My experience at Ontario Virtual School was excellent. I took the MHF4U course and I was pleased with it, especially since this was my first time taking a course in private school. The lessons were easy to follow just like how it would be in a regular school setting. The teachers were thorough in explaining and addressing any concerns I had. I studied ENG 4U through OVS and had an excellent experience. The teachers on OVS are really kind and understanding of their students' difficulties and are more than willing to accommodate them. In my case, Ms. McDonnell was generous enough to extend the deadlines for assignments that I failed to submit on time. Despite myself being at fault, she accommodated and supported my learning efforts regardless. Additionally, she always responded to my emails within a day which was a pleasant surprise. Lastly, the assessments were all reasonable in their difficulty with no unexpected surprises. If you study adequately for the assessments you will certainly do well on them! Learning English through OVS was a great experience which I would recommend to anyone looking for an alternative to the traditional day school route.

I recently completed the Grade 12 Physics (SPH4U) course with Ontario Virtual School and I was very pleased with the course overall. Even though the course material was difficult, the concepts presented in the lessons were well explained and I was able to develop a solid understanding of the material. My teacher, Mr. Sawinski, was always responsive to my emails and graded my assignments and tests very quickly (within a day or two). There were also no hidden fees of any kind. With all that in mind, I would absolutely recommend taking a course through OVS.

I decided to take this course through a friend's recommendation, who told me that it was a great experience. Despite that, I was still a bit unsure but decided to take a leap of faith and purchase the course. It was an amazing decision because this was the best way for me to achieve a high mark and thorough understanding of the course content. There were no hidden fees whatsoever, and once you paid the initial amount for the course, that was it. I'm a senior in high school and took MHF4U and it was a great experience. The lessons were easy to follow along and understand, and the workload was a breeze as well, considering how exceptional the teaching was. The Unit Tests were also very simple to follow along, especially with the phenomenal lessons and organization. I was also pleasantly surprised with the response time through emails, as it was very fast, with teachers and administrators. I also received my report cards very quickly, after submitting my request through the site. Plus, when I received marked work back, it was easy to follow along and helpful to see what I needed to work on. Overall, this was an absolutely awesome experience and i'd definitely recommend that anyone who is on the fence about taking an online course should for sure do it with OVS!

MCR3U Lizna Momin I was very unsure of taking up an online course, especially with a Canadian website as i'm originally not from there. But i would like to state it directly that OVS has been the most amazing platform as it helped me complete a course with so much ease and comfort. The teacher was very encouraging and responded to my questions very quickly. I'm glad to have Miss Samantha ONeil as my teacher. The assignments and tests were pretty good and prepared me for the final exam. If i could give more than 5 stars i would have given with no doubt. So i totally recommend everyone to take up a course via Ontario Virtual school.

My experience at OVS was amazing. I was in Advanced Functions MHF4U and had Mr. Bates as my teacher. I found the lessons to be of high quality and they were nicely done in my opinion. The assessments were great as well, I found them to be of a high standard and very good for independent work and not to mention my teacher was always quick to respond to any questions I had and to notify me of my work. On the administrative side of things, they were pretty quick to get me sorted and helped when I had any questions.

I had a really great experience, it was great that I could do the work on my own pace which worked well as I was also doing in person classes, plus the fact that you could take the class anytime during the year is a bonus. The lessons were super clear and the teacher gave great feedback whenever I needed help. Studying in OVS was a complete pleasure. I studied SCH4U-03 chemistry course and everythinh was great. My teacher was Tyler Wiebe, he always responded to my emails as quickly as possible and his explanations when I had doubts about some topic were really understandable; he is a terrific teacher. The course assesments were challenging but exciting, it was helpful in demosntrating my understanding of the unit with different types of questions. I had my doubts about the online learning but after this amazing experience I am satisfied with the online learning methodology; I would definitely recommend this online school to my friends.

