This Restaurant belongs to the category of Italian restaurant.
The location of the restaurant might scare you (talk about a hole in the wall) but the food was quite good and I love the open concept they were going for with the deli/restaurant. The food items are a bit on the pricier side, especially as far as Italian food goes but the quality was very good. I reccomend this place as a location for a very nice lunch or dinner with family/dates. The olive oil and chili oil were to DIE for...
Yum, the best meats , a little pricey, but I keep going out of my way to get there.
Meal type
Speducci is absolutely an amazing place to have a casual meal and great time. The food is second to only the friendly atmosphere and phenomenal service! This is a great place to have a truly wonderful lunch or dinner - seven days a week. Highly recommend it - you won't be disappointed!
Great butcher and deli. Love their Speducci. Best tomahawk steaks. They also carry a lot of Italian products. They have a great restaurant and eating area, great for lunch. You have to try their porchetta sandwiches. They also have a fantastic venue for parties. Great catering. ????
Authentic, rustic, wild Italian meats. I love their ragu, sausage, speddini, salami... in fact everything that I’ve purchased there. I haven’t eaten in, but we will very soon.
What a hidden gem this is! I had never tried Speducci before but I found the food to be delicious and the service was extraordinarily good - very friendly. I have been twice in the past month and plan to return with friends.
Great selection of beer to go along with their delicious mains. Good option for dinner (closes at 7), great option for lunch.
Delicious prepared food. We order their cured meats - good selection and priced great
Vegetable Sourdough bread used to be our favourite but the one we bought today was not good. It was flavorless and practically fell apart when we cut it. New bakery supplier?
Great pizza. Authentic Italian style food. Fun welcoming atmosphere. Staff are super friendly. Great for casual but classy get togethers. Can get pricey with drinks though. Would give 5 stars for less expensive drinks.
Excellent products from the finest Italian culinary tradition, impossible to find anywhere else in Toronto, thanks to the mastery of Gabriele Paganelli, an icon in the Toronto gastronomical world. This place is unique for its combination of gourmet shop and great restaurant, with a limited but delicious menu. Every lover of the Italian cuisine and Italian top quality products should definitively pay a visit to Speducci.
Great quality and tasting food. Excellent service. Will definitely be back!
Really nice and fancy Italian market. High end products and even a small room with lots of cured meats including guanciale. Lots of nice sauces and soups with a butcher as well. Sauces were quite expensive but come in a large jar and the quality was there.
Excellent place to get imported and local cold cuts due to covid I wasn't able to experience the rest of the place
Great food! The risotto with chestnuts was fantastic.
I visited this place a bit while ago at late lunch time with my friends. I had porchetta sandwich and some desserts. All of us were very satisfied with the food we had. The canolli tasted a bit bitter for me, I don’t know why. But the overall food and service was beyond my expectation!! They have small room where they keep their cured meats. I had a chance to talk to chef and he was very nice and kindly explained us about the salami they make. They also have variety of Italian products, house made prepared food. The butcher counter was huge and fun to look around. I will visit this place again when I have chance!
Best Hot Chocolate...EVER!
Food is always amazing here. We stop in whenever we are in the area - this place is usually very busy. Service is great here as well.
What a beautiful place! For a pork aficionado as myself, Speducci Mercatto hands down is a top notch establishment for finer pork products and more... all produced with richest of traditional culture and quality food products. Chef Gabriele Paganelli is most definitely an artist who brings culture and quality to my community, and for that I am extremely grateful!
Always amazing —lamb speducci, salads, pasta dishes are all delicious. Fabulous spot for lunch. Lovely selection of items to purchase (meats, cheese, pasta and sauce, high quality olive oils ) Extensive and reasonably priced menu for eat in or take out/catering. Staff always friendly.
Love this place. Highly recommended it for eat in, take out or butcher/groceries. Food is top notch and service is impeccable.
Amazing food and service! The in house sauces and other prepared foods and butcher are excellent, delicious and high quality. You can also get take out... Pizzas, sandwiches, pizzas, fresh bread and Italian pastries. Lots of Italian grocery items. Charcuterie etc. Can't wait for this pandemic to be over to sit down and have a proper meal at Speducci, but in the meantime I'm happy picking up lunch or dinner to go along with food/groceries/bbq to prepare at home. Just go!!
The food, honestly, absolutely FABULOUS. The service was great and the atmosphere incredible. The parking can be a challenge but it's SO worth it!
I drive to the west end just to go to Speducci. Every sandwich on the menu is amazing (yes I've tried them all). Every visit has been met with wonderful service. They never disappoint.
My husband and I just stopped in Speducci for the first time. We stumbled on this amazing find around their closing time on Sunday. Not only do they have amazing meats, produce, and take away options but they have lots of items that can be given for gift-giving. Lots of unique items that you can’t find anywhere else. We picked up an assortment of items that we definitely didn’t need but had to try. Even though we were there after they closed, they made a delicious Arugula and Prosciutto pizza for us. It was unbelievable, 10/10. Will definitely be back.
