REVIEWS OF Collège Sainte-Anne - Préscolaire et primaire IN Dorval

If you want to speak to a person, that's not the school for you, as the receptionist will immediately direct you to their website. They must be really proud of this website because for each and every question I asked, the answer was "You'll find the answers on our website" or "the registration officer is very, very busy"... Now, having read the other reviews, I can finally understand why... Go figure how they can survive, what with their special brand of rudeness, bad manners and complete uselessness, in the competitive Montreal environment of well-established private schools that are going well beyond their job requirements to be super-nice and super-helpful...

Our daughter has been at Academie Saint-Anne since it opened, and there wasn't a day since then she didn't want to go to school. The atmosphere is full of energy, in great part due to the amazing staff and the school's director. All the teachers my daughter had were very good with kids, creative in their teaching, and hard working. The kids learn proper English, which is hard to find in Quebec. We are very happy with this school and highly recommend it.

The best choice we could have made, in my perspective. The school incorporates many aspects of development (cognitive, emotional, physical, technological) and above all prioritizes creativity, respect, cooperation -- all things that are crucial for today and tomorrow's world.

Want to know what teachers and school do when you child got injured during class? I’d like to share with you the experience of my child later, just a reminder to those who plan to put your child in this school, ask yourself these questions: will the teacher and school keep your kid in class to suffer 4 hours pain after severe fracture, no accident report or phone calls, and lies even with witness? 5 Stars for those schools said no to the above question.

(Translated) In the few communications we had with them for the admissions process, there were always errors. The return for the verdict was not only very long, but they sent us an email that our son was accepted for 2 days after sending an `` ERRATUM '' email that our son was ultimately not accepted, and the all without excuses or explanations. For a private school at an exorbitant cost, one would have expected a minimum of professionalism. (Translated) This school is superior for the development of children. The school team are super well organized, extracurricular activities are cutting edge and very varied according to the interests of the children. The management as well as the administrative staff are beyond expectations and always available to parents. The outside court is just WOW and can only entice the youngsters to play outside. In my opinion an elementary school where I do not hesitate to send my child.

(Translated) My advice never to enroll your children in this school. The staff are nonchalant and impatient with the children since they are overloaded, there are almost 500 students in this school, there are 26 students per class. In addition, as this was insufficient, they are adding a 4-year-old pre-kindergarten so the students will be crowded like sardines and in 2023, a secondary school will open on the same land, it becomes a factory and not a good school. educational.

I may still only be a child, but I know more than most parents do about this school, mist probably because I’ve been there. I would give it five starts but there are a few things that hold it back. 1. The I pads and computers. I really like how they integrated some new technology into the school system but sometimes, I feel like it is too much. I did not have much time to socialize and I felt kinda lonely. As soon as I went to the college, I started to focus more on my hobbies like drawing. 2. The judgment Most parents wouldn’t know about this but I’m here to inform you. You don’t get much help when you get a bad grade. The teachers give no comment. Most children there are pretty young, so they don’t know how to take matters on their own. The children need to get more help. There is no way to help the kids who are in trouble. Unless if you pay extra for tutoring. If you don’t know this, kids like taking about their grades and whenever someone figures out that a certain kid got a bad grade, they wouldn’t confort them or offer help. This is something that is crucial in the real world and that children need to learn in school. 3. The staff. Oh how can I say this... The receptionist. There are two of them but one of them is really... rude. Not only to the parents but also the kids. I don’t remember exactly but I remember wanting to cry after talking to that person. I know that I never want to talk to her again. 4. The e-mails (Google) We literally all have the same e-mails and passwords for our google account except for seven numbers. That certain seven number code is written on that persons computer/ iPad. The kids could literally get the password of someone and hack that persons account. I have done that once but I didn’t do anything. I just looked inside of a certain persons drive. If the school changed these things I would rate it five stars

For one of the most expensive French private schools (around $11,200, including transport and other additional fees), they must have picked the rudest receptionist I've ever come across in my entire life! Instead of directing us to the person in charge of admissions or someone who is more knowledgeable, she simply stated that the admissions officer is very, very busy (aren't we all? but somehow, I found the time to browse over your website and, needing more information, reach out to you, in order to find out more information about your high-brow school!), that I should be consulting the website, since all the information I require is there! She repeated this thing about the website about 3 more times and when I was completely exasperated and told her that I simply couldn't find my answers on their website, she sullenly offered to guide me through the website with the questions I needed answered.

Not a parent/student, but an unhappy resident of the community who like many others, endure daily congestion on Bouchard thanks to an improperly managed child drop-off system. Parents dropping their kids off on the main avenue, or across the street at the strip mall, block traffic and bottleneck Bouchard in both directions for an hour every morning rather than follow the prescribed drop off route that enters the school grounds, which consequently, possesses its own congestion issues. There is plenty of opportunity to develop a more sound solution that doesn't impede traffic flow for neighbouring residence.

There so many wonderful things about this school that make me want to give 5 stars - fantastic and amazing teachers, wonderful support staff, and fun activities with a great physical education program including dance. Children seem very happy. This part is very very good. I can not give it 5 stars it deserves. This is because administration is terrible and rude and disrespect parents. There is very poor communication with parents (communications translated using Goggle Translate with no care to correct at all!), information comes last minute (10pm night before), very confused, often only in French (I thought billingual school?). Very very disorganized. Less respect on parent concerns. There are decisions made by administration to use far much on technology to solve problems (example even TV at lunch is said to be good and smart decision after parents worry!) . When parents bring worries they told no problems, excuses made. Some parents even had threats. Even I have to protect who I am to write this because of fear of administration. So SAD!

Not a parent, just a aggravated citizen. The traffic they create is absolutely asinine. And the parents are some of the most obnoxious and entitled people I have ever met!

Académie Ste. Anne is an amazing, unique and highly innovative school. They are light years ahead of any school out there in terms of technology and exposure to agriculture and nature. Their sports facilities are state of the art. The students who attend are very fortunate to be learning in such an amazing environment!

It's a disaster! I'm glad I had a chance to attend a mini open house and see how kids being taught. I spent almost an hour there and all this time I saw kids with ipods and laptops everywhere! Teachers sit in their corners and kids work with some apps. Kids do not talk to each other, I did not see teachers walking and explaining something like i saw in the other schools. And this is starting the age 5. I asked if kids were actually learning how to communicate, how to write and how much time they spend attached to the screen. I was told it's 50:50. Parents, your kids will spend up to 4 hours a day with ipods, will come home and do the same. And then we ask why do they have headaches, blurred vision, they don"t want to talk or share. Why? They have an ipod! When I visited another very expensive private school and asked how much time they spend working with apps, the principle was surprised - not more than 1 hour per day at this early age!!! They have to develop social skills, spend time outside, draw, imagine, etc. At the end it does not matter how well your kid knows art or history if by the time he graduates he has tons of health issues and his best friend is ipod.
