I've been a Body Design personal training client for almost 3 years. I started working with Kim and her team when I finally accepted that I couldn't make the health and fitness changes I wanted without help. My first goal was to be well on my way to change when I celebrated a milestone birthday 4 months into my training - check! My son's wedding was 5 months after that and I had almost met my weight loss goal - felt fabulous! Fast forward 2 years.....Lots of changes in my life and family over the last couple of years...some really exciting...some really difficult. I've lost my focus from time to time but with the support of the Body Design team, have always found my way back. I feel strong and healthy. I'm conscious of my diet and exercise regularly. I've taken up running and love it. I sleep more soundly and manage my stress better. The icing on the cake came a month or so ago. I was at my Doctor's for my annual physical. He was reviewing the results of my blood work. He was blown away by what he saw....said the numbers looked like a 35 year old.....I'm 52!!!
I have been a client of Body Design's personal training for almost two years. I joined because I wanted a personalized health plan for both strength training as well as nutrition advice. I'm so pleased with the results I've seen - my strength, balance and confidence have all increased. After an injury that kept me immobilized for several weeks in a brace, I felt that my body and mind had completely seized when it came to exercise. I WAS an active person who loved daily power walks, weight training and active outings with my family. But, I had completely lost my confidence. Kim has wonderfully helped me to regain mind and body strength and get back to putting fitness into my day. She worked with my physiotherapist to ensure I've safely resumed my fitness activities. Having the option to have training online has been a godsend - my 1 hour workout actually takes 1 hour, not 1 hour, plus prep and travel. It has been a great experience!
My personal journey started about 6 months ago when I signed up for personal training sessions with Kim's team. My goal was to become as fit as possible before I underwent hip surgery this past March. I am very happy to report that the hip surgery went well; 3 weeks later I am barely using a cane, let alone the walker I discarded after week 2. My physiotherapist is amazed at what I am able to do already and she agreed with me that a lot of my rehab is because of the shape I was in before my surgery. Kim and her trainers did a fantastic job with the exercises, weight training and care so I would be able to be as strong as possible after surgery that in turn helps with the healing process. Because of Kim's knowledge of how to support my hip before surgery and strengthening my muscles around the hip joint, my surgeon agreed to do the surgery quickly and relieve me of my 5 years of pain. He was impressed with my physical wellness and said that I was an ideal patient to undergo the surgery and ensured me that my recovery would be quicker than most because of my physical fitness. I was walking and practicing stairs within 2 hours of surgery, discharged only 5 hours after surgery all because I was well prepared before going in. My advise to anyone requiring any joint replacement - Visit Kim at Body Design and "Be Fit", so you can "Live Life". I am thrilled that I got fit, ate well and went through this journey with Body Design because now I am almost back to were I was 5 years ago, with no hip pain and I can live life the way I want to. I signed up for personal training at Body Design about 2 years ago mostly because I got tired of that little voice in my head telling me I wasn't doing right by my body. I had tried for years to have a consistent exercise routine without much success. Right from the first assessment I knew I had found the right fit for me. Personal training at Body Design offers challenging workouts tailored to my goals and limitations (because we all have some!). I feel safe and supported at every personal training session. Now, I feel stronger, more flexible and most importantly healthier. Just try it, it will be the best decision you ever made and that little voice will thank you!
I have been a Personal Trainer client of Body Design for over 5 years. I can say I have successfully reduced my weight by 20 lbs of fat and maintained this reduction over the past 4 years. Body Design also provides me ongoing training even when I travel, sugar detox clinics, fish oil and at home workouts with regular weekly objectives.
Kudos to the Body Design team for accommodations made to address personal fitness needs and difficulties in their workouts.It is apparent that thorough planning related to client needs and modifications occurs. Recently, changes were made for me which resulted in a successful training routine. Leading by example, trainer Kim Mortson monitors client progress and communicates with her team. This leads to consistency of programming with an understanding of individual client needs.

I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing personal training both in person and virtually. To me, the virtual version is so convenient. I get one on one training support from the comfort of my home. The workouts are challenging and I’m always amazed with the things you can use to workout with. Online personal training has given me the accountability I needed on my wellness journey. I have been a Body Design Yoga client for the past 4 years. I joined with the hope to become more physically balanced and stronger. I cannot believe how much my strength, and flexibility have grown and how toned my body has become through my Yoga class with Nicki! I recently decided to also try a group personal training class. I have to say at first I was a little intimidated but our instructor Arlene has made the class fun and ensures we all know how to properly execute the expected exercise and what our bodies should be feeling if we're doing it properly. I cannot believe what I have been able to accomplish in a very short period of time. Monday night Yoga is a class I try to never miss and I can say I feel the same way about my Saturday morning training class as well! Kim certainly has an amazing team of instructors leading her classes and these people have certainly helped and continue to help me to accomplish my personal goals for a healthier, stronger, balanced life!
I have been a Body Design client for about 7 years. I have participated in many different classes including yoga, zumba, bootcamp, and even some personal training. All of the instructors are knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about fitness!
I've been a client of Body Design for several years, participating mostly in their Yoga Classes on Monday and Wednesday mornings. Lea has been my yoga instructor for these. She adapts the class for various levels, from beginner to experienced. She has a gentle, calming voice during the meditation at the end of class which I love. She challenges us to build core and upper body strength, as well as work on flexibility and balance. She changes the class routine from week to week so its always varied. She is very friendly, and genuinely cares about each and every one of her yogi's! Thanks Body Design for offering these classes in our area.
