Please do not listen to John Davis and what he says about the school.
St. Paul's high school is an amazing highschool, and never once has a teacher abused his or her authority during my experiences there which are from 2004-present (2013). I'm guessing he graduated in 1945 or earlier whenever teachers were still allowed to use physical punishments.
You get a high quality education. This does not say that it is in any way *better* than other private schools, but the atmosphere that you grow in is unmatched and does an amazing job of preparing you for university. Religion is not forced on you either. All they ask is that you respect the fact that is it a catholic school, although i went to school there with students from backgrounds such as Judaism, Muslim, and others, and they were all respected.
The fact that it is an all boys school does not in anyway hinder a students social ability with females, and all students are not gay either. In my experience, i had one openly gay student in my grade, and was best friends with him anyway. Enough said on that topic.
Amazing school to attend for sports, and rumors about students being recruited in exchange for free tuition is a blatant lie.
The dress code is in effect for reasons such as bullying, and so that students to not wear inappropriate clothing. I have gotten used to this, and much prefer seeing students dressing classy instead of with... whats the word.... swag? On that topic, St Paul's is by far one of the most bully-free schools in Manitoba.
Overall...academics are not as difficult as people make it seem, teachers are not strict compared to teachers at other private schools, and I am personally proud to graduate from this school.