I took grade 12 Calculus and Vectors with OVS. Loved being able to manage my course at my own pace. The lesson quality was sooooo much better than you would expect for an online course. I honestly preferred this course to many courses I have taken in-person. The teacher was extremely kind, professional and understanding. My teacher would mark things within the hour I sent them to her which is incredible and was super helpful! My teacher also responded to emails super quickly so it was really easy to ask questions. My experience with Ontario Virtual School was amazing! I was in HSP3U Grade 11 Intro To Anthropology, Psychology & Sociology and had Ms. Milano as my teacher! It was my first time taking a fully asynchronous course, but the lesson videos and teacher office hours made it an extremely successful experience! Ms. Milano was always ready to answer any concerns and walk you through any problems you were having with the course in a clear and concise manner. While the course was completely asynchronous, the content was up-to-date and well-organized, ensuring that students will succeed! Being able to access my teacher for questions, clarification and feedback very easily with fast replies has helped greatly throughout the completion of the course especially since the pandemic started! A variety of assessments were given to not only ensure that knowledge is learned but also to allow students to think outside of the box and conduct further research. Ms. Milano will definitely surprise you with how fast and in-depth she replies to your questions. She had ensured that one understood the materials clearly prior to assessment. The Ontario Virtual School's administration was likewise outstanding. They went above and beyond to ensure that their students had the best possible experience and outcomes. Overall, my experience with Ontario Virtual School was fantastic and I will definitely be recommending this school to everyone! Took a couple of courses here to finish highschool and was amazed at how thorough each course was. Usually in day-school you don't have the time to cover absolutely everything, leaving you with a decent understanding of each unit. However, with OVS I was left with an impressive understanding of the concepts, far greater than I would usually accomplish at my day school. The teachers are also very helpful, and respond to questions quickly. Overall, a great experience, would recommend to anyone needing to catch up, get ahead, or experience online school.

I took SPH4U with Ontario Virtual School and I would highly recommend it. My teacher was Ms. Vanderkamp and she was amazing. She marked very fast, replied to any questions I had with lots of clarification and gave me valuable feedback on how to improve. Moreover, the way the course was structured made it easy to navigate and work through. I especially enjoyed watching the video lessons as they worked through all the different types of problems I could see on a test or exam and made them much easier to understand. Quality of the lessons/learning materials: Lessons were straight forward to the point and organized in an excellent manner that made it easy to understand. Furthermore the variety of assessments help me explore concepts in advanced functions more thoroughly. such as the labs involving polynomial functions. Admin was quick to upload my marks to ouac, they say to allow 24-48 hours but both times marks were up within 3-4 hours of requesting. Miss. Pooja always returned my work on time, and would reply to be emails in an appropriate time frame.

I wanted to complete a course during my spare time, and was honestly a bit wary of doing online school - but OVS proved me wrong. I was first looking for courses that weren't offered at my school, and honestly had a hard time choosing because there were so many great options. I took Challenge and Change in Society, HSB4U, and the quality of the lessons and learning materials was the same as what you would expect from a regular, in-person class, covering all the content I expected to learn. The variety of assessments was wonderful - writing campaigns, essays, presentations, tests, and more helped motivate me and interest me in the content. The flexibility with timelines was so helpful, as I set my own schedule and was not stressed out when it came to due dates - I was never be behind. There were absolutely no hidden fees, admin support and report card processing was HIGHLY efficient , email response from my great teacher Mr. Crestani was quick and extremely helpful, and the returning of marked work efficient & constructive. Overall, I would definitely recommend doing OVS to anyone who is looking for a flexible, efficient and great learning experience.

This school is definitely better than normal school. Actually, I do not want to come back to normal school : I want to stay OVS more. It is because teachers are so kind and I can take classes whenever I want to. Normal school sometimes have biases by teachers, but OVS teachers see us equally. Therefore, I will give them 4 stars. Overall my experience was great. There was plenty of time to finish tests and assignments. There were videos and interactive bits that helped. I loved doing the video assignment cause I was able to be creative and have fun with it. It’s really great for independent learners, and for those who are not I’m pretty sure there is a way to video with your teacher. My teacher was always fast with marking and responding to emails (within a day or two), and provided me with separate articles to help me learn more. Some issues where that instructions for assignments where a little vague. I had some trouble understanding exactly what my teacher was looking for, but I just emailed her for clarification and still got a good mark. Problem solved. The loading was also very slow but that was probably just my wifi. No hidden fees. Very organized. Lots of time (I finished my class in a month).

The layout of their website is also very easy to configure and it maintained where I left off at each slide, if I ever needed to go somewhere in a hurry.

