I have used several guides over the years in both Europe and North America. Kris ranks amongst the best; hence, why I keep booking with him!! He tailors your trip, to you, and in one of the most naturally stunning areas of the world. Apart from fabulous days out, he is a general all round throughly decent guy. I have previously recommended him, and will continue to do so. In fact, I imagine before this 2017 winter season is done I'll be booking him again. This review is based on multiple experiences with Kris, most recently a day out ice climbing in Kananaskis country where our party was introducing someone new to the wonders of climbing frozen waterfalls. Kris is always the same - just excellent!!

In the last 3 months I have taken 2 ice climbing courses from Kris Irwin. Each day of the 5-day courses was excellent. My group often had ice climbing venues to ourselves or were there first in crowded spots thanks to Kris' solid planning. My group and I were new to ice climbing but under his Kris' instruction we learned quickly and could challenge ourselves on more difficult climbs. I highly recommend Rockies Ice Specialists to anyone that has any interest in climbing and taking on new challenges.
