writing on the credit they sent there was in fact an expiry date of December 1 the SAME year so I only had 2 months to use it from when the credit was issued. It was really disappointing they didn't bring this to my attention, as I would have scheduled something before this date and 2 months seems unreasonable, especially knowing the reason was a shoulder injury. I wanted to share this incase someone is in a similar situation and they don't lose over $500 to an unreasonable expiry period. The handstand course itself was great the 3 weeks I was there and I was really looking forward to going back. I'll be going elsewhere now.
I have had the opportunity to work with several of the coaches at the Toronto School of Circus Arts on and off over the past 5 years and can honestly say that they have the best coaches I have come across. Each time I have worked with them, I have always found myself challenged on a physical level and mental level. Their studio is by for the best in the Toronto area, but what sets them apart from all of the other companies (that I have worked with) is how much the coaches care about their students. I would definitely give them a serious consideration before deciding to look at other options. Safety is always at the top of their agenda and they coach in a way that challenges you physically while still keeping you safe. Highly recommended.
Firstly, I signed up my 12 year old boy for a 2018 summer youth trapeze class and it was almost entirely adults. Then, in the 5th class the main instructor (the owner of the gym) spoke to my son very rudely during the class for a mistake he made. This was my son's first session at the school. The instructor asked to speak to me after the class. During that time he almost entirely directed the conversation towards my 12 year old. Telling him that he was not progressing the way that he should, that he wasn't sure he should return to the class, and that if he doesn't start to listen better and improve he would not be allowed back for the next session. I was in shock and almost left speechless at the time. Granted my son did make a mistake (without incident), he understood and did the skill with ease on his next turn. There was no reason for the instructor to speak to him in this manner twice. My son wanted to return for the remainder of the sessions but I decided it was best not too. It was not a good learning environment. I truely believe the owner has no interest in teaching youth!
AMAZING! I was terrified and hesitant to go but had the time of my life. Everyone there is so kind, talented and treats you so incredibly well. I'm definitely going back!!!!
I’ve learned so much from this amazing team of talented individuals! Highly recommend if you want to be challenged, have fun, and grow in ways you may have not thought possible.
Great teacher, great facility, great atmosphere.
Decker and his team instilled a love of aerial for my friends and me over many years! They gave knowledgeable experience and can help along your aerial journey! They can help all skill levels and are great assets to have as you hike your skills!
I have had the opportunity to work with three of their staff on multiple occasions and I cannot speak highly enough towards the professionalism and knowledge they all hold. They all have their individual ways of teaching and they have truly make you want to learn and grow. I look forward to the day I can return to work with them!
Spent last Friday night here at the Toronto Circus doing flying trapeze, and had the absolute best time. The facility is incredible, clean and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable - Highly recommend doing this on date night. what a blast. Keep up the good work.
Classes are good the customer service is bad and some teachers are grumpy
The Friday night drop-in trapeze was an ABSOLUTE BLAST! Incredible instruction and such a positive atmosphere. Will definitely be going again with some friends for a great night!
I came here for my birthday when I turned nine, got screamed at by one of the staff for accidentally knocking a small plastic magnet off the wall. I tried not to cry but she made me feel like I had just burned the building down.
Decker and the team are amazing. Their knowledge is unmatchable and will always be mine and my friends first choice. Any apparatus, any time. You will not be regret it!!!