I am not really the best at using my time productively at times, because sometimes I procrastinate, however this course taught me a lot such as using my time productively.

OVS is a wonderful school, totally better than many others I've attended. I'm enrolled in nine courses and every single one has an excellent teacher that replies quickly, and gets my marks back to me in a timely manner. For example, I just finished my philosophy course, and my teacher, Mr. Ford, always got back to me with my marks incredibly fast, replied to my questions quickly and always made sure everything made sense for me. OVS is a super good school, with interesting courses and great teachers. I graduate this year, and I'm pretty happy to be graduating from OVS.

I had a great experience with OVS. I took ENG4U (English academic 12th grade). This course was fairly easy but also had it's challenging aspects. I had Mr.Murphy as my teacher and I have nothing but good things to say. Mr.Murphy was very helpful and explained well. He replied very quickly to my emails when I had question. In general, the OVS team was very helpful. The website is also very user friendly and easy to navigate. 10/10 would recommend.

Taking a course with OVS was definitely an interesting experience. I chose to do a course in Grade 12 Photography and was pleasantly surprised. I did not expect the course to be as in depth as it was, while still giving ample opportunity for enjoyable assignments. I was really able to put what I learnt to the test without feeling stressed and overwhelmed, and the teacher's support further fortified that. Definitely a worthwhile investment and experience.

I really enjoyed the structure of the course I took. It was ENG4U and my teacher was Mr. Ford. He was very quick in marking and replying back if I needed any help. The lessons were very straight forward and there were no hidden fees which made this course a breeze to get through. When I went to apply to a post-graduate college program and realized I didn't have the grade 12 chemistry prerequisite, a friend of mine recommended taking the course through OVS. I'm really glad I followed that advice. The lessons were clear and concise, the tests were challenging but never unreasonable, and the videos included in the lessons often got a good laugh out of me. My one criticism is there were occasional errors in the lesson slides and worksheets, but as long as you watched for it they were pretty easy to spot. I completed this course in 2 months. Thank you OVS for helping me earn my prerequisite.

Really liked taking two courses with OVS. I paid what i think was a reasonable price for a course under the curriculum that i could use to gain a highschool credit. Extensions for the course were easy to access and pay for once plain and simple, no hidden fees. Did lots of interesting projects and assessments, investigative projects, response to videos and other quizes and tests. If i ever was having difficulty i could quickly email admin or a teacher who could connect me to admin and the question or issue would be answered/resolved withing a couple days. Things get marked within a couple days and i never have to wait for feedback. So far, great courses!

I have done various courses here such as math, english, and business, and the overall setup of the powerpoint lessons was helpful and organized. Regarding the course work, it was somewhat hefty, and I had to spend quite a bit of time on each assignment which was stressing. With the teachers and admin they generally replied to my emails within a day and I felt like I had support available. Though, I found some teachers to be abrupt and rude in some email responses. Moreover, there were some mistakes with the questions on some math tests, making it a bit of an issue, as they should have been corrected by the teacher upon realization. Though my experience was good overall.

I took MDM4U1 at OVS, overall I would say I had an great experience. This was my first time taking a online course and I was worried that I might not be able to adapt to the course as well enough. However, that was simply not the case. The course was laid out just like in regular school and the lesson were very informative and detailed. My experience taking online courses with OVS was phenomenal! I took grade 12 Advanced Functions MHF4U and my teacher was Mr. Currie. He was extremely quick with responding to any of my questions and marking my tests, discussion posts and lab simulations. The corrections were always sent to me within 24h, even on the weekends! The course lessons were easy to follow and were delivered in an organized fashion. Doing the course at my own pace allowed me to achieve unmatched success. It was my first experience taking an online course. It was wonderful! I really loved it! The teacher I had helped me understand the concepts whenever I did not understand. As well, she even responded to my emails very quickly and even during the weekends! Prior to unit tests being submit, my teacher marked them within 24 hours. I took the ENG4C and completed it about two weeks ago. I was worried at very first as I had never experienced taking classes anywhere else beside my country, but every time I had questions the teacher responded me very quickly which helped me a lot since the time differences can be really annoying as I am an international learner. Also there were few moments I struggled with some assignments and was not sure if I was doing alright in the course but the teacher encouraged me and that definitely pushed me keep going. OVS made my dream of studying in a Canadian school achievable with satisfactory online services. Although I was taken aback by the extra fees I had to pay as an international student with no Canadian study visa, it was understandable and the quality of the lessons sufficed. The explanation of BDI3C-03 lessons were clear and easy to understand even though there were complex business terms used. The assessments were enjoyable to do and I found myself learn something new every time I completed one. The teacher replied within 24 hours and the response was useful to what I asked. The support team were encouraging and the teacher was even more encouraged and positively pushed me to complete the assignments at hand. Ontario Virtual School was worthy of taking private online school for! I got a 93% by the end and I have learnt a LOT through the tutorials and experiences on the projects/assignments. The teachers always give a constructive criticism feedback and tell you in what ways to improve for better. If you ever have Mr. Lakhani or Mr. Murphy as your teacher, without a doubt you'll have a great learning experience and be successful by the end of the course!!! :) Not to mention, I got into the university I wanted!

