I first joined the Kumon Math and Reading programs eleven years ago - when I was living in Toronto. From my recollections of the Kumon centre I was enrolled in, the service they provided was fair, but nowhere as extraordinary as the service the Kumon Math and Reading centre in Grande Prairie provides. After graduating from the maths program at the Kumon of Grande Prairie four years ago, I’ve been working as a part-time tutor. The lessons I’ve learned and the experiences I’ve had under the mentorship of the owners at Kumon Grande Prairie have been life-changing. Kumon’s comprehensive, individualized learning curriculum has solidified my habits and work-ethic in maths and everything I do. I’ve always said that it isn’t merely the maths or reading Kumon teaches; instead, it is the fact it makes you more determined in everything you do. I attribute most of my success in school and extracurriculars to the lessons and experiences I’ve had as a student at the Kumon of Grande Prairie. Thanks to the Kumon Mathematics Program, I have maintained a 100% average in maths throughout high school and first-year university, and an exceptional average in my other subjects. Last year, I graduated from the Grande Prairie Composite High School as the Valedictorian, Most Versatile Graduate, and recipient of the Schulich Leader scholarship (Canada’s most coveted undergraduate STEM scholarship). I hope that serves as a testament to the exceptional service the Kumon of Grande Prairie provides students. I recommend enrolling your child as early as possible to get the most out of the Kumon experience. If you are hesitant about enrolling your child as a student, I recommend booking an appointment with the owners to learn more about the program and what it has to offer your child. The owners are some of the most devoted, hardworking, and down-to-earth people I know who want to bring the best out of everyone of their students.

My son was Struggling with math in September 2020. We reached out to Kumon, and it's been nothing but a great experience, price is good and the staff is awesome! My son had a tremendous progress, everyone is absolutely amazed by his progress. Not just that, but also his behavior, he's got more confidence! Strongly recommend ????

When we decided to put our daughter in Kumon she was proficient in math, but lacked the confidence to trust what she was doing was right and ask questions if she was incorrect. Instead she continuously would guess at the answer and change it repeatedly thinking she wouldn't be right. After having her in Kumon for two school years she is not only amazing at math, she is confident, proud, capable and well ahead of her grade which makes her feel successful! We are diligent with making sure she puts the Kumon system of consistent repetition into practice by doing sheets everyday and not doubling up on certain days and taking others off. This system REALLY works, repetition, repetition, repetition and it only takes an average of 15 minutes a day!! No need to wait until your child is really struggling, if you see signs now I absolutely recommend starting!

We did the assessment and was told our child was behind in math, which we knew. We were told a timeline of when she would be up to date and at the proper grade level. Our child diligently performed her math drills every night and went to the centre times a week. After 2 years she was no closer to being caught up than when she started. We asked what can we do and they just lowered her down a level. There is no teaching or actual learning of math skills. It’s just repetition. Our child never learned the concepts behind what she was actually doing. She can rattle off all the multiplication tables but has no understanding of what they mean. This was a huge waste of time and money. When we told them we were canceling they said thanks for being apart of kumon. No question of what they could do to help improve her education.
