I love the drama department here, everyone is so welcoming and it's just a comfortable environment. You get really close with everyone pretty quickly, especially in Advanced Acting and Musical Theatre.

So Mr. Bradley the principal who fired a physics teacher for giving a student a zero thinks somehow thats reasonable. To make it worse the school board allowed him to keep working in a different position now. I guess I'll just tell my boss I want a paycheck for not working. This high school is just as bad any any other public school so don't really expect much unless you like sports.

All my real friends

I was a student from 2005- 2008. This school is a joke. You have other students who bullied people that were different from them by using threats and ostracism to control them. I had teachers who either looked the other way when it was obvious that they should have intervened, or took their problems out on the students. A Chemistry 30 teacher asked us to answer a question, and then dismissed me saying that " I am not all there" because I took anti- anxiety medication. This so- called "school" left me feeling defective, and angry. Honestly, If you want the best for yourself, or your child, do not go to/ bring them to this school. I could have saved myself from a lot of issues with my mental health if I was home schooled.

Where Nova Tiberium was born, and will always have roots with. Shep has provided NoTi and its community support and a lot of great contributing factors. It's no wonder why we are the home of Nova Tiberium right here - at Shep.

Went here from 2016 - 2018, never encountered bullying here, lots and lots of students. Having a mall, the transit station, and skating rink plus work out facilities within walking distance made this school super fun. Always something to do! Sheptacular and totem hoop were the best times of the school year! I miss it so much!

such a great school with an amazing atmosphere and staff. I was very sad to leave the school right before grade twelve and i really wish i would have found a way to stay there. Its honestly such a great school.

Very disappointed! This school destroyed my son's future! In 2015 2 months into grade 10 Not only expelled him from this school but from all of Edmonton! They told him his only option is Outreach wich we have tried after telling them it was not a good option for a student with Adhd and anxiety, now 2 years and still only partial grade 10 and the school system will still not allow him a proper education even though he WANTS to go to school! I am sooo frustrated with this situation and feel so bad for my son...this is not right!

Great and lively school. Excellent teachers, although some of them don’t deserve to be teachers and should just find a different career if they’re not gonna be a proper teacher and just sir at their desk all class while we copy down notes. Went there for grade 12 and I liked it. The students are the worst though. They’re too loud and think they can do whatever they want. Always kids blocking the halls while I try getting to my next class. The library during lunch was always extremely loud since the librarian did absolutely nothing to keep it quiet.

School is decent inside, if you are thinking of switching schools it is a good school. Teachers are all helpful and nice except the advances chibese teacher. They have extra help and tutoring for students and have food for students in need. I bit hard to find friends and can be lonely but education is good.

First of all, I find it outrageous that people who have never even attended this school are giving it bad reviews based on what they have heard from the media about one physics teacher and one principal, both of whom are no longer at this school. The teachers (particularly those who teach at the 30 or 30 IB levels) and programs (I was primarily involved with music) are great and helped me make the most of my high school years. Not only that, but I can attest that it prepares students very well for University (especially with the IB program), contrary to the view held by many that it inflates grades and discourages student accountability. I owe much of my academic success thus far in University to what I have learned here, and I would give it my highest recommendation.

Just so you know with regard to firing a physics teacher for giving a zero because work was not completed...the principal of this school is the key ingredient to destroying the future of our next generation. Why doesn't this principal tell students that it is okay not to show up at work and still get a pay check?

Vinh Nguyen

Shep is one of the most elite secondary schools in Edmonton. The math and science departments are extremely strong—with many passionate teachers not only capable of preparing students for university, but serving as a beacon of inspiration for many future endeavours. Various topics introduced (for student interest only) in my physics and chemistry high school classes provided a great foundation for many of my university level science courses. Shep has an elite fine arts program as well, providing the healthy balance essential for shaping a well-rounded individual. One of Shep’s most notably distinct characteristics during my high school career was the lack of a social hierarchy within the student body. There were no distinctions between nerd and jock, cool kids or outcasts. Everyone gets along with everyone, and thus the school celebrates a diverse array of backgrounds, disciplines, and ideas. Shep offers many clubs and initiatives for extracurricular activity, and many opportunities to begin building a portfolio at a young age. During my tenure as a student here, I did not realize the caliber of this school. It was not until I started meeting people in university that I realized how fortunate I am to have attended Shep. This high school lays a brilliant foundation, and provides an advantage for students pursuing tertiary education. Shep is unlike any other high school—a virtue to be celebrated. To current and future T-Birds: make the most of your time here because if you don’t, there will be one day you wish you did. To Shep teachers and staff: continue to motivate and inspire students, laying the foundation for our future generations.

Most teachers just sit at the desk and make you copy notes down which does not teach you anything.

Justin Vung

Very good teachers when I went there in almost all subject areas. The only thing I did not like was some of the students (and this is not really the school's fault) and some of the administrators (in particular Bradley.). I was still able to succeed at this school.