Throughout my time with Ontario Virtual School, I can safely say I learned a lot, and enjoyed completing the course work compared to my English experience at all my four years of high school. I am also very grateful to how committed my teacher, Ms. Donnell was in ensuring my success. The one issue that I had is how we were only allowed to submit a single draft to the teacher, while this seems alright for other assignments it can be especially challenging if it were a essay as some of my family members who aren't well versed with the English curriculum. Other than that I enjoyed the material learned, and I can safely say that I can replicate what I learned in the course towards post-secondary. Completed a grade 12 advanced functions course and overall, I had a really smooth experience with straight forward explanations on each and every topic! I really enjoyed the visual presentations through pictures and animations to showcase visually what is going on instead of primarily using words to explain. The teacher was very nice and open to my messages, being exceptionally reliable. A suggestion I would give to OVS is to constantly update the ebook and workbook as there were some errors in the solutions, as well as keep a separate PDF for all the solutions instead of having to jump back to multiple solutions at a time. Other than that, I recommend OVS to anyone who prefers online schooling as oppose in-person class.

I had a phenomenal experience at Ontario Virtual School! I was enrolled in a grade 12 business leadership (BOH4M). From the content to the assigned assignments, I was able to understand the fundamentals of leadership while also being able to put those principles into effect in the real world. There were no hidden costs or questionable practices; payment was addressed effectively. Ms. Polsinelli was an outstanding teacher who always answered within 24 hours to any inquiries or concerns. She was incredibly understanding and willing to assist in any way she could. In addition, admin assistance was extremely dependable, to the point where I received my report card in less than 48 hours. However, I took the Indigenous Studies course by Alicia Cuzner and the way the whole course was layed out was extremely intuitive. It was really easy to follow along and understand the way the course was supposed to be taken. I loved how organized each unit and the corresponding classes were. The tests were similar to other high school courses I had taken, multiple choice, short answer and long answer. Taking the tests and uploading them was easy to understand and navigate as well.

OVS is an amazing online school! I recently finished grade 12 Earth and Space science taught by Ms Cuzner and it was one of the most interesting classes I’ve taken in my four years of high school. The website format is straightforward and easy to use. The teachers are knowledgable, helpful, and respond to emails promptly, and also provide feedback for tests and assignments. The school allowed me to complete the course at my own pace which I found really beneficial given my busy schedule. The lessons were challenging but interesting and informative. My teacher also added activities and videos to keep the class engaging. There was a good variety in the assignments and tests (it was not all endless essays and multiple choice which I appreciated) Midterms and final report cards were processed to my OUAC account within a few days and was easy to send to my high school.

