I won't say it's the best, but it's alright. Some years from gr 1 to 7 were dodgy but the rest were fine. There's dust everywhere, and honestly the principal could be nicer. Already graduated, so I don't know who they have to deal with now. Anyways, I liked it being the biggest school in BC, most of the people there were kind, I guess.

Probably the worst school I've ever seen. The equipment is ancient. The teachers always try to get into your personal life. They try to rip parents off with scholastic programs and hot lunch. The teachers seem to be ridiculously lazy, and do not listen to what the class has to say. Most teachers are full of themselves, acting like they are the rulers of the world (Miss Lazyric as we called her). The janitors do a poor job at cleaning the school, sand and dust is often found scattered across the hallways for days. The material is taught in a poor manor, sort of forced down the throats of students giving them a hard time learning and understanding material given. They do not allow you to have relationships with the opposing sex. A couple in my class got in trouble for kissing during lunch which I found ridiculous and quite hipocritical. Overall a horrible school that has given me nothing over the years I spent there (in grade 7 they were teaching us multiplication. Seriously grade 3 stuff???).

Wow. A lot to remember. Many good things. Many terrible things. I've been in this school from Kindergarten and graduated here. I legitimately know everything about this old place. If you ask me where the rips are on the lower side of the wall, I can direct you to it. If you ask me where the dents are on the floor, I can tell you about the few hundred million zones with dents and bumps on the clay floor. Yes, so I know that much about this school. Experiences and sightings. Obviously, you can already tell that I don't like this school very much. If that's what you think, you'd be right. Why? Because this dump never changes. Every day of my life at Marlborough was the same. Lifeless hallways, dark rooms, and dusty paths. Nothing lit up the school except for the ancient Windows XP computer screens. Speaking of hygiene and cleanliness, you won't go ten metres without hearing sand rustling wherever you shuffle, or hearing the loud "waxed" clay. But it all comes down to the janitors. It's their fault. The gym floors get sweeped once or rarely twice a year because it is "a lot of work" quote on quote. Paint is wearing off and the cement floors outside are stained with whatever kids do with it. The grass gets mowed three times a year. The dirt is "cheap" and it is very bumpy. We have a track on the west building made out of gravel and sand. For some particular reason, there is glass on the tracks. That, I cannot blame the janitors or the school. But what really bothers me about the field outside is the animal droppings. Every. Where. You. Go. You might almost trip on poop. Report the droppings to the office and they will call up a janitor. But it somehow feels like the janitor fell asleep while cleaning the washrooms. Because it takes them 30-60 minutes to come and dispose of the poop. Be careful when you use equipment on the playground and vice versa. The equipment have a massive layer of wood chips, rocks, or both. I slipped on one of the "balance beams" and ended up winding myself and bruising my knee. There are five general types of kids. The talkatives, the nerds, the jocks, the quiets, and worst of all, the "cool kids". By "cool kids" I mean sometimes bullies, spoiled brats, and kifs who think they have more authority than everyone else. If I had a choice, I would be part of "the quiets". The teachers. Oh boy. The teachers... are amazing. But lose the raffle and you get a demonic teacher. No offence, but they are cruel. They have favourites, they demand errands, and they only talk to kids they like. But besides that, yes, the teachers are amazing. *Cough Cough Grade Seven Teachers*... Oh, and events are cheap and low-budget. (I understand there is about a thousand kids, but...) Even though about 95% of this review is negative ( I wouldve rated it one-star... ), I somehow really enjoyed going here. Making new friends, volunteering, etc. I'm honestly a little sad I left this school and proceeded onwards, but memorable experiences dont fade, so I'm still happy. I hope this review helped your understanding of this school. Thanks.

Welcome to Marlborough the biggest school in all BC one of the best school ever when to the grade 7 was fun I have fun in the two year in Marlborough

Max Rogers

An ok school, not gonna lie I had fun there but a lot of the decisions that the staff and management made was pretty rushed and not well thought about, especially taking away our outdoor garbage cans. Now that was kind of unreasonable. Now I'm in high school and wish I didn't take that year for granted.

