I am struggling to understand the negative comments about this school. My family has been blessed to have been part of the SES school community for 10 years. My youngest daughter transferred to this school in grade 2 and was welcomed with open arms. She instantly made friends and felt cared for by her teachers and the staff. She is very anxious and finds school hard. The staff has excellent parent communication through emails, texting and phone calls to support our daughter to be successful. The teachers go out of their way to model the teachings of Jesus through their words and their actions towards students, and this is apparent the minute you walk into the school. Each and every student is honored throughout the year in their bucket-filler assemblies for the unique gifts they bring to a school. The Principals and school secretaries know every student by name and have always been welcoming and friendly. I have always been greeted with a smile by every staff member at SES. Even though my youngest is in Grade 5 and this is our last year at Seton, we recognize the importance of fundraising for a new playground. We are proud to be helping leave this legacy for the future students of SES. I would highly recommend this school to anyone...you would be lucky to be part of the Seton Family.
Seton is such a wonderful school. Our two children began attending St. Elizabeth school three years ago and we have had nothing but positive experiences. The teachers show such kindness and love for every child. They are very approachable and welcoming. A friendly face and smile is always there to welcome us each and every day. Our children look forward to attending school each day. We feel Seton is a true family and a wonderful example of how Christians are. They take the Catholic faith and infuse it into daily activities. We are so pleased with all their celebrations, visits from Fr. Tom, participation in social justice projects, delivering Christmas Cards in the neighbourhood, the Giving Tree, Bucket Filler assemblies, book tasting in the learning commons, family picnic and winter walk day, family movie and Rebels night and so much more. They make school a safe and enjoyable place for students to come to daily to learn. Thanks you for all you do Seton staff. God Bless.
My daughter attends Seton and she loves each day growing in faith and learning. Beautiful school with amazing teachers and staff!
Great school! The staff here are extremely nice and treat students very well!
Our daughter absolutely loves it here! Great school!
We have had kids in this school for the past 6 years and we highly recommend it! There are a couple of brutal reviews on Google that must have an axe to grind (that’s the only rational I have for the two poor comments I just read). It should not sway your mind about this school. I have been in that office many times and have only experienced the most helpful people looking to help kids. I can’t say enough about the quality of people and education you will find here. When my kids needed support they got it. Their homeroom teacher, counsellor and the principal / VP are all there to help (and they do help!!). They want nothing but the best for my kids and that is exactly how it should be! Seton is the best school in Red Deer for my kids and I would change nothing about it. Thanks to the Seton Staff for all you do for my kids!
I am shocked to read these negative reviews. All of it sounds completely untrue and definitely NOT like any experience we have had as a family!! Both of my children have had wonderful, caring and compassionate teachers at St. Elizabeth Seton School. The atmosphere of the entire school community is one that models kindness, respect, empathy and love. It is an amazing school with fantastic teachers. Any interaction I have had with the principal or the Admin assistants has been positive. They are friendly, always smiling, saying hello and greeting students. Anytime I phone or stop by the school to talk about something I have never had any issues, in fact it seems like they drop everything to hear what I have to say. This school is one of the best I have ever seen, my kids are SO happy here!! Every staff member and students cares for each other and the principal ensures that this feeling of love and safety is one that is at the forefront. I really can't believe any of what this review has to say!
It is with incredible honor and gratitude to rate SES school a five star! Both our children attended SES, and gained a wealth of knowledge and compassion. This school promotes kindness, fairness and an environment totally conducive to learning, as modelled by all staff. All support from parents is immensely appreciated. Having sat on Parent Council, I know how expensive it is to facilitate field trips, musical productions, and learning tools within all classrooms. We highly recommend SES, as they cater to all individual needs, and children will thrive at this school.
Great school! Its very clear that your children are in caring hands and the school is always striving for the best environment for the kids. I would highly recommend this school to anyone!
St. Elizabeth Seton is an awesome school!! The teachers, admin staff and support staff treat everyone like family. I had a child that was bullied here (by 2 students who are not “white” so it’s not just colored individuals being bullied, they are bullies as well), and the support that I received was outstanding and immediate. They are inclusive of all, catholic and non catholic and though faith is the base, high quality education is their focus. In the last year, it was imperative that the school expand via portables and so the old playground structure had to be torn down according to the city, leaving only 1 playground structure left for an entire community of children to play on (the other structure, the city discourages the school to use). But in doing so, the city did not provide money or funding for a new playground. That is the sole responsibility of a volunteer parent group. So has there been a lot of fundraising this year? heck yeah. But it will all be done this school year. Is it for the benefit of our kids and community. Heck yeah. Nothing to do with teachers taking sunny vacations. That is pure ignorance...
Our kids have been attending SES for three years now and will continue to do so until they graduate to middle school. We have been very blessed throughout our kids' elementary school years by the staff and teachers at SES pouring into our kids both academically and spiritually. I was shocked to find a negative review on google, and normally don't take the time to review things to be honest, but those need to be corrected. The staff and admin at Seton are kind and caring people, we've never been demanded money from, and our entire experience overall has always been extremely positive. Seton is a fantastic school.
Money Hungry school! No matter how much you give them it is never enough. They are more focused on coming up with "schemes" all year long to get your money than teaching your kids in the classrooms. $25,000 + they collected this October is not enough for them on top of the funding they get from the government! No wonder the teachers choose expensive sun destinations to go to in the name of PD as if Canada does not offer any PD courses during the winter months. See the image. Although they list the events they collect these funds for; when it is time for the event to occur they make you pay extra. e.g., for the Halloween Dance already listed as covered by this fundraiser; they made each family pay an extra $5 to attend the dance. Same goes for the Giving Tree. The families are asked to bring christmas gifts instead of providing the gifts using the fundraiser money. And what Field Trips? My child's class hasn't been to a single field trip this whole term. Someone needs to AUDIT this school and the school should provide parents and families a breakdown of how they spend the Fundraiser money each year. The only time the school would like the parents to be "involved" is when they are sending your kids and parents door to door to collect money for them, selling things to kids in the school, etc. but ask them about what your kid is being taught in the classroom and you will not get a straight answer. I have seen more paperwork come home about send money for what they are selling at school this week or this month than what the kids actually learned in the classroom. Some of the new teachers this school has hired can easily be replaced by turnips from a grocery store. Be aware though the turnips might have a higher IQ!! If you are serious about your kids education do not send them to this manipulative school. For the amount of money they steal from you, you can send your kids to a decent private school.
I gone to that school and it was not good to me because it isn’t a good school.