There were lots of videos and practice questions to solidify all the new content. My instructor - Ms. Vanderkamp - responded really quickly to any questions that I had, and helped point out where my understanding may have been at fault. Tests and labs were marked and returned very quickly as well, which was really nice as it helped me move quickly through the course. The questions in the tests included multiple choice, short answer, and some (challenging but fun) critical thinking questions. Enrolling at OVS as a full time grade 12 student was the best decision I could have made. I was skeptical before as I thought I would not be able to communicate with my teachers very well compared to face to face communication, however, I was proved wrong. All my teachers made me feel comfortable enough to ask any questions that I had and responded to me quicker than I thought they would. They were all very thorough and kind when explaining the concepts to me and were very patient with me. However, my ENG4U teacher, Ms. McDonnell, has truly been one of the greatest teachers I have met throughout my high school years. Her support has been incredible and she has helped me gain the confidence I needed in my writing more than anyone. Ms McDonnell has always instantly replied to my emails and has been patient with me even when she had to explain one concept multiple times. Emily Godfrey MCR3U-04 I started MCR3U at my home school, but with coronavirus and various personal issues I ended up dropping it and starting to take it on OVS. My teacher was incredibly helpful and always responded to my emails in an impressively short amount of time. The overall experience was amazing. I loved being able to work at my own pace and even though the lack of deadlines let me procrastinate, it also allowed me to finish half the course in less than three weeks. In the end I really enjoyed the whole experiences; tests are easy to organize and understand, no getting told off for not getting what a teacher means in the wording of a question, and most importantly no trouble with finding the information I needed for review and tests. I had taken MCV4U - Calculus and Vectors at Ontario Virtual School in order to meet required prerequisite for colleges and universities I wanted to apply to. OVS has many classes available for students to take, and mine in particular was excellent. The course lessons were easy to follow along with and take notes on. One thing that is very helpful about taking courses with OVS was that registration was quick and easy and I was able to take my time learning at my own pace. I had never done an online course but with the pandemic and the accelerated nature of public courses due to COVID-19 the "at your own pace" method of OVS was perfect! The material and the teaching of the material were concise but informative. I also found that my teacher (Ms.Altenhof) always answered my questions very quickly and thoroughly. Furthermore she graded my tests and assignments very quickly. The fee that you see when registering is the only fee that there is. At the end of my course my report card was processed extremely fast and was submitted the day after I requested it. I was initially skeptical of online learning, especially after not being in high school for so long. However I was pleasantly surprised by how well the course delivered its content as I felt the combination of slides, recordings, quizzes, and embedded videos really kept me engaged. The only shortcoming personally was the assigned readings that followed the lessons as I felt it was relatively easy to get distracted in a home environment. I do however believe this is less the fault of the course and more of a personal issue for myself. The quality of the labs and tests were definitely well thought out and I had no issues with them. I'd also like to thank my instructor for being a very helpful during this course, being there to help and answer my questions and even going as far as to let me have the opportunity to redo a lab I had botched.

Lessons were fine, you're able to draw on the slides so that was a cool feature. My teacher took at least 3 days to respond to an email. No hidden fees. Tests had a bunch of mistakes on them that make it impossible to solve, same with homework. The admins are fast with emails, and usually teachers mark tests quickly. If you're considering taking a heavy load course like calculus I wouldn't recommend, but if you want to take a course like gender studies I would assume that its fine.

I took my grade 11 anthropology course with this school from 2019-2020 during covid. I liked that the teachers would go and reach out to offer support, however that became inconsistent later in the course. I had an issue with how the course was structured, as I had to complete an ISU outline for my final summative at the beginning of the course, when I had little to no information about anthropology, sociology and/or psychology. Despite this, I did well in the course and I would recommend using OVS to a friend, especially during these times, as it was for the most part, a great way to get a course done.

Though Ontario Virtual School is an online school it is very well structured. The school itself has lots of different courses for kids from 9-12. I did a grade 12 International Business course and I really enjoyed it. I found the course material to be engaging, with lots of different techniques to help me learn the material such as slideshows, videos, and textbook reading. There were also lots of assessments in different formats that were really fun and interesting. There were assignments that were quite different from each other and they really made me use my resources, for we needed to make a crossword for the unit and in another one we tracked a cargo ship. There were also some forum questions in which you would answer a specific question and then chat with your peers about the different responses making it feel like a real school. There was great communication between the teacher and I. I had some technical difficulties when trying to submit some of my assignments but the teacher was very understanding and helped me with a work around. Overall I would definitely recommend this course and the school to anyone who wishes to further their education.