Many friends have been here and spoken highly so we expected a great experience. Didn't happen. We reserved and got seats by the bathroom, whereas those that dropped in got better seats. We ordered the salumi board, NY Striploin (we asked for the veal chop but it was not available - too young was the reply), vegetables and Wild Boar Strozzapretti. The salumi arrived and the waiter sounded bored explaining it. They were good, though. Not 30 seconds went by and the mains were delivered. The reason was that the order was put in and now we had to take the food. We said no, and it was placed under heat lamps or a warming tray despite being told it would be remade. We were also told that the waitress isn't a waitress and was in as a favour for her friend, the owner...however, the other customers seemed to know her. Despite the pasta being neither freshly made nor hot, it was good. The NY Striploin wasn't hot either and not grilled, but, cooked in a pan? If I was at home, in the winter, maybe I'd fry a steak. But in the summer, if it says grilled, it should be grilled. We left without dessert or espresso. Surprised faces all around. Why would we stay longer?
What a fantastic place to eat, food is amazing, chef Gabriele Paganelli uses the freshest ingredientes and he does is own charcuterie, wow five stars because I can’t give 6????
Very good food. Excellent prociutto! Specialty beers seem overpriced ($20/bottle). Busy place during peek lunch and dinner hours. Best to reserve seating. Closes early...
Great Italian food. Excellent service.
Very busy during lunch, but we were still seated quickly. We had the arugula/prosciutto pizza and it was excellent again. It took a while to get our order (-1 star ????).
Interesting place in an unexpected location. Had a great vibe to it. Pizza was fantastic!
Hidden gem in North York. Such a great spot for lunch. Food is excellent! Certain things are a little over priced
First time visit. Service provided by our server Sylvie was excellent and her recommendations were very good. We got there for lunch, ahead of the crowd... Got very busy just after noon. We all enjoyed our meals ????????
It is my daughter’s favourite restaurant. Excellent pastas and pizzas. The service is excellent. Don’t forget to have a cannoli for dessert.
First time visit. Service provided by our server Sylvie was excellent and her recommendations were very good. We got there for lunch, ahead of the crowd... Got very busy just after noon. We all enjoyed our meals ????????
Always spectacular! I had a pasta special that was so good, I ordered another to take home. Service is always lovely as well.
For the most part I enjoy this place. The food is good and I like the items for sale in the store. Customer service is a hit or miss here though. Sometimes I have really great service and other times I have the staff almost giving me attitude when I'm picking up my order. There is a lady there with long, dark hair who has a very unpleasant face most of the time. I don't know if she is a manager there or what position she holds as she mostly walks around and helps here and there. If she could just put on smile or stay in the office and not show her negative attitude towards customers the experience would be a lot better .
Just wanted to say thanks so much for the delivery. I thought i was picking up. And therefore no one was home. And i had just spoke with someone at the restaurant 10 min before your drivers phone call. It is much thanks i would like to say great service for reaching us before leaving our house to make sure the food would be preserved. Greatly appreciated. And it was into the fridge within minutes of delivery thanks to the kindness of your people. Also thanks for the bonus gift of beers!!!! I will enjoy that along with the grass fed beef burgers tonight!! Ah who am i kiddin...gonna slam one of those chicken burgs too!!! See you all soon we hope. Back at the restaraunt that is!!!! Thanks a ton.
A hidden gem in The North (North York). Yiu would never expect such great food, service or ombiance in this industrial area based on the outside. Food is delicious, price is fair and portions are very good. Highly recommend, try the Speducci, they're excellent!
I ordered the Valentine’s dinner (for my husband’s birthday) and it was so delicious. We look forward to dining in the restaurant, but in the meantime this was a wonderful way to mark the occasion. Everything was delightful from the appetizer all the way through all four courses to the dessert. It was reasonably priced, service for ordering and pick up was so friendly. If you are looking for a way to mark a special occasion, or just to order in, support this local restaurant and taste a bit of Italy. Highly recommend!
Amazing spot for the high quality charcuterie plates. Took a pasta to go and it was delicious as well. Nice wine selection, service and ambiance. Worth the trek Northwest.
Are they joking with the prices??? Just up the street you can buy the exactly the same 00 flour at Metro for half the price.
Great service, great selection. Everyone is so helpful.
Best restaurant and market in the GTA...EATALY MOVE OUT OF THE WAY
hidden gem. you would never know this place existed but it really does have an amazing chef running the kitchen. great for large parties. has an amazing pantry as well for all your italian needs.
My husband and moved into the York area of Toronto and stumbled upon Speducci Mercatto and it is now my new favourite place to eat!! We order their food regularly because for us it’s a no brainer, good food, priced well and excellent customer service. This most previous order they even threw in dessert for free. Amazing customer service! I would highly recommend!
Always a busy place with a great atmosphere. Would recommend calling ahead of you are planning to sit down to eat or get take out. The food is fantastic and staff are always great. This is a unique restaurant that also serves as a butcher shop. The meats and deli meats are top notch although on your more expensive side of things. But worth the price in my opinion. Have tried many different plates, and have never been disappointed with any of them. One of the better Italian restaurants in Toronto.
Dine in
Went to this place after seeing it on BlogTo Instagram. The location isn't really ideal if you're living in the downtown core or East end. The closest major intersection is Keele and Lawrence. However, the food is amazing. Their take on the porchetta sandwich will give other restaurants a run for their money. The best part of the dinner was the truffle fries. Order them! The menu only says fries, but trust me their truffle fries.
Amazing as always. Always think we order and have nothing left at the end of the meal... Best quality food ever. Amazing service too even when the place gets super busy. Make sure you pick up something to go from the counter before you leave!
