We have all the feddbacks of people who buy the services and products of Stix And Stones Yarn Boutique (School) in the territory of North Bay (Canada).
To this day this firm receives a score of 4.8 stars over 5 and the score has been based on 40 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is virtually the best one, and it is founded on a very high number of feddbacks, so we can be quite sure that the assessment is quite faithful. If many people have bothered to give their opinion when they've done well, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to give evaluations when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This School belongs to the category of Knit shop.
I’m originally from North Bay and currently live in Ottawa. I never miss the opportunity to stop into this quaint little yarn shop when I’m visiting family - it’s one of my favourites, and I never leave empty handed because they have so many beautiful (and often unique) skeins to choose from! In one of my first visits, I was introduced to a new indie dyer (Feisty Fibres) and a fabulous collection of handmade knitting notions by Howling Hills Studios (both of which have become immensely popular since, I might add!) The owner clearly has a knack for spotting talented indie makers to support in her store, and the staff are always so lovely to chat with. My only complaint is that I don’t live closer! Luckily, the owner Rae offered to ship me anything I’d like if I’m ever in search of something - this store is a gem!
Beautiful wool. Excellent variety. Always new products. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Classes are really great- laid back and everyone feels welcome. Rae has done an amazing job helping to make downtown North Bay an interesting place to be. Thanks!!!
Very nice shop with a wonderful collection. I'm not a knitter myself but you can immediately see the quality & care they've put into their selection of products. Rae also does some tailoring - She did a wonderful job with two of my over-sized knit sweaters (I didn't even know they could be tailored) - they look like the day I got them, but they fit! There are also workshops (I was lucky enough to facilitate one) and weekly crafting meet-ups, and it sounds like quite the community has formed around this locally-owned shop.
Always has what I need. Great selection of yarn and natural products! Cutest dog too!
Stix and Stones, and the owner Rae, have been nothing but supportive of me, my knitting and my business. She gives her all to help crafters of all skill levels and teaches new techniques all the time. I live far away, but always stop in when I'm around town and it's like a break from the day. Great selection of indie yarns as well as higher end factory milled. Also, she's open to ordering in what you need if she doesn't have it!
Rae and her staff have been so wonderful as I started knitting again after 25+ year. The yarns are wonderful and such a colour selection! I've taken several knitting classes and each time I've felt welcome. If I have a problem I can drop in for help or advice or even just send a message. I find everything I need here and so much I want :) Rae has done so much to liven things up downtown. Her shop is a blessing and it's local. If you're looking for quality product, this is the place.
I recently traveled to North Bay on a business trip. As an avid knitter, I always seek out the local yarn store and check them out! I absolutely adored this shop. Their support of small, local based Indie Dyers was amazing! The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable! They had a great selection of yarns, and some unique notions as well! I look forward to going there again, on my next trip! Keep up the good work!
Always excellent service and unique yarns! Rae works extremely hard to keep her business always growing, and supporting indie dyers. I specifically love the stix and stones line!
Really nice selection of yarns, and plenty from Northern Ontario businesses! The staff are always friendly, encouraging and knowledgeable. I've also done a class with Rae and it's was a lot of fun, and a super welcoming atmosphere. One of the best yarn stores I've seen anywhere!
I am not local to North Bay but cannot visit without stopping into Stix and Stones. The shop has a phenomenal selection including a great array of indie-dyed yarns. Staff has always been kind, helpful, and welcoming.
Everytime I visit my folks in North Bay, I always make sure to drop into Stix and Stones. I always find something unique and wonderful. Great service too!
A wonderful store! Great selection and always welcoming. Great at festivals as well.
I never bought anything from there but I know the owner she's friends with my last big sister and she has the cutest dog
I love the yarn selection at Stix And Stones. I always look forward to seeing them at yarn shows and really appreciate the quality of yarn. Rae carries a great selection of indie dyed yarn. She always has something I want. The staff I have encountered are very knowledgeable and have great suggestions.
I ordered a project bag, but there was an issue with shipping. They promptly resent it and refunded the shipping cost. Lovely people to deal with. And i love my llama bag!!!
I absolutely love this yarn shop. The products are nicely displayed and had me itching to get crocheting again. The owner took the time to give me ideas of simple projects to get started with. I also got some trinkets and an excellent foot balm there. If I lived in North Bay I would be taking knitting lessons there - looks like a lot of fun!
Don't expect them to be open as advertised. Showed up for 10am (store opening time) to find a sign on the door indicating they would be openning at 10:30am. Waited until 10:45am before giving up and going home with two disappointed teenagers.