I was missing Grade 11 Chemistry (SCH3U) for college applications and was referred to OVS as an option to fulfill this requirement. Flexibility and time-allowance of a year were the best parts of this course. These aspects allowed me to keep up with my day-school responsibilities, while knowing that I could get back to the OVS course when my school assignments were finished. Majority of the course was done during my summer break and so I was able to give it the time and effort required in order to complete and give it my best. The online lessons were well structured and had ample supported explanations. The homework/extra practice given at the end of most lessons was manageable and related well to the units. There were no hidden fees. For the Unit 2 test, I felt it was more challenging than the Unit 2 lessons, however, for the rest of the lessons the tests were a fair representation of their respective units. Additionally, the practice test for the final exam was more challenging than the actual exam, which in-effect prepared me well for the actual final exam. Admin support was phenomenal as they would respond very quickly, keeping in the time difference. My teacher, Ms. Aparajita Moulick, was great with responding to my emails and answered any questions that I had. She also gave constructive feedback on my labs and tests that helped me improve as the course progressed. Since this was a self-study online course, it was important to be organized, stay on task, meet deadlines and most of all be self-motivated. I am delighted that such opportunities are available for students, to help them fulfill missing requirements should they need to. Thank you OVS!

Everything from the requirements to be eligible for an interim grade, to the process in which courses were taught were clearly laid out. I was only asked to pay for the initial course price. I took SCH4C (college level chemistry) at the Ontario Virtual School with Mr. Farhez Lakhani in order to achieve the credit and apply to a College program at Fleming. The course was put together very well, and the content was fairly easy to follow. If you follow the lessons and complete most of the homework for practice, it's not hard to achieve a high mark. I also only had a couple months to do this course before the college application window closed, and the quick marking and layout of the course made this possible. There aren't any deadlines, so it's pretty easy going as you work through the course. Overall, I would definitely recommend the OVS to others!

It was very easy to register for the course online, and you are able to start the course within a week after you’ve registered! There were no extra fees after registering. I was very hesitant signing up here, after all it was my last year of school and I was switching curriculums, but OVS truly made my experience better. Studying at OVS is so flexible. I took SPH3U (grade 11 physics) there and I had a time limit so I did half of the course in one week and the other half in another week. Lessons are taught in a way that is easy to understand and there were a variety of resources that I used to practice. Also, there were a lot of videos in each lesson which helped me a lot to understand the topic better. My teacher was so great at responding to my emails and returning my marks. I always received my marks in less than two days after I took the test. I submitted all of my assignments together (there were 5 assignments) and she marked all of them in just two days. My report card was also processed in less than one day. I highly recommend it!

This summer I took International Business (gr 12) at OVS! I found the online portal/platform easy to use, It was great because there were both visuals and audio included in the lessons. The assignments were enjoyable because they were different every time, assignments ranged from tracking a shipping boat to a timeline of the Hudson's Bay Company. I had a very good experience with OVS (Ontario Virtual School). The full cost of the course was in full up front, the tests had multiple question formats (multiple choice, short answer) and I was mailed a physical copy and emailed a digital copy of my report card within a week of completion. My teacher Mr. Vic Beaumont was very prompt in responding to emails typically within 24 hours and within 48 hours for marking tests and assignments, even on weekends at times! The only issue I had was that once or twice during the lessons, certain references to the text book (which was provided in e-book format) were inaccurate (wrong page/unit #). Typically I was able to just open the file and search for what I was looking for and was able to figure out where the referenced material was supposed to be. Other than that, it was a great experience and being able to work at your own pace was very beneficial this summer! I would definitely recommend OVS to anyone who would want to take a course online but is not sold on e-learning!

So I was enrolled in 2 courses in Ovs - MHF4U and SPH4U. My overall experience with Ovs was pretty good and both of my teachers Ms. Sridhar and Ms. Garcia were very supportive even though I once uploaded an unsolved physics assignment and made a lexical error in the Communication section of MHF4U. Though I think there could be some improvement with the course videos as I think they're a bit boring and require a lot of discipline from the student to go through all of them.

Ontario Virtual School is a great online school to take if you're rushing for graduation or trying to find credits for your college application. I took ENG3U-04 (English Grade 11) and my experience was quite interesting. What's great about it is that you'll have a teacher that would reply to you anytime and you can also look back at your lessons whenever. Plus, you can obtain the credit anytime as long as you finish the course. However, it would be better if we could communicate with our classmates outside the formal discussion forums and also use google docs, but those minor preferences are not important if your goal is to collect as many credits as you can. Everything is worth the effort.