Beef spaducci very dry, unseasoned and tough. Lamb more tender but needs salt, the marinade is quite good, but much of the favours lost without seasoning. Grilled veggies were really good! Service was confused and grumpy. For a spaducci showcase joint, definitely needs to tighten thier game. Salt and taste testing is cheap.
Best steaks I've ever eaten. Great service and always pleasant.
Great selection and variety. Got the prosciutto sandwich but be aware comes with nothing. (Dont reference the google photo when ordering through google) also ordered fries and they were really good. Overall on the pricier but offers quality items Update: much more solid than cataldi will be returning back to speducci way more often
A hidden gem of a restaurant/deli/butcher shop. Absolutely delicious authentic Italian dishes that will have you coming back for more. Homemade prosciutto, pizza to die for, porchetta sandwiches that melt in your mouth, pasta dishes like mama would make... what's not to love?
The Porcini Mushroom Paparadelle and Lamb skewers are outstanding. If I am anywhere near Speducci I have to make a stop. Definitely one of my top 3 favorite Italian restaurant/cafes. They also carry a wide variety of fresh and frozen meats along with sauces, snacks and other goodies. I highly recommend trying them out!
True original fine Italian restaurant. Good food, excellent customer service, good business. Very busy, full house even on a regular Thursday noon. You may need to lineup for a seat.
Tried it today for the very first time, delicious food, fast service (thanks lola and managers) good music/atmosphere.. two things to suggest: 1- extend your hours of operation; you've got awesome food it really sucks that you close right after lunch . 2- parking is very limited.
Always a pleasure dine in here attention is always polite and respectful and the food it's just amazing!
Excellent in the way of home cooking. It’s nostalgic/ Long Island for me ..
Went lots of times and the food was great BEFORE. Last time we visited the meat did not have flavour at all, the sauce was terrible, the bread was horrible. I could not even eat the other half of the veal sandwich.... i was very disapointed
The food was amazing! Our server Marco was very courteous and attentive. Had a good laugh and meal.
Pros - Cool looking place, lots of parking. lots of sitting space, Liquor license. Cons - the worst porchetta I've ever had. Old tasting, reheated looking Porchetta.
Some of the food is very good. For example the steak sandwich. However, the lady in charge (I believe the owner) could be the most inhospitable person I’ve ever encountered. She is simply not nice! Made us wait for a table for no reason. Asked a question and got a rude reply. Not sure if its arrogance or what but her attitude and demeanour made the whole experience absolutely terrible. I will not go back simply because of her. Perhaps one day she will realize she’s in the service industry and customers need to be treated like CUSTOMERS!
Amazing charcuterie. Easily the best pizza in Toronto. Outstanding butchery. For Italian products, cheeses and spirit, that's the place.
Good food, but we couldn't split the bill between us. Also, the pizza special was way more expensive than the regular pizza prices, so ask for prices before you order. They had a lot of homemade pantry products you could purchase, which looked really good.
Thank You Spedducci Mercatto for making my daughters champagne birthday a huge success.
Such good food and super affordable! Had the speducci salad, bolognese and margarita pizza. Ordered the tiramisu expecting a small piece and got a massive plate with chocolate mousse and a huge portion of tiramisu! Really great spot.
Really nice, if somewhat small, Italian grocery store. Lots of specialty high end goodies, meat, sauces and cheeses.
This is a good restaurant to visit for some authentic Italian food. The food itself is quite good, but not mindblowing. The service is great. The place gets really crowded when it's busy, and be aware that they have several high tables and that you might be sharing the table with strangers. I recommend making a reservation.
LOVE this place. Great selection and friendly helpful personnel. It is a bit pricey, but frankly well worth every penny.
I liked this spot. We were placed in a room which was ideal for kids that don't always sit still. I liked some of the unconventional dishes.
Hubby and I had steak n mushrooms on buns, to go. Awesome! Still hot when when we got hone. Very filling. We also bought sweet sausages and lamb skewers. Cant wait to bbq them. Lots more meats to choose from
Never disappointed by the quality of their meats! Pre-covid, they also hosted a weekend market that we absolutely loved!
My boyfriend and I always go to Speducci! You have to try the porchetta sandwich, its so tender and delicious. Our go-to pizza is the Margherita pizza but one day we tried the salmon and it was just as good. We were recommended to try their Italian beer ‘32 Nebra’ which was slightly sweet. (We asked for something sweet), and it was exactly what we hoped for. Speducci is definitely a favourite. They also have the BEST porchetta sandwich - super flavourful and tender. You can choose to add toppings such as mushrooms, provolone cheese, Caramelized onions, & sweet (or) hot peppers ????????????
Woah. I've been here many times before COVID and never had an issue with the food but ordered a dish today and it was absolutely terrible. The pasta seemed like it was old and wasn't made fresh. I understand things are tough during this pandemic but when you are charging so much for pasta it should be freshly made. The food seemed like it was microwaved. I've added a second star just because the service remains good but when everyone is hurting like this, you can't take shortcuts on the food, especially pasta.
What a gem! The food is so good it will make you want to come back the next morning.