Apparently from the information gleaned from the Internet, this is the biggest elementary school in British Columbia and there is a French immersion program offered here. I can't speak much for the curriculum or teaching staff as we were just here for the playgrounds which have enough variety to keep your toddlers and young children busy.

Great school, went here for grades 2/3/4 and loved it. The students are all rlly nice but the school doesn't rlly teach you all that much. I mean, the purpose of school is to teach you stuff, but this place doesn't do that so well. A plus, however, is that there are lockers here after primary. You get lockers first in grade 4 and it's nice parctise for later on in highschool. I remember how some of my friends had troubles opening their lockers, lol. I didn't cause I went to school here once, had early practise.

École Marlborough Elementary school is not only the biggest school in all BC, but also the best. It used to be a Secondary school, so it has two gyms. There is a track field on the West side, and large sand area on the East side. There are two main buildings, the West building and the East building. The East building has two playgrounds, and contains the classes of the primary students, whereas the West building has one large playground and is home of the Intermediate students. The school starts from kindergarten and ends at grade seven. Being a french/english school, students will have the choice to either join the French or the English immersion class in kindergarten. In grade six, there will be a late french immersion class available. If you chose for your child to be in french, you may him/her switch at any time to an english class. Starting in grade one, students may chose to join the school choir. There are three school choirs, in fact, an intermediate choir, a primary choir, and an honours choir. In grade seven, students will be able to join the school band, which has many different instruments to choose from, including flute, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, clarinet and even the French Horn. The teachers and staff here are kind and will always be there to help if your child needs assistance. ESL courses are available, and they also have a school counselor. The school has amazing music teachers and an incredible library. Usually in the first term your child can join the cross country team, and in the third term, the track and field team. There are so many great things about Marlborough that a short review cannot possibly say it all. Also, if your child attends Marlborough School, you can get involved with the school by joining the parent-run PAC. The wonderful students and teachers hope to see you there!

I've been here my entire life from Kindergarten to Grade 7 (current year)! I absolutely love this school because of the kind-hearted staff and the wonderful activities they host. This school is the biggest elementary school in all of Western-Canada. It is sometimes very easy to get into and sometimes very hard (chance will vary according to the number student registrations)! They offer an absolutely amazing french immersion program, an amazing english program;and the most spectacular late-french immersion for the kids who were in english in their early years and just want to give a shot in french. I have been in the Late-french program for almost two years now and the teachers who host it are amazing. Your kids will be smashing through the french language because these teachers make it fun and exciting (although they are very strict teachers). The school environment in spectacular with a large gym and a small one, 3 playgrounds, court wards (only accesible by GRADE SEVENS at lunch and recess (not-restricted for teacher and staff) This school hosts many clubs and teams. For example, 3 choirs, a track, basketball and volleyball team and so much more! I hope you (viewer) would like to register your child to this amazing, wonderful school.

Look,I'm not saying that the school is bad but there are many things that the school needed to fix here are the things 1. the computer is weigh to olllllllllllllllllllllllllllld The computer still uses a very old version of windows, when you download games it wont work everytime, and sometime on a project the computer is super laggy.also there are lots of people that's upset about that they cant change the background of their computer. 2. the stupid door rule this rule needed the door east side door locked all times, many people is arguing about this,it made our life in school harder,it made us a slowmo! also before the west side door isn't locked, now it's locked 3. garbage can the school really needs more garbage can, people are littering everywhere and the school is upset about it,school made lots of announcement about it,so why not add more garbage can? 4.Careless When I was here the school is a perfect school, but thing changes too much,The principal have retired and there's a new principal(this is not careless).me and my friends saw a graffiti on the wall and its says "fipo" (if you are from this school you might know about it)the school have a ton of cameras, and they did not care about it! also it's a very bad graffiti,it's clearly done without any spray paint,if I do a graffiti I would at least do better than this one