I was skeptical at first about how effective an online course would be without the "learning environment", but it's really as effective as you make it out to be. The course I took was SPH4C - Grade 12 Physics. All the resources are readily available, I've only had experience with one course but the professor was very prompt and courteous when responding to any questions I had. As for the whole environment issue, I realized it was fine as long as I gave myself adequate space and removed any distractions. I'm not sure if this is the case with all the programs/courses they offer, but I was given plenty of time (365 days) to finish the course I registered for, so they give you the flexibility to work at your own pace. I would say it's definitely a great substitute to physical schooling during the pandemic

I was very scared at first taking the MHF4U course as an international student with a 13 hour time gap from where I was and Ontario. However, it was a great opportunity for me to learn. I'll admit that I even had more motivation to study and learned more from this self-paced school compared to my physical classes. I could help my friends from my main school because OVS helped me learn more. The only issue I had was that the teacher handling me could not really answer any questions I had as this was not her area of expertise, so I wonder why she was the one assigned to me. I ended up getting a tutor to help me with the lesson and I would have preferred not to have one but it was unavoidable. However, she was very kind and replied to my emails as soon as possible. There is no issue with time when it came to OVS.

The quality of the lessons and learning materials were great and I had no issues with them. There were absolutely NO hidden fees. What I loved the most is how fast and quickly Mr. Lewis marked and returned my assessments. He’d usually hand them back the next day. Admin support was amazing, they helped me with the scheduling of my exam and they were really nice and understanding of the situation. Also, you get 1 year to finish the whole course, but, they also give students an extra week on top of the 1 year deadline. This really helped me when I had to do my exam, I didn’t have to stress about how little time I had left to finish the course in time. Ontario Virtual School is a great option for people who want to learn online. I highly recommend it.

I took the grade 12 Calculus and Vectors course (MCV4U-06) through Ontario Virtual School. I would 100% recommend taking courses with them because of how amazing the experience was. I took the course during the summertime and was able to work at my own pace. This also allowed me to work ahead or take more time on lessons I was having any difficulties with. The lessons they provided were helpful since they included both lecture style as well as some videos going further into depth. The teacher I had was super helpful and replied to emails right away. She also marked my tests extremely fast, which I was super impressed by! This course is definitely worth taking, whether you just need the credit or want to prepare for university/college. When taking a course like math, it's extremely important to understand how to solve the equations/problems. That's why I would recommend taking them through this school.

My teacher responded to all of my questions and marked my assignments very quickly. As well as this the layout of the course content was clear to both follow and understand. Tools like these not only helped me achieve a great mark of 95% but also helped me learn life long skills in the progress.

English The grade 12 English course-ENG4U, I took with OVS was very detailed and the syllabus covered all the needed aspect to improve your writing skills. The entire course, units and lessons were arranged very well. The course provided additional notes and practice exams resources to prepare for you to understand each unit. The videos and practice questions were very clear and easily to understand. My instructor – Mr. Ford, was very quick with any questions I asked, quick with marking of test and assignments. Especially, he provided review all the assignment he marked and this helped me to keep the transfer of knowledge from previous unit to the next unit. I enjoyed the discussion forums for each of the unit. These forums added additional knowledge and skills. I enjoyed my experience with Mr. Ford and I would highly recommend him to anyone who intend to take English. Philip Physics I completed the grade 12 physics course with Ontario Virtual School. My daughter is completing 3 of her final courses through OVS (which were not even available through TDSB). She was able to work at her own pace, her own schedule, and take tests when she was ready. More difficult topics had separate lessons in which Youtube videos were also linked, which I found really useful. My instructor was helpful and replied within a few hours. My experience here at OVS was great! I had to fill my prerequisites for my university application but couldn’t, with OVS i was able to not only complete them but because i did not have much time left with me, i was able to complete them very quickly and according to the way i wanted to. The staff and the teachers are really very helpful and sweet. Everyone responds quickly and do not keep the students waiting. Even the markings are done quickly and returned within a few days. Anyone who wants to fill in their prerequisites or wants to study at their own pace or wants do some additional course, i would suggest you do that here!