Suggestions - ' 1) A large vestibule to cut down on the draft when the door opens. 2) It is a real shame that the restaurant is not barrier free/accessible. Easily fixed in this case: automatic door openers. The meal was quite good. The salumi board was thoughtful and tasty. Service was quite OK. There is a definite personality and that may not be to everyone's liking. Fries and pasta delicious. Ample parking.
Dried bison salami and overpriced boar salami..... It's a novelty store couldn't always be a go to. Just my opinion. I have put the bison salami in my humidor???? maybe can add moisture ???? and soften up the piece.... Less risk of pulling fillings ???? But can't lie, was tasty.
Food was good, but the service sucks! The owner is rude and does not know how to treat customers. Never going back here again!
In industrial area but don't let that stop you. Great atmosphere great pizza and lamb skewers and salad. Separate counter to buy home made Italian cold cuts made on location
Food was excellent. Atmosphere was nice. Traditional Italian. Price was moderate but appropriate. Recommended.
Authentic Italian food , excellent service. We were able to have a conversation yet be privy to all thst that was happening around us. Food portions were good and nicely presented.
Great restaurant. The dining, food, and staff are light years ahead of the competition. I just went to Speducci on Tuesday October 26, 2021 after not being there since before the lockdown, and I was impressed with how nice their renovations looked. Service was impeccable. But… please, please, please bring back the original pizza shape and dough thickness. It’s what really separated you from the competition. The pizza is still really good, but it’s original version was superior. And also, the showmanship of the original pizza was better too. It use to come on a nice wooden cutting board, with your own tongs. It just made for a more unique experience.
Best pizza I've had so far in this city.
They make bresaola beef and buffalo!
We had the valentine's meal yesterday and it was outstanding. Good quality and super tasty. Great value as always.
Always a pleasure to visit spedduci. The meat sold (many of which is grown locally at the chefs farm) is treated with love and the quality is second to none. If you are going for a bite to eat the food served is also fantastic. We enjoyed a meat and cheese board and salads. The cheese board had wonderful pairings with enough on the platter to make you feel satisfied. The salads were topped with an order of spedduci and were worth every penny.
Great food with private room options available
Favourite pizza restaurant by far! I’ve tried several Italian restaurants specializing in pizza and Speducci is at the top of the list! From their crust, their pizza sauce to their spicy oil ????????. Just perfect. Willing to drive through 1 hr of traffic one way to eat at Speducci’s. Apart from the Margherita pizza, lamb sticks and their butter and sage ravioli are highly recommended.
If you haven't been you are truly missing out! Very cool space and amazing food and service!
I eat here a lot since I work right next to it. I like how the service is always good and they keep the spot neat regularly. Pricing is affordable and they serve sizeable portions.
Lunch
I came here today with my family for a quick lunch and have to say that the food and service is excellent. One thing that stuck out for me was the way they make their fries, and the stunning presentation of the meals. Absolutely loved the experience I had there, and would recommend Speducci to anyone in the area.
Home made food, Very good food !
One of the best Italian restaurant I came across. The Chicken their is Halal. Good number of Non-Alcoholic drinks. The ambiance is supper cozy. The stuffs supportive and friendly.
Extremely cool Italian deli - prochetta was a flavor bomb. Very friendly staff. Definitely a redo.
The place is located relatively close to Pearson Airport, so we had an hour for lunch and drive quickly to airport. We have ordered meat and cheese board, pizza and speducci. All the dishes were really delicious!!! And pizza arrived really fast. Great food and great service!!!
Service
I recently had a lunch meeting with a colleague here, it was my first time but he is a regular and it was fantastic! The staff is awesome, food was delicious. They are opening up an entire prosciutto "bar" which looks incredible! They also have a whole butcher, and grocery section stocked full of awesome products. House made prosciutto, salami, and other cured meats. Highly recommend a visit!
Have been going there for years now. I must say its one of the best places for lunch anywhere in the city. You can see this by how busy they are everyday and how the same customers keep coming back. Try the Porchetta Sandwich!!!
Amazing food Had the wild boar pasta And the charcuterie board Well worth the try
I went there for a work function. The meat and cheese boards were delicious. The pasta melted in ur mouth. The chicken was amazing, followed by incredibly delicious dessert. And the wine Pinot Gris was just perfect. Not to mention the best cappuccino I had in a long time. The service was quick and attentive. I will definitely go back. What a gem!
This a very good casual Italian restaurant. The staff is professional and warm and make you feel like you are part of the family. The food is excellent and the prices are decent. In the store, there is a very big variety of home made preserves, pasta and other European deli. This place is famous for their cold cuts (clean natural farm meat). Enjoy the experience!
Great location for small events. Food is fantastic!
Delicious freshly prepared quality food, great menu , reasonable prices, friendly helpful staff, nice atmosphere. One of my favorite places for lunch. What else do you need to know, go eat and enjoy.
chicken spiducci very fattey do not recommend.
A cozy place to eat. We unexpectedly showed up with a party of 8, and we didn't call to make reservations (we didn't know). They quickly went out of their way to accommodate us. Thank you. The food was fresh everyone chose something different and it came all at the same time. Everyone liked the food and the portions were big. Will be going again.
Have been ordering prosciutto and cheese from them, very good quality, some from local some from Italy. Small business operated with heart. Fair price and free delivery for orders above $75, which is a very good deal. Lots of option from their online store and very user-friendly. Recommended.
