I strongly do not recommend this restaurant. I would like to begin by mentioning my father is portuguese and I was raised in a portuguese influenced household and I am very familiar with portuguese cuisine. I've ordered grilled chicken from many places in toronto and by far this place is the worst. The rice and potatoes were bland and the grilled chicken was tiny and charred (not in a good way). I also did not appreciate when I asked questions regarding the menu in english, the lady instead of responding to me went into the kitchen and made a comment in portuguese to the other staff about the way I was placing my order not realizing I understood the language. I found this completely unprofessional. I will never visit this restaurant again.

This is my favorite place for breakfast and coffee, I really enjoy seating by the window. Tuesdays are closed and their breakfast ends at 10 am, prices are amazing. The servers are extremely helpful and nice!

Very nice place for tipical Portuguese food, it also has some brazilian dishes. The Meals, soups, deserts are different almost everyday. Good for eat in or take out. The prices are very reasonable. Staff is always friendly. Depending on timing it does get a little full but wait is usually not long. Has breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Totally recommend.

So not only did she get my order wrong.... But she asked me to bring half of the food back. (I ordered a salad and coleslaw and i only got coleslaw) How disgusting is that. Horrible service, i was a former employee there. She is very rude and yells at you in front of customers and has no respect. Her chicken is very dry and small portions without any meat on it, she also over charges you if your not familiar with the prices.

The food was very enjoyable, but the highlight for us was the amazing customer service. The chef came over and described the dishes and gave recommendations for first time customers. I was even offered to try one of the dishes to make sure I could commit to the flavour profiles. I can happily recommend people that are on the fence to try this restaurant!

Great authentic Portuguese food! They have a nice hot table for take-out or dine in and super friendly staff. I like getting the rotisserie chicken sandwich and caldo verde soup for $8, awesome deal!

The place is always crowded, many italians and portuguese go there. It has a buffet like service and also A la Carte. The staff is friendly, familiar and good, they will try to please you. Prices are normal but considering that portions are big, it probably falls more on the cheap side of your pocket. The food is good and expressos are the real thing, not watery american coffee, the european version.

Best chicken in the city and at the best prices. We had 2 meals and a coffee for $20.75 and it was better than the majority of restaurants out there. Real authentic Portuguese feel and the world's nicest staff. They have lots of other menu options and great takeout for a family dinner solution.

Went here for Portugues-style chicken, got seated fast, waitress took our order fast and we got our food fast. Good sized portions, around $15 for a quarter chicken (with tax and tip) not many tables here and they fill up fast. Parking is a little hard to find, and it was busy during the lunch rush. I went here with a portuguese friend and he said this plafe serves authentic portugues food. All in all it was good and i recommend this place. Get the roasted potatoes.... those are good.

Today was the second time I called them for take out. I spoked to 2 different people in both times. Both persons are so rude. They were literally yelling at me when I was asking about the prices and foods. I am a food lover and always order food from different places. I have never experienced such type of behaviors the way they did to me. I would never recommend to anyone to go there.

The food was amazing but the service can definitely be improved upon. It was a bit hectic until one of the ladies finally came over to explain their menu as they don’t have menus. The older ladies are by far more upbeat than the younger one. Food was great. Will come back here if I’m in the area and hungry. Unique tasting food.

What a great restaurant! Prices are incredibly fair, and the food is amazing, especially the potatoes! The owner/staff were incredibly welcoming as well, and it was very pleasant ordering. Excellent COVID protocols, felt safe the entire time. Ate on the patio which was extremely nice, and covered completely with an awning. Would absolutely come back, thank you for a great experience for the first patio experience of 2021!

Affordable and casual place. Very popular indeed, it was full while we were there approximately 2 hours. You can have a steak or rabbit for less than $14 (not bad at all). The service is not the best, so go prepared to it. I will go again and edit my review if the service gets better. Specifically I didn''t like the waitresses weren't as accessible as I expected. I am not Portuguese nor Brazilian, soooo, I wasn't crazy about the potatoes nor the rice. I guess this is nostalgic food for people from those countries. I respect that. No parking. You have to park on Glencaire St.

