We've got the feddbacks of people who used the products of Mountaineer Lodge (School) in the territory close to Lake Louise (Canada).
At present this business has a rating of 3.9 out of 5 and that rating has been based on 127 reviews.
As you can see the average score it has is quite good, and it's founded on a very large number of opinions, so we may say that the evaluation is quite reliable. If there are many people who bothered to leave their score when they've done well with the business, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to put feddbacks when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
Every piece of advertisement about this place is a lie. It is in dire need of remodeling. The owners appear to have zero knowledge about running a hotel. It a dump. Stay away. As much as they charge, both buildings could be completely gutted and redone in less than five years. And that's exactly what I would have done if it were mine. Stay away! Its nasty. No elevator, wood rot, old crank Windows, some weird drain in the middle of the bathroom, no AC, useless front desk people, atrocious breakfast cafeteria that seemed worse than any middle or high school anywhere on the planet. On 2nd thought, maybe book it just to see how truly bad it is. But we will not be returning.
Called front desk for a can opener or something to open a can, the person at the desk said we dont have one... come on really you dont have a can opener in a hotel.... No food tonight because all the restaraunts are closed and this dude is to lazy to do walk to the kitchen to open up the droor and grab a can opener...
The hotel is old but clean. Provides free breakfast to all guests. There is no elevator available, so be prepared to carry the luggage if you are assigned a room in second floor. Parking is free and accessible.
Great location, great staff, great room. I am not of those people that always give 5 stars. Out of 3 places we stayed at during this October trip in the Rockies, only this one gets 5 stars. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the TV screen was large (that's rare!) , there was a fridge and a microwave. The breakfast was excellent too. I was mostly impressed by the abundance of LED lights, including led strips below and under the mirror and even under the sink (very convenient if you visit the bathroom at night) - the latter start automatically by an infrared detector when you enter the bathroom. There is also an abundance of USB receptacles - by the table, by the night stand, so you can recharge your mobile devices easier. As always with my reviews I am going to upload a bunch of photos from the interior, including one from the reception.
The room was not very clean and the breakfast was disappointing - but that is the least of their issues. We were denied access to certain amenities due to the Managers personal bias and they violated the guidelines for the exemption program for Covid. False advertising AND awful service.
Room was really nicely done - very stylish, comfortable, well furnished and fresh! Bed was comfortable and front desk service was great as well. Looked like they had a good breakfast food selection but we missed it, so didn't get to check it out. Would have given this place 5 stars, but unfortunately the room was not very clean - it was quite disappointing for such a nice place; there was dust and hair on surfaces and a plastic spoon on the table. Plus there were weird things in the coffee stuff tray - small cups, but large oversized holders and one oversized lid, no sugar ... it was strange.
Very nice quaint hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There isn't much aound Lake Louise but I'd visit again.
Great hotel to stay at near Lake Louise and Moraine Lake especially if you want to see a sunrise at either location.
clean hotel with every necessary amenities. good breakfast.
Very disappointed that no one was checked for proof of vaccines. Some staff not wearing masks over their nose. Otherwise it was a great stay in every way (great location, clean, good soft beds, blackout curtains, nice showers, surprisingly big breakfast to go, etc)... but not caring about vaccines is a big problem especially when you're sharing the indoor hottub with strangers.
The free breakfast could be made into a lunch and supper if you order enough and there's a microwave in the sweet and all the rooms have been updated
Very nice rooms look like the have just been renovated. The beds were very very comfortable same with the pillows. The location is perfect for both hiking and skiing. The only down side is the room was very hot, the heat kept coming on. There was a free breakfast as well which is always nice. We will recommend this to our friends and come back.
In a great location with all the amenities you would want.
Very friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms. Look online for a free wine coupon! Also very close to the shuttles to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake
as soon as we got to the room we realized that the bathroom had not been cleaned, the toilet was dirty with piss, one of the beds had a torn sheet, and the television was not working at 100% as indicated in the characteristics of the room, only some channels worked. regarding breakfast, we were only informed at check in that we could not eat in the breakfast room, we had to choose what to eat in advance, it would be packaged and we would have to take it to eat in the room or outside the hotel, and the food offered was without taste, frozen and pre-cooked. it was a disappointment
Recently renovated with a decent breakfast, but there was debris on the pillow and the room could have been cleaned better.
You HAVE to stay here! 3specially if you are a romantic who loves nature. Service great! Rooms...adorable! Pet friendly, they even had bowls in the room.
Nice place to stay. Quiet and well maintained.
When I walked into the room, It looked pretty good. I turned on the TV to sign in to my Netflix account , but there was nothing. The TV was so old that it just channels on it. After that, we got out of the hotel for a couple hours. We came from dinner and I was about to shower when I noticed an underwair under the sink! When I went to bed, I noticed that there were like a thousand layers on the bed! It was so annoying getting the beds set up but then I saw yellowish green stains on the bed. The only ok part about our experience at mountaineer lodge was the breakfast. Other than that I don't recommend staying here.
Bed was super, almost too, soft; and the room was clean. The water pressure in the shower could strip the paint from a battleship. Short walk to local stores.
We were pretty blown away with the fact that the Mountaineer Lodge is considered a 2-star hotel when our experience was way beyond that ranking. The Explorer Suite was incredibly spacious and so well renovated! Everything was sparkling clean and well decorated to give that homey and contemporary, mountain lodge feel, especially with the living room electric fire place. The cherry on top was definitely our complimentary breakfast box which we could take on the road with us if we wanted to. The Mountaineer Lodge is hands down our favourite budget-friendly accommodation when exploring Lake Louise throughout all seasons!
Nice stay. Near a petrol station and grocery stores.
You guys are amazing..The staff was so so nice and a Big Thank You to Catherine..She was so helpful and she guided us very well..Her recommendations regarding restaurants and timing to visit Lake Louise and Moraine Lake worked out very well for us. I loved everything about the Mountaineer Lodge…Big Thank You..
Terrible hospitality. Stayed in the main lodge with a room on the first floor. The hot water tank kicked in every twenty minutes and woke us up with a banging/rattling sound. We let the front desk know, and they ultimately told us they had other rooms available but were not willing to move us. I was quite disappointed considering the price paid during peak tourist season. I slept maybe 3 hours. My recommendation - somewhere else and drive into lake Louise. Would not stay here again.