Great service. Cute little shop. Bought a few of the speducci's and loved the beef and lamp, chicken was our least favourite. Would come back for sure!
Excellent service and delicious Italian dishes made from scratch. The store inside the restaurant sells many of the Spedduci products (high quality home made sauces, broth, cold cuts, etc.) and an assortment of European delicacies.
Great Italian restaurant a gem tucked away in a small location nothing but good reviews to say about this place the food is delicious the staff that work there make you feel as if you are family
The service and the food is immaculate. One of my favourite places in Toronto hands down!!!
Wonderful place, modern cafeteria, but expect a crowd at lunch hours, even on weekdays. Attentive service and staff! I had the porchetta panini/sandwich with rapini and it was absolutely delicious! The pork meat is juicy and delicately seasoned. Very much looking forward to coming back to try their pastas, pizzas, and wine selection.
We really enjoyed our visit. We ordered Pizza and Salads which were excellent. The atmosphere was also perfect for family outing... The servers were extremely professional. I highly recommend.
Great place for lunch, Just around the corner from work. The porchetta sandwich and pizza are unbelievable here. Place is always busy but the staff always manage to be in good moods. There is a butcher in here as well.
One of my favs! A gem for sure!! Great food & service!! Rosie always makes the experience enjoyable!! I drive out of my way to pick up dinner and have a glass of vino while I wait a few times a month. Eating in is also a nice time, beautiful open concept!! You will not regret it!!
First time and not the last time! Food is incredible. We sat down for lunch and tried two pasta dishes...one with wild boar and another with squash. Both were cooked to perfection! See you again soon ????
I had unfortunately a bad experience at Speducci Mercatto. After reading the reviews and looking at the menu I decided to treat our staff to a holiday lunch from Speducci. We had decided to do this in two separate days as I have some of my staff working alternate dates due to COVID. The location and space is very nice. There is a market, butcher and even a small Christmas Market (similar to Eataly). The staff was very friendly when ordering and picking it up. The food was a different story. My staff felt the food was a let down. The Steak Sandwich was cold, dry and lacked flavour. The salad was extremely bitter. The lasagna-which I had also ordered- was not good. The lasagna had goat or gorganzola? cheese in it. There was nothing in the menu that suggested this. There was also NO marinara sauce like we are used to in a typical lasagna. I understand the food could be from a different region of Italy but you have to note the ingredients on the menu (especially when they are different from what a non-Italian is used too!). The only saving grace was the deserts which were good. I called Speducci back and the lady on the phone was surprised at my feedback. She said she would let the owner know. I did not receive a call and I decided to call back. I was told he was 'too busy' and that they wish me a nice holiday. We ended up ordering from a different Italian caterer today for the rest of the large staff and it ended up a better experience than this. I just wanted to give my feedback to the owner and their manager and in no way looking to get a refund. I was willing to even proceed with the second order if I got the reassurance from ownership. I do recommend checking out the store for the great selection of Italian products but not for the food.
Dry aged steak is excellent. The rapini wild boar sausage is excellent. Their wild boar coppa is delicious. Don't forget to grab a couple of black truffle infused cacciattore sausage. Such an excellent flavor profile. Their charcuterie is some of the best but be ready to open your wallet but it is well worth it. They also carry a few imported brands of chinnotto and bitters. They have a hot table as well and from what I saw most if not all of their charcuterie is gluten free. Will be back soon to grab a few more steak soon!
Great place to dine you say, … but did anyone order drinks? We didn’t ask for a wine list, perhaps that was our mistake. We ordered on good faith and paid, overpaid the price! Our drinks were way, way over priced for the type of wine and the portion served. For the price of two glasses we would have paid for a bottle at any other place. Too bad, because they won’t see us again.
Real italian food for a change. Had rabbit & polenta a while ago, and felt like back in time while touring in Italy. I don't want to forget to mention the prosciutto and salami (wild boar & horse) so unique in Toronto. Too bad they close so early at the night!
The food is amazing! It's also a butcher shop so you can get all your favourite cold cuts and meats! This is a very busy restaurant but it's totally worth any wait! The only thing I didn't like about my experience is the seating. They have communal seating and the table seating is high. If neither of things bother you, you'll have an amazing experience!
best kept secret in T.O. --all cooks are from Italy. Authentic dishes, pricy but worth every penny. Small tables and large viking style tables, filtered water, great coffee and lots of products for sale. They will have to expand I bet my money on it. Hiding in an industrial area. If you ask you can see the production in the back. Big cozy room for private bookings. 5 stars. Parking out front.
Stopped by for lunch on a friend's recommendation. Pizza was great, but the speducci and tiramisu was average at best. Service wasn't great either. But their food is nice and fresh and a great deli selection as well. May give them another try.
love love love speducci! There is nothing there that isn't good quality. The service is spectacular. The food quality is top notch! Fresh items that are rare to find in a typical grocery store. I've dealt with Lili and she is spectacular. She is a professional/expert at recommending and pairing food items - just a gem of a person. Highly recommend ---If you haven't been or tried, then you should go. Used them for business catering and gifts to staff. They are terrific! I'm a 110% happy customer !
Excellent pizza. I ordered the Vegetarian and it had fresh grilled veggies. The French fries were divine. Very friendly service. Excellent vibe. A great place to chill with friends or colleagues. I want to go back and try their other dishes.