Before I signed up for Ontario Virtual School, I wasn’t really sure about the whole idea of online school. I thought it wasn’t for me because I couldn’t juggle the day school and night school, I didn’t need any more work load. I thought it’d be a colossal waste of my time, energy and obviously money. But my friend convinced (annoyed) me to sign up and I am grateful that he did. It wasn’t easy, I am not going to lie, I mean you have to remember to listen to lecture and to write test, but with the help and support of my amazing instructor/teacher Patricia Garcia, I achieved a score of a 92% and got accepted from most of the universities I applied to. I can’t thank her and this online institution enough. I would recommend Ontario Virtual School to anyone who is thinking of taking an online school. My experience with Ontario Virtual School was amazing! I was in Canadian and International Politics (CPW4U) and had Mr. Murphy as my teacher! The teaching was phenomenal as well as the course. It was my first time taking a fully asynchronous course, but the lesson videos and teacher office hours made it an extremely successful experience! Mr. Murphy was available to answer any questions and let you know where you’re at in the course during office hours, and was so helpful. Although it was asynchronous, the structure made it much more organized making sure that success is guaranteed in the course! Being able to access my teacher for questions, clarification and feedback, so easily, helped a lot especially since we weren’t in a formal classroom! The administration of the Ontario Virtual School was also amazing, and they were always there to help answer any questions about due dates, report cards, etc. They went over and above to make sure their students have the best experience and success. My instructor for MAP4C-01 was excellent. He responded to emails quickly, always ensured that I had the materials and content that I needed and graded all of my tests very fast, usually by the next day even after submitting late in the evening. Online learning requires a different mindset and can be more challenging, you can't approach it like traditional school but OVS truly cares about their students well-being and are committed to your success. They even answered concerns of mine on the weekend which you don't get with traditional education. I would definitely reccomend them to anyone needing to bump their grade for university etc. Or if they require credits.

Coming into this course I was a little nervous as I had never taken an online course like it before. Ontario Virtual School offered an amazing program. I took grade 12 advanced functions (MHF4U-05) and could not be happier with the education I received. My mom and I decided to switch to online schooling through this program and I was able to finish courses with even higher averages because the time I could study and do tests was very flexible. Absolutely wonderful experience. The course I took (SPH4U/GR12 Physics) was laid out extremely well. Lessons were very easy to understand; super straight forward and simple. My teacher was also amazing. He would always respond to my emails ASAP (even if it was outside the time window that he's designated to reply in). Marks for your tests are said to come back to you within 3 days, Monday to Friday. My teacher marked and sent back some of my tests the next day and sometimes, even on the weekends. I'd really recommend taking OVS if you need to get a course done quickly while also needing to grasp a full understanding of the course at hand.

The school website has a very organized structure where I could watch however many lessons I wanted to a day, and even go rewatch them if I was confused. The assessments were fair, however still challenged me after studying very hard. My teacher was great at responding fast to questions I had about homework or even the general course. Overall, OVS is a great school to achieve a great mark if you put in the effort!

I needed to complete MDM4U in order to get accepted into a university program I was apply to. Math is not a subject that I am comfortable with and now I was faced with needing to get the credit if I wanted to get accepted into the program I was interested in. I enrolled and had a small window to get it completed by. I spoke with professor and explained my situation and he was so helpful and turned around the marking so my grades were posted quickly. I was able to share with the university and offered admissions to the program. The course was easy to follow and so convenient to work at your pace. The professor answered all my questions in a timely manner and the admin staff was so great at getting my mid-term and final grade to the university. I took the MHF4U course with OVS. I found this course difficult to navigate with little to no help from teachers or administration. Although it is convenient to complete the course on your own time I did not find that this positive outweighed the negatives. The lessons were not well matched with the difficulty of the tests. I appreciated the responses from my teacher but this did not make up for the mistakes in the lessons and lack of direction. I had to restart the course multiple times due to having the wrong resources and the slides in the first unit have info that tells you to use the wrong textbook and there is no disclaimer saying the info is out of date which is very confusing. I am thankful for administration reaching out however, and the people are very kind.

The teachers are so respectful and friendly to their students and reply fairly quick. the lessons are so well-organized, concise, clear and easy to understand. the home-works and assignments are organized in a way that make students learn properly about the relevant lessons.
