My 9 year old and 6 year old stated in fall 2018. They were signed up for both Math and English. KUMON helped set the foundation for better reading and comprehension as well as being efficient in their math. By January my 6 year old was reading at a grade 2 level was top in his class in math. His penmanship is improving as KUMON emphasized in proper penmanship. My 9 year old became more effective in her math and her reading comprehension was rated a grade 5 level. KUMON has really helped my kids understand the foundation for studying, time Managment and value for excelling in a subject. I will continue to put my kids in this program because the positive benefits observed.

I highly recommend Kumon Math & Reading Centre. I work at the place to help students reach their potential through support with classwork and providing feedback for improvement. I have seen significant progress in students' reading and mathematical skills in this program. My sister had taken reading and math through Kumon to sharpen her skills. Being involved and working through the curriculum has rapidly improved her performance in school. I'm grateful to be a part of the staff as it helped improve my communication skills and gave me exposure to working in a classroom setting. There is never a dull moment and working with the team is enjoyable!

I first started Kumon in september,they have helped my math skills improve a lot by starting at a low level in math and improving from there.Miss IJ is very helpful and teaches you different ways to solve equations not just on the paper and booklet but in your mind.I do recommend Kumon!

One of the very best decisions I made was to enrol my 3 kids in Kumon, the program teaches consistency and being confident with maths and english. Mrs Ij ensures that the kids are initially graded and start at a level that they should be at and if a kid is placed at a lower level, they will eventually catch up to their class level as she explains that the kid needs to know the basic and actually build on the basic with the understanding that comes with it. Life has really been easy with knowing that at school, my kids are confident with what they are learning in kumon and most important is that all 3 teachers have acknowledged this and i guess it also makes life easy for the teachers as well. Mrs Ij definitely has the patience to work with each child to bring out the best in their ability/ potential and this i am most grateful for. To any family that is out there wondering how best they can help their kid achieve their full potential in maths and english, think kumon and connect with Mrs Ij you will always look back and know that you made the right decision for the kid. I personally highly recommend Kumon any day and time.

I am extremely happy with the Kumon program. I heard about it on the radio and then from a friend who raved about it! I thought to myself “I want my 5yr old reading and doing grade 1 math too”. I quickly had him enrolled in October 2018 and his writing has improved, he is slowly reading and a wizard in additions! The coordinators of the program in Fort McMurray have been amazing to say the least. I received a text one weekend from LJ who was just checking in on Jaden. She asked if we could come over with him and we did, just thinking she wanted to share some tips on learning styles with us….When we arrived at her house, she asked where his homework was and then we quickly realized that the intent was to work with him on his homework and make him more comfortable with the curriculum. This is our best investment yet!

Above all else I think the most important skill kumon develops is habit building. Discipline opens doors for students to be able to improve in what ever skill they are interested in, not just math and English. 2 years ago in grade 8 I finished kumon’s language arts program, it took me five months I believe. Math is entirely different, I’m not so good at it, nor am I as interested in it, but I’m working on it little by little. To parents reading this, I’d suggest you place more value on your child’s consistency rather than the results of their worksheets or tests. I’ve heard from some friends that they quit kumon because they felt like they were being treated as dumb, since most students start off at lower levels to build fundamentals. Try to encourage a patient approach, and set relevant goals so your kid feels motivated to work. Learning to enjoy the process of trial and error is a very valuable lesson, and once your child sees the progress they’ve made, they’ll be more motivated to keep at it slow and steady.

In love with Kumon! I enrolled my son when he was 3. Now he’s 5 and can read an entire story book all by himself! He spelt the word cardiologist with zero help. All thanks to Kumon. He can add and subtract 3 digit numbers. I love how Ms. IJ let’s him take his time and does not rush him into it. Highly recommend Kumon!