A long time customer. Excellent food. Always excellent customer services. Very disappointed today to observe multiple staff inside the kitchen or serving customers either not wearing masks or wearing them below their chins. I fully appreciate how taxing the last two years have been for restaurants. It must also be physically difficult working with a mask given the nature of restaurant work; however, this customer will think twice before returning, especially with a new and a potentially more transmissible variant beginning to take hold. Hoping they will correct this deficiency in their adherence to public health guidelines. Otherwise, 5 stars.
The best gluten-free pizza I have ever had! Bravo! The veggie toppings were delicious. Thanks!
Food and staff are fantastic.. loved the potato pizza, cheese and cured meat platter, lasagna is to do die for. And for dessert the Nutella pizza !
The skewers here... oh my god. I would eat a meal from Speducci Mercato each and every single day if I could. Meats served perfectly and if you get a sandwich the bread is amazing too. I have zero negative comments about this place.
Amazing food for reasonable prices. Always packed during lunch goes to show how good this place is!
Fantastic porchetta panini - make sure to add specific toppings you want as it comes plain. Busy during weekday afternoons and service is slow but not unpleasant. Energetic bustling environment (not bad, just not ideal if you want to chat or eat in peace).
1st time in. Picked up some proscuitto, bread and cheese. Just needed prosecco ???? The proscuitto was fantastic! I'll be back for more. If the proscuitto was that good, I have to visit the salami room next visit. I was intrigued by the speducci bbq in the parking lot - wish I could have one in the condo balcony. Anyway, I shall return!
I've been here like 4 times in a month since I learned it existed. Great for takeout, dining in and a great selection of meat and cheeses. This is a favourite among the many great places in the small industrial area.
Went there a year ago while going to see a concert, stopped by with my son, met the owner had a good talk for about an hour, ate well bought a box of Spedini’s , they packed them well with Ice packs it lasted t’il we got home in Montreal, it was a great place, great people and Good food!!! Enjoy!
Delicious and authentic. A hidden gem but so vibrant. There was a man at the end of our table who couldn't stop singing his praises of the place and shared his love for the salt as he sipped his wine and shopped. Will definitely be back
The food here is great been here many times... 2 stars cuz once they sold me expired meat got home seen it had expired 2 weeks ago and my sandwich had the roasted pork string inside.... should be more careful what you sell your customer's
Ordered lunch ahead of time and verified my order several times over the phone. Picked up my food and brought it home only to discover the wrong toppings on my sandwich. Very disappointed as I made it a point to verify and have my order repeated several times to ensure it was correct (toppings: onions and mushrooms, nothing complicated; received: mushrooms and cheese). Given the distance of the restaurant to my house, there was insufficient time to drive back to receive the proper order and be present for my afternoon meeting. Attention to orders should be accurate, especially if they want to continue attracting customers during this pandemic where all restaurants are struggling to stay open. Much rather give my business to a place that respects my order.
Like being in a home kitchen in rural Italy. Family warm welcome, outstanding meats and food, great menu and a real feeling of being in a place that loves food and cares for guests.
My family has ordered from Speducci for years because their food is exceptional and recently booked their event space for the first time. I can not express enough how much ALL of their staff impressed us from start to finish! The space is classic, not overdone or overpriced. They worked with our family to pick the appropriate menu, making great suggestions and accommodating some specific needs. On the day of the event they worked as a cohesive, professional, efficient and calm team, constantly aware of every guests needs, while allowing us to focus on enjoying the day. They went above and beyond!! A special thanks to Aisha, Derrick and Rosie. You are a superb team who perform with grace and ease! Thank you doesn’t express enough our family’s gratitude. We will be seeing you soon!
Market style restaurant with fabulous food service and atmosphere. One of the best steak sandwiches I have ever had. Soft bun, tender meat and fresh toppings.
Food was fantastic as usuial
The pasta and lamb chop are super delicious! Personally likd the pasta more than the pizza. The cured meats and cheese board had a good variety. Save some room for a dessert with ice cream, nuts, and berries. Very yummy! The price is a bit on the higher end.
Amazing restaurant with great menu options and flavours you can't get at any Italian restaurant. I haven't tried meats from their deli, but every time I go, I see a wide variety of options and am always mouth-watering... A bit on the pricey side, but you are definitely getting the quality you would expect for what you pay for. Highly recommend.
Excellent customer service We ordered salami cheese board, steak, pasta and tiramisu. Steak and tiramisu are the best ever! Highly recommend.
✨
Such an interesting and delicious place we happened to come across when looking for somewhere to grab a quick lunch. Very busy but they move fast. Deli, butcher, italian groceries, restaurant
I love the selections and unique items here. Pricy but you are getting outstanding quality.
Best Italian meat and grocery store in the GTA. Excellent.
Great food, great service. Ordered takeout when I got there and the staff was really friendly. I had to wait a little bit longer because of an error (which I honestly didn't mind because I was browsing the cool goods they have in the store), but they comped me a couple coffees and danishes. Food was fantasic and I will definitely be going back to try other items on their menu.