This was the first time trying this restaurant and it was delicious. Had the breakfast and love everything they served. The bacon was phenomenal and on point just the way I love it. Next time I'll be sure to try the lunch menu which look and smelled amazing!! Definitely will be returning ☺️????☺

I had heard from a friend that this place was good, couldn’t be more wrong. Seated right away but then waited 15 minutes to be acknowledged, after learning they had no menu we took waitresses suggestion on a dish my cousin & I ordered the same dish, along with a Super Bock and a Budweiser, they brought me a Stella instead. Then we waited a half hour for our dish to come out which is okay but then our chicken was extremely dry and burnt not to mention 60% bones. The only good part was the hand cut chips made in house which they ruined by cramming a big portion on a small plate and soaking them in dressing and grease from the chicken. We weren’t checked on once, and getting a waitresses attention is like flagging down a NYC taxi. The only saving grace is it’s extremely inexpensive - but a Big Mac was better put together.

I wanted to have breakfast at this restaurant for awhile now, but i was never ever disappointed in my life, they advertise breakfast bacon eggs toast home fries. cannot believe one piece of toast, one slice, you want 2 must order and pay for 2, never heard of it before, plus fries were not home fries they were small chunks hardly cooked, the bacon was done in deep fryer where they cook fish, chicken and other, so my wife did not come , i ordered toasted western , and they told me they do not know what it is, they where putting out buffet, so i asked for half of chicken to go. when i got it home was the most dried chicken in the world, maybe they give 2 days ago chicken,, very dry from deep fryer again., never will i visit this place again,. If that is the way Portuguese eat i want no part of it ,lousy food ever had in my life. NEVER AGAIN.

If I could give them 0 stars I would! the customer service is so disgusting I was insulted when I was unhappy with my unreasonable order. I was given 2 ribs (2 bones) for one order! the order is $12.50 THIS IS A RIP OFF! also when I called to complain she told me " Go to the store, buy the ribs yourself and cook them then come show them to me" THIS LADY IS RUDE and she is the owner! if you want to get ripped off go here! the absolute rudest people work here.

We dropped by for takeout after a long drive from the country. The food in the display case looked sparse...not much left. We asked if they had any whole chickens and the server said she had lots of whole chickens in the back. We also got some coleslaw. When we opened the bag at home we saw pieces of chicken which did not come from a whole chicken...they looked like dried out pieces of all sizes and shapes -leftovers from the kitchen. Very disappointed...too tired to take it back.....will never go there again and would not recommend them.

I used to like this place, but the rude attitude I got disappointed me. It is important to understand that there are many choices of cafes in Toronto and you have to be nice to your customers instead of rudely questining why I need a napkin! They just lost a client.

Been here a couple of times. Family owned, very good steak plates, stews of the day and different and salad bar choices. But take-out is a hit or miss. Last few were extremely small portions and I received the wrong order at one point. Overall great to eat in. They could work on getting more employees or better service.

Amazing authentic Portuguese food and the prices for large groups are amazing!!!! Just ordered for 10 people this weekend! My only complaint is the hot sauce, when you think Portuguese chicken and hot sauce you think of an oil and season blend sauce that you can coat the chicken with but theirs is pretty much just spicy no flavour or anything so your typical hot sauce.

My family and I discovered Da Rosa Restaurant six years ago. We go for dinner often and we also take out. The food is always fresh, tasty, abundant, healthy and very reasonably priced. The owner Maria is a very warm and caring person and her staff is also friendly and efficient. It is not a fancy place, but they make you feel at home. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Maria's lovely but the male manager is a total jerk! Very rude if you are not Portuguese. Completely ignores you upon entering the restaurant...but continues chatting to Portuguese customers or gives dirty looks, and I can see I am not the only minority person who feels the same judging by reviews. Will never go there again. Very sad that he gets away with this behavior!!!!

I had the Red Snapper. It was the whole fish ( not just the fillet, I should have asked). It was grilled perfectly. My wife had the ribs, but found them a little dry, but still quite tasty. Over all a very good dinner and good value for the money. Service was also very friendly and prompt.
