It’s 7 months later, since venturing back to the Endeavour Centre to continue my passion of building a home, with minimal earthly impact. My experience with the Endeavour Centre is beyond words, a welcome dish of INSPIRATION, CONFIDENCE and VOLUME OF KNOWLEDGE. This is a lifetime relationship...oneLove always

I attended the Design Your Own Sustainable Home workshop and found it to be very enlightening. Chris is a patient, gifted teacher able to distill vast amounts of information into digestible pieces. His criteria based approach is a brilliant yet simple way to move toward a design solution that meets my unique needs and preferences. He openly shares the most important information of our time: how to turn the tables on greenhouse gas emissions by not only reducing but actually fixing carbon in new homes simply through choice of materials, while at the same time keeping costs on par with conventional homes. Demystifying where to source materials or how to make home made building assemblies and finishes that he’s taken time to play with and figure out, this workshop is well worth taking the time to enjoy the so many ah-ha moments as Chris freely provides detailed information based on years (perhaps decades) of experience.

I had a fabulous weekend! I felt so accomplished, empowered, skilled - the list goes on! Jen and D are a wealth of knowledge and excellent teachers. I loved their visual teaching aids like the bowed and twisted wood examples and which fasteners go with which bits. I can't wait to take the constructions skills course next!

Amazing school, the teachers are experienced in their field as well as efficient teaching. And wonderful people to hang out with and befriend :)

I took a weekend workshop on Sustainable Home Design, and it was absolutely great. Chris Magwood helped us understand contexts about all the new information we were absorbing: costs of materials and labor and all the necessary support systems, but also considering who can maintain or fix things if they go wrong. When thinking about materials, how much carbon was released when making them? Straw for example will release a great deal of carbon if it decomposes, but as a building material, it locks it up, is really cheap, a natural humidity regulator, and when packed in bales is a fire block. Later, we looked at the house he and Jen Feigin designed and built, and it's not only stunningly beautiful, it's exceptionally energy efficient and ecologically healthy. A great educational experience!!

Love, Love, Love Chris and Jen. What enthusiastic, intelligent, clear, and thoughtful instructors. I happily consider them colleagues and mentors! I always try to attend a conference that Chris is speaking at!

I just completed the 1 month Natural Building Intensive program. I could not be more impressed with the organization, the knowledge base of the three teachers, and their passion for natural building. We plan to build our own home next year and after completing this program I feel so positive and excited that we can do it. Thank you Chris, Annie, and Dave!

Chris Magwood's workshop and book were invaluable. 2 years ago I took his weekend workshop on sustainable home building before starting my new home build. The workshop along with his book, shaped almost every decision I made to reduce the environmental impact of our new home. Energy efficiency, carbon capture material choices, end of life considerations, along with other general building techniques, were all covered, many of which we incorporated into our build. The design/ build company we chose to build our home even adopted some of the more environmentally responsible materials for all their new builds in the future. Chris is the real deal and not someone just trying to get on the green building band wagon.

My husband and I attended the "Build your Own Sustainable House" workshop and highly recommend it. Chris is an engaging and knowledgeable leader who educates and inspires. We left the workshop knowing that this is a completely practical and possible project for our retirement!

Knowledgeable educators doing cutting-edge research and building work to back up their courses. Endeavour Centre is an invaluable resource for building professionals, policy makers and individuals. For an affordable price, the 1-hour Hempcrete webinar packed in essential information to get me going on my project with Q and A after!

Loved the Carpentry for Women workshop. Fantastic instruction and lots of opportunity for hands on experience using a large variety of tools and saws. It really helped to build up my confidence in using certain tools that I had always been nervous around.

Gillian Lake

I attended the Carpentry for Women workshop and this workshop really provided me with the skills for a beginner to start on any small project. I feel comfortable with tools that I was afraid of prior and I have the knowledge of what to look for when buying tools of my own. Being an all women’s workshop made it an inviting experience and I would and have recommend this school to my friends and colleagues. Thanks again Jen and D for such an awesome experience!

Attended the sustainable homebuilding workshop this year in February and absolutely loved it. Chris Magwoods insight and building experience is an invaluable resource for those interested in building a healthier, more sustainable home. Highly recommend this course, and cant wait to apply what I've learned to my own home!