This was my first visit to Speducci Mercatto and I was really impressed with the facility, it's staff and of course the food. My friend and I shared some Lamb Speducci and it was delicious. I had one of their signature pizza's and it was tasty. Our server Shannah, was very helpful in providing suggestions to try on the menu. We followed her lead and we were not disappointed. Thank you Shannah and Speducci Mercatto for a great experience. Steve Upton
Artisan butcher / restaurant with renoun Italian Chef/butcher who also owns a wild boar farm. He was a Chef instructor at George Brown College and own a fine Italian restaurant previously in downtown Toronto. Don't be surprised if you end up running into a celebrity chef shops or eat at this place. It is where chefs eats!
Absolutely in love with this place. I have been a customer for years and love to keep hearing more buzz around this place. This place was love at first site of hanging prosciuttos. Their food is always well seasoned and treated with care to display the finest ingredients. I have never had a bad bite here. Prices are absolutely reasonable given the quality offered. Speducci Mercatto = “simply the best”.
Food is so fresh and stellar. Awesome atmosphere, amazing service. Everything is incredibly clean. Even when it's busy the food comes out super quick! I highly recommend the Speducci salad, you can mix match the Speducci if you like. The pizza is the perfect size to share with another person.
This was a pretty cool place to grab a coffee, some cheeses and or deli meats. Right next door they have a wonderful sit down restaurant. The steak sandwich I had I'm definitely coming back for. ????
What an unexpected surprise in an unusual location. The food was outstanding...so fresh and delicious. The charcuterie board was amazing. Attractive venue and nice staff.
Wow!! unique types of charcuterie and cheeses. Gabriele and his staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Will definitely be coming back to try the restaurant.
I liked this spot. We were placed in a room which was ideal for kids that don't always sit still. I liked some of the unconventional dishes.
Would’ve never found this place if someone didn’t tell me about it! Great atmosphere, open kitchen, terrific staff (I met everyone from the owner to the cooks). Typical restaurants have one server tending to you, whereas here I had multiple people ask if I needed anything (no, it wasn’t overbearing at all). Food- I ordered the risotto from their specials menu. Super delicious. Shrimps were huge and very lightly breaded, which I appreciated. This place imports a lot of their goods straight from Italy and you can also buy their house made sauces to go! Oh yeah, they have a private dining room and a huge event space that can be booked. Definitely recommend!
I was in the area for work and was looking for a place to have lunch. I am so glad I found this place. I got the porchetta sandwich and it was incredible! In fact I took a picture of it, sent it to my family and they made me go back in and get them one. I will definitely be going back.
Nice hidden place most know by regular customers. The fritata was a good surprise. It comes with some tomatoes, cheese and fruits. The skewers are really small. Sandwiches look delicious.
The pasta and lamb chop are super delicious! Personally likd the pasta more than the pizza. The cured meats and cheese board had a good variety. Save some room for a dessert with ice cream, nuts, and berries. Very yummy! The price is a bit on the higher end.
Great food, but service is really not great. Waited 30 minutes in the store (ordered via phone and being told my arrival time perfect) to pick up my pizza. Adding one of previous experience with a burned pizza, and another time with wrong type of prosciutto when opened at home. In total I took out 3 stars here.
The have had many speducci's since I married my wife 30 years ago and never looked forward to them. This place, for me my family and friends make the best, you can see the difference and definitely taste the difference. They have great meats and deli meats too yummy
The older lady there at the coffee was very rude
Best vegetable side dishes ever! Large spacious atmosphere with variety of European drinks and dishes. Very nice first experience!
Food was excellent. Host was great. We had a family dinner there and they did a great family style sharing for us. Only thing was that it was cold (as we sat near the door), and people coming in and out created a cold breeze each and every time. And this place is a busy place!
This place is tucked away in a charmless, industrial area, but is nonetheless always packed bc the food and service are excellent. My favourites include the nduja pizza and the Fridays only frutti di mare.
Staff is too busy having personal conversations and takes there time aknowledging clients. They sell sausage that says WILD BOAR but after trying it we found that it was 90% pork and 10% wild boar but they charge you the wild boar price $25.00 for 5 sausages that do NOT have what it claims. What a waste of good money for less than average product.
The pizza was really good, but pasta and skewers were ok; price point and dining was food; very good for take out!
There cured meats selection is crazy. Doing things you don't always typically see. Like using wild board for salami, venison, and even horse. They also had a great looking butcher section with a variety of cuts of dry and wet aged meat, that I hope to buy next time and try cooking up at home. Never assume place like this be in this area but it's great. Would def make several return trips
One of my favs! A gem for sure!! Great food & service!! Rosie always makes the experience enjoyable!! I drive out of my way to pick up dinner and have a glass of vino while I wait a few times a month. Eating in is also a nice time, beautiful open concept!! You will not regret it!!
The selection of cured meats and menu are outstanding. Service was also awesome. Get prepared foods or foods to cook in your own.
Had Bolognese and speducci salad..... highly recommend. Very satisfying. Very good flavours. Finished with canoli and espresso. High end cured meats as well... will return.
