I graduated from the Campbell College Administrative Professional program in 2012. The training I received during this program, the people I got to know, and the staff employed there, made my schooling experience really exciting. Before I came to Campbell, I was attending the LINC program at Metro Continuing Education to improve my English skills. I used to be a stay-at-home mom in Germany raising my four children, but I moved to Canada with hopes of a better life for them and with the dream of finding myself. When I started the Administrative Professional program at the Campbell College, I really felt that my life was taking a turn. During all my classes, I started to feel like I was becoming part of a big family and started to gain more confidence, in my skills and what I had to offer an employer. My life was permanently changed. The Professional Development classes have given me the ability to adapt to the Canadian workplace as well as society as a whole. The program is interesting, intense, and extensive. Before the program, a simple task like doing research on the internet was one of the only exercises I had completed on a computer. Thanks to the program at the college, I have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and job-search techniques. While I was taking the program, I was going through a very difficult time due to some family issues, and even though I didn’t feel like I could focus completely on the assignments, the staff gave me a lot of support and made me smile in times of sorrow. The teachers took their time to thoroughly explain everything (step by step) until I had a clear understanding of each concept. After graduating from the Campbell program, I became a part of a great team. This program meant a lot to me. It has given me a new start for my life.