It's an OK school, big playground, big fields, big gyms, lots of friendly people. Compared to the other schools in our region you could say it's one of the best. However, there are many things that aren't good: 1. The janitors are overpaid lazy people. Check the two gyms for example, the entire floor is covered with sand and dust, even after school at around 7:00. You might argue that the gyms are big and hard to maintain, but if you go to Burnaby North where they also have big gyms the floor is pretty much perfectly free of sand. Check virtually any other school and the gyms are also clean. This also isn't about the gyms but about many other things. Other than the occasional throw up the janitors don't do any actual cleaning. Our classrooms are dirty, some of the bathrooms are just gross, and there was the time there was dog poop and we called the janitor literally 5 times and literally 45 minutes later they finally came and scooped up that 1 piece of poop. 2. Our computers are ancient, literally ancient. This is pretty much a general problem with other schools since our board of education is run by a bunch of cheap greedy morons but *we do have a OS upgrade on most of our computers*. Unfortunately the update removed the ability to access the C Drive, even with a batch file, removed the ability to change the desktop background and window color. Luckily the windows 7 computers have Java7 so you can play Minecraft, if the teachers don't catch you. 3. The teachers teach stuff literally meant for second graders. *Don't* blame them though (Except a few exceptions. For example Ms. Madu doesn't use the textbooks and teaches us at most 3 digit times 2 digit multiplication for the whole year, but that's a different story) The education board is to blame. But seriously you don't want to work together with other people when you are asked to solve a problem, because no matter what you say you can't seem to get it through the other people's skulls. A population sample said that 85.8586% of the people who attend this school know as much as at least a 4th grader. However if you are good at math and have a good teacher they might let you skip the normal curriculum and go on the computer instead. But still like all teachers some are lazy, tangential (I learned that word from a *KIDS* cartoon, no kidding, meaning wandering off topic) and are not good at explaining. Overall the teachers are *better* than those of other schools, such as Maywood. *This is a negative section* 4. Our school track is made of sand (Bad choice), our playgrounds are filled with wood chips (A soft plastic ground like in parks would be better, but it's probably funding issues) and some of our volleyballs literally feel like they are made from quartzite (A super hard rock) , and in our gym we have to sit down on the ground (Unless your 7th grade and the teachers aren't lazy enough to set up the benches) while the lazy teachers get to sit on the chairs, no matter what the situation. Also the teachers make us to manual labour without choice (Lift benches, deliver *hotdogs* that literally weight 15 lb, lift desks while the teachers chat), worse of all they *don't pay you!!!* Seriously even though helping others is good continuously doing labour the teachers could at least HELP doing is pretty much against human rights. My friend told me a story of when he was in kindergarten, the principle gave the teachers stuff to make butter, which then was for the whole class. Instead the teachers tricked the kids to make the butter and the teacher ate the butter without sharing with the kids. 5. Some of the teachers are downright stupid and mean. Ms.Lazuark is so old and makes a big deal of some stupid thing, even though no one cares. When she asks did you have fun only one person answered, and he said he lied. Ms Young is a jerk who always yells at you like she hates her job and kids, and she gets you in trouble for things she didn't say you couldn't do. So the abbreviation: S.C.H.O.O.L (Six Crappy Hours Of Our Lives, six since it's in Canada) holds true.

Ok, honestly I went to Marlborough for my whole life. I was very involved in the sports and clubs there. At the time, I thought it was the best school ever. But now that I think of it, it started really well when I was in kindergarten and grade 1, but over the years it has gotten A LOT worse. Here are some reasons: 1) The floors in and around the school are a disaster. The janitors are overpaid and snotty. The carpet are full of bacteria and the gym floors have a layer of dust stuck to them. 2) There are so many mew rules in place. The constant switching of principals does not help. In my opinion, the principals and vice principals at Marlborough shouldn't scare the students, but be comfortable with them and create a family like environment. For example, when I was really little, the principal would do morning announcements and then would list off birthdays of the day and then classes would cheer, etc... Although now the admin seem to be frightning office people. 3) Some of the teachers, mostly in the english program dont actually care for the well being of the school. Honestly, if they are going to be teachers, put some godamn effort into making school more fun for the kids. But, there are still very many positive parts at Marlborough: - Most teachers care for children and really encourage them and motivate them to learn - The outdoor equipment (playgrounds and track) are well used during and not during school hours. I think it was a great addition to Marlborough to create a community feeling. Great job to the previous parents from PAC to raise the money to create more room and oppourtunities for all 900 kids - Finally, the French Immersion and Late-French Program here are AMAZING. RECOMENDED