The owner & her staff have never left me feeling like I or my concerns were ignored. They have amazing yarns, a wealth of knowledge & their socials and special work shops are so much fun! This store is a jewel in the North. Keep it up, Stix & Stones!! ❣️
Great service, so many choices, and cute watch dog greets you at the door
Rae is an absolute gem. She answered every single question I had about my first ever project, and helped me through the entire process (even graciously fixing my mistakes) Shes super knowledgeable and passionate about her products and I will definitely be returning to stix and stones in the future. Would DEFINTELY recommend.
I live in Sudbury, and before we got an LYS here, I would make the 2 hour drive to North Bay on a regular basis for my knitting needs. Even now, I will still go at least 2 or 3 times a year because the shop is just THAT good! There is something for everyone - a wide range of yarns, beautiful notions, lovely jewelry and the most heavenly body products! Rae and her staff are so friendly and warm and welcoming, as is the shop mascot, her sweet doggy Cusco (whom I remember as a wee puppy!). You will not be disappointed in this lovely slice of heaven on earth.
I can't say enough about this incredible store in downtown North Bay. I was looking for a fabric store when I stumbled across Stix and Stones. Originally, I was just browsing as I don't knit. After seeing the amazing selection of yarns and projects displayed all over the store, I really wanted to learn how to knit. Lucky for me it was a Friday morning and they were having a drop in knit session. The owner got me all set up with everything I needed to make the headband project that I had selected. In that 2 hour session, not only had I learned how to knit from the group, met some awesome people, and genuinely had a wonderful time with people I had not ever met before! After the session, I purchased all the supplies to take home my next project! Everything about this store is outstanding. The staff is very knowledgeable and so helpful. On my second project, I was at home working on it, and through Facebook, the store owner personally helped me when I needed any assistance. When I return to North Bay, I will more definitely return to Stix and Stone. Do drop in if you are in the area, you won't be disappointed!
I love visiting your booth every year at the Frolic. Your yarn selection is always fabulous and I LOVED the bags you brought this year. I always find a new dyer that I love! (Shout our to pretty.strings for this year’s awesome selection) Good job!
Great selection, lovely people, and amazing prices too.
Fabulous selection of quality yarn in the most stunning colours! I have been going to the shop since it opened and Rae is always ready to assist with any project, we are fortunate to have such a wonderful shop here in North Bay.
Stix and Stones is one of the nicest LYS I have had the pleasure to visit. The owner, Rae, and her staff. are knowledgeable both in the yarns and multitude of notions and one of a kind knit supplies available. The knowledge base of all is a huge help in selecting yarn and getting assistance when stuck. Knit night was a pleasure to attend with a large varied group of people who's ages and abilities varied. Yet everyone was welcoming of the others attending and help and support were given around the table. The staff were attentive and the entire experience is one of my knitting life highlights. Fantastic store with great atmosphere. Well done Rae!!
(Translated) Super nice lady nice choice of wool thank's again (Original) Dame super gentille beau choix de laine thank’s again
Stix and Stones is such a fantastic store. They are so welcoming and knowledgeable about the products they sell. And on top of that I have the pleasure of knowing Rae, she is a patient and kind teacher as well her love and passion for downtown helps to make their events thrive. I would and do recommend everyone stop into this beautiful store!
Beautiful yarn boutique with great staff and owner.
Great shop, beautiful yarns and needle craft accessories. If Rae doesn't have what you ask for she is more than willing to order it in for you. Staff are very knowledgeable and able to help with any knitting concerns I have had. Knit nights are inclusive and welcoming. Highly recommend you visit.
Absolutely love this place! Staff are wonderful and products are second to none.
I participated in my first knitting class and it was AMAZING! Rae was super knowledgeable, helpful and a patient teacher. It was a wonderful night- Definitely going to attend another workshop!
This LYS is one of my favorites! I live out of town (our of the country, actually) but make it a point to visit every time I'm in North Bay. The staff is exceedingly friendly and well versed in all their products. They carry a large array of yarns to fit most budgets, and are always bringing in new stuff. They also are well stocked with any notion you may need to complete a project. They also have a very active social media presence, which I appreciate, as I get good ideas from the posts. I've even had them send me yarn to Tampa, FL! I'd love to live closer and participate in their knitting groups. Unfortunately, in Tampa, a city several times larger than North Bay, there is only one yarn store left standing. The one I used to go to closed this past weekend. Support your local businesses!
