I've gotten complaints from Public School for years about about my youngest's slow speed at completing work, lack of effort or slow speed in which he gets dressed to go out in the winter. A couple months into grade 2, I had enough after a huge breakdown because he hates school so much (and he was in one of the good ones!). I did a trial week at Keystone and it was like living with a different kid. He was happy to go to school and came home in a good mood instead of defeated. His reading skills have gone from a struggle to reading novels on his own in a matter of MONTHS (Literally October to December). His writing went from illegible to better than my adult employee's. The report card that went home not only specified every single thing they have been doing this year, but said how they would work with the child on bettering any skills that needed work instead of just mentioning that they were poor at something. This school works WITH the kids and families and teaches useable skills. Hearing my newly 7 year old tell me all about Greek Gods and atoms and watching him go off to read on his own has been so incredibly satisfying. I only wish I had gotten them in to Montessori sooner.

This school is not an accredited Montessori school. The JK-grade 1 teachers were amazing. My child started in the upper classroom grade2-8 this year. The principal Adam Hewitt has taken an authoritarian stance and covid measures without consulting parents. The latest changes arrived via email on a Friday afternoon, on the Monday morning I informed him that due to the new rules we would be withdrawing from school. We had paid tuition up front, and he informed me that we would not receive a refund because we didn't give a 30days notice.