Service 1/5 Food 4/5 A lot of the reviews to this place are not just positive.. but raving, which is what enticed me to come here with my girlfriend. When we arrived, it was easy to see how caring and attentive the wait staff were to their patrons. However, the service we received was in shocking contrast to what other guests were receiving. It was hard to ignore others getting served water, bread and attended to before us despite us being seated first. When it came to getting our food.. the people sitting next to us who came in at least 20 minutes after received their order of spedduci and pizza before us, even though we ordered the same thing in advance. At the risk of sounding obnoxious, we had to get our own napkins, request our own bread, ask for water multiple times, and inquire about the status of our food while other customers were being waited on attentively. Even though the food was good.. (We had the fennel and toasted pistachio pizza, butter sage ravioli and lamb chops), our overall experience of speducci mercatto was disappointing. We couldn't help but feel discriminated against. It really is sad because I had mentioned to my girlfriend how this would be a great place to bring the guys for a meal. But Id rather not be embarrassed by receiving the same service again. To management - our experience at your establishment was a pitiful display of hospitality. We sincerely hope you recognize how your demeanor comes across after reading this. You may just be unaware. We are not interested in reasons explaining the service we received. It felt like a kick to the teeth to see people being treated so well, while we were ignored. Even after the meal, we went to thank the chef because we sincerely enjoyed the meal.. only for him to not even acknowledge us.
Nice place with very nice food. Good atmosphere for a casual lunch. Watch for the extras, they will charge you $6 for water because they put it in a jar with a closable lid. (This is not bottled water, it's only water that they have put in their reusable jars.) Also if out with a group, they don't do separate bills. In addition the way their bills are organized makes it very difficult to separate who pays for what, which leads to equal splitting. So, you could end up supplementing the cost of someone else's meal if they have a more expensive palette than yours.
Speducci is absolutely an amazing place to have a casual meal and great time. The food is second to only the friendly atmosphere and phenomenal service! This is a great place to have a truly wonderful lunch or dinner - seven days a week. Highly recommend it - you won't be disappointed!
The food is okay... very busy. People of color don't seem to get the same service from the wait staff. When paying by card the tip suggestion start at 18% and higher. I think you think too much of yourself
Yum. Panini the way they are meant to be - you know, with quality ingredients and generous filling. Outstanding butcher selection - lamb chops!
Great place for higher end authentic Italian products.
Outstanding... best Italian meal in a restaurant in a long time. love the casual atmosphere, and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Had the speducci salad... perfecto! Also had Fennel sausage pizza with pistachios... out of control!!!
The best people! Lovely, always kind staff and eager to help even with the most awkward questions ( overheard someone asking some really bizzarre Q, and girls at the counter had patience with that one ! ), they've been working so hard in these crazy times, I wish only some customers would have patience and kindness towards the entire staff, imagine dealing with rude customers and trying not to flip.If you're in hospitality then you know how it is! Quality of products, meats, salumi, salami, food and groceries are one of a kind. They source out only the top quality that they're proud to offer, you can't put a price on quality you eat! If you're looking to save $ by all means go to Metro, but if you know what you want, you're into high end food, that keeps you healthy - look no further! Enjoy their passion to provide you quality, that tastes like heaven! I strongly believe, that this is a gem! Do not confuse this elite spot with any of your fast food places, great food needs time, care and dedication.I've witnessed some mean customers and it breaks my heart knowing, that people don't have a sence of humanity. PLEASE, bring your smile when you walk in here! This is my forever place.
I had my family there today after visiting my mother at the funeral home. It was a wonderful experience at SPEDUCCI and they took care of everything and the food was spectacular including special requests (fritto misto-my mother's favorite). Thank you so much for a memorable occasion.
The choice of Italian products is awesome! We went there in our quest for furniture shops in the area. There is a shop and a restaurant. You can order to cook the part of meat you choose from the shop. Once we take a filet mignon steak sandwich and it was delicious. The soup and salads are very tasty. I came out with some ham and meat for home. A must go place.
What a hidden gem - I don't know the area too well but found this place via Yelp. Safe to say I'll be coming back soon! I grabbed the Porchetta to take away but will definitely eat in next time as the decor and vibe is spot on. It is on the pricer side but it's great quality.
Wow - fantastic place. Selection of food is amazing. Great cured meats. Super clean look, great for eat in or take out. If you haven't gone....GO!
More than just great speducci! Everything is delicious. The staff are also very friendly and hospitable.
One of the best places in Toronto for real Italian food - none of this new age fusion stuff. The menu isn't massive but every time I have been there I find something new that's is spectacular! Case in point - today I had a Vegetarian Pizza !! Brilliant! Staff is awesome, and attentive. Owner Chef Gabrielle is on hand to ensure quality above all else. Salumi board is best in the City, most of the stuff made on site. You have to do some grocery shopping when there, impossible to find salami, prosciutto, etc this good. The nondiscrept location shouldn't fool your thoughts about going. The rustic feel is heightened table sharing. Brilliant food, excellent staff, great portions and fair prices!! You can easily skip a trip downtown, to find the same quality at a premium!! Reminds me of some of the small tratorias in my parents home town in Treviso, Veneto. Buon Appetito !!
Went with some work colleagues right before Christmas and the meal was superb. From the fennel and pistachio pizza to the steak tagliata with grilled vegetables - wow - it was amazing. Our server was friendly and the dessert platter she had prepared for us to share was wonderful. Highly recommend and make sure you finish the meal with an espresso. Absolutely the best coffee I have ever had.
Truly a hidden gem in Toronto. Just go there! Great place for Italian products, excellent meats and a restaurant as well. Food is delicious. Service is great. Rosie and Gabe (co-owners) are outstanding. I go there all the time to enjoy excellent food, pick up meats and cheeses for the week and enjoy a super friendly environment.
