Great school with nice teachers and good facilities. Recently expanded (and renamed from George R. Allan Elementary School), it has a long history of superior education in Hamilton.

It's been a wonderful school for my son. He enjoys it very much. The staff is very kind and hard working. Would highly recommend this school.

Great teachers at this school. School leadership is very approachable. Front office staff are always very friendly. Ms Wang and Ms Tang are great for when the kids are younger and are still accustomed to being at home. Ms Ding is great for when the kids are older and homework becomes a way for them to supplement their learning in class. The Mandarin immersion program here has been a Godsend.

I am sorry to say this but the school has been a pain since we started. My son has a disability and the way I was treated for advocating for his needs/education was horrible. Especially the kindergarten teacher and vice principle were nothing less than a nightmare. I would never recommend this school to anyone. Miss King was the only teacher that was amazing! and the EA we had in JK

Children have a great time learning through fun and easy ways. Really appreciate the staff, especially teachers. Good communication by teachers and staff in all aspects.

True North Canadian
Our son attends Cootes for a couples years and it is clear to see that there are many caring people in this school, kudoos to those people for doing things for the right reasons. However for others, its just a job. It is also apparent that the schoolboard and staff have a private agenda where their union rights are more important that our kids...this is quite sad and disappointing. :(

They don't do much about bullying at this school and a teacher going by ms Morgan is very annoying and mean.

I'm very happy with the education my son is receiving at the newly named and renovated school. The teachers my son has have been top shelf caring individuals who are teachers by calling not just a job. Recommend this school to any new comers to the pristine area of Westdale.
