One of the best schools I have ever had

Great resources. You may have to push to get them (or even find out about them). It went from an under-populated school in 2011/2012 to over populated in 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 (and they keep adding more students). It's busting at the seems with ongoing construction means the kids do not have sufficient playground space. I'm not sure when the construction is done that it will be big enough. Most teachers are great. The principal and vice-principal are approachable, friendly, and willing to listen.

I’ve been going to this school for six years in the gifted program, and here are my thoughts: Throughout my time here, I’ve seen many legendary teachers such as Ms. Shugg, Ms. Dunn, who is working hard to create a science fair, Mr. Yates, who works hard to run two school bands, and Mr. Horne, who was an amazing gym teacher that left in my fifth year. Despite this, when it comes to the gifted program, it has much room to improve. I feel that all of us are a bit isolated from the rest of the school. Nevertheless, there isn’t too much of a difference between the other programs and the gifted, since most of the time we are doing the regular curriculum, only sometimes doing enrichment tasks. The school as a physical substance is in decent shape, but I wish it could be cleaner, specifically the bathrooms. Around 2014, we had an extension added, becoming the intermediate wing, and renovating the floors. Pilgrim Wood also has two floors. Moving onto school culture, our school tends to focus on the arts and multiculturalism. For example, through events like concerts, arts night, multicultural night, and much more. But, I wish we could focus more on math, language, and science. After all, I still love my school and program despite its imperfections. If you plan on joining Pilgrim Wood, we welcome you with open arms. Lets go dolphins!
